Chapter 44: A Bit Overwhelming

Lin Yun watched Huo Yuhao's actions with a sense of disbelief, completely baffled by how he managed to pull it off.

No wonder this guy dominated Douluo Dalu II: The Unrivaled Tang Sect with his grilled fish, even opening a chain store in Douluo Dalu III. You really had to hand it to him.

"It's ready, here you go!" Huo Yuhao retracted his spirit and let out a long breath before smiling and handing four skewers of grilled fish to Lin Yun.

By now, many students from Shrek Academy's outer court had been drawn in by the aroma of the grilled fish, gathering around and waiting to see how the first taster, Lin Yun, would react.

If it tasted good, they wouldn't mind spending some money to try it themselves.

Lin Yun nodded and took the grilled fish.

The fish was almost flawless, with only two small cuts near the gills and tail where the fishy tendons had been removed. Other than that, the fish was perfectly intact.

The scales of the green fish were naturally small, and leaving them on didn't affect the taste. In fact, they added a bit of extra flavor. After grilling, the scales and skin had a slightly crispy, golden-brown texture that made the fish look incredibly appetizing.

Lin Yun didn't hesitate. He took a big bite from the belly of the fish, tearing off a large chunk of meat.

As the crispy skin broke, the tender, juicy fish meat burst with a rich, savory flavor in his mouth. The combination of tenderness and crispiness was perfect.

Lin Yun's eyes lit up, and he quickly devoured the entire fish, tossing aside the head and bones before picking up another one to continue eating.

As Lin Yun ate, the previously light aroma of the grilled fish grew stronger, making the surrounding students lose interest in the food they were holding.

"Junior, how much for the grilled fish? I'll take two!" A senior in a yellow uniform couldn't resist stepping forward and asking Huo Yuhao.

Huo Yuhao, who had already started grilling the next batch, looked up and smiled apologetically. "Sorry, senior. My classmate here bought twenty skewers, and there are still sixteen left to grill. You might have to wait a bit."

"No problem, I can wait!" the yellow-uniformed senior said without hesitation.

"Junior, count me in too! Give me two as well!" another senior in a purple uniform chimed in.

"The grilled fish costs five copper soul coins each. There are only eight left for tonight," Huo Yuhao said.

The two seniors exchanged glances and immediately pulled out a silver soul coin each, handing it over.

Huo Yuhao happily accepted the money and went back to grilling.

And so, as Lin Yun ate, Huo Yuhao continued to grill. The remaining four skewers were quickly bought by three other outer court students.

Even after the fish ran out, the students who hadn't managed to buy any were reluctant to leave, watching enviously as Lin Yun enjoyed his meal.

"Junior, don't you think buying twenty skewers is a bit too much? Could you spare a few for us?" a purple-uniformed senior who hadn't gotten any grilled fish couldn't help but ask Lin Yun.

"Hmm?" Lin Yun looked up, narrowing his eyes slightly. A wave of dragon pressure emanated from him.

Are you trying to steal food from me?

How dare you!

His golden eyes glowed brightly, and his pupils contracted into vertical slits. Seeing Lin Yun's eyes, the purple-uniformed senior shrank back and quickly took two steps back.

"Oh? Senior, you want some grilled fish?" Lin Yun asked indifferently.

"No, no, no! I don't want any! Never mind!" The senior fled in panic.

Some in the crowd recognized Lin Yun as the "Strongest Freshman King." After a few whispered exchanges, they all fell silent.

Sure, he's a freshman, but even a Soul Emperor-level teacher was beaten by him. Us Soul Ancestors and Soul Kings are no match. Better not provoke him!

Finally, Lin Yun finished all twenty skewers of grilled fish and received the last four.

Looking at the six skewers in his hand, Lin Yun, after eating over a dozen, felt the light flavor wasn't satisfying enough. He pulled out a small bottle from his soul tool and sprinkled some brown powder on the fish.

This was a seasoning he had made back in the Star Dou Great Forest, similar to chili powder and cumin.

With the seasoning added, the already fragrant grilled fish released an even more intense aroma.

The yellow-uniformed senior, who had just been about to take a bite of his grilled fish, suddenly lost his appetite upon smelling this new aroma.

"Junior, could you give me some of that too?" the senior asked cautiously.

Lin Yun was slightly taken aback, then shook his head. "No, no, no. You see, this is a spice that has grown for tens of millions of years. It's absorbed the essence of the sun, moon, and life energy in the Star Dou Great Forest's most dangerous areas. It's not something ordinary people can handle."

The purple-uniformed senior couldn't help but laugh at Lin Yun's words. "If that's the case, then even the most luxurious places aren't for ordinary people. Come on, junior, stop joking and give us some!"

The most dangerous areas of the Star Dou Great Forest?

That's a place no human soul master can enter, let alone harvest spices from. The senior was convinced Lin Yun was just boasting.

"Tsk, fine." Lin Yun clicked his tongue and sprinkled some seasoning on the grilled fish the two seniors handed over. He then watched as they devoured the fish.

It was delicious, but after eating it...

Two red-faced, nose-bleeding fools appeared next to Huo Yuhao's stall.

"This is a bit overwhelming..." the purple-uniformed senior said awkwardly, using a tissue to wipe his nosebleed.

The yellow-uniformed senior wasn't faring any better. In fact, he was in worse shape since his strength was inferior. He was bleeding from his nose and seeing stars.

"I told you this stuff isn't for ordinary people," Lin Yun said with a helpless shake of his head.

To Lin Yun, this was just seasoning, but to normal people, it was practically a treasure. The herbs grown by the Lake of Life were no ordinary items.

At this moment, the crowd that had gathered to watch the two unfortunate seniors suddenly parted, making way for a beautiful woman with long, golden hair, rabbit ear accessories, and incredibly long legs.

Lin Yun recognized her—it was Jiang Nannan, the one who had handled his enrollment.

"Junior, how much for the grilled fish?" Jiang Nannan asked Huo Yuhao in a soft voice.

"Sorry, senior. We're sold out for today," Huo Yuhao apologized.

"What a shame." A hint of disappointment flashed in Jiang Nannan's bright eyes. She had been drawn in by the aroma of the grilled fish, and not being able to satisfy her craving was indeed a letdown.

Her delicate nose twitched slightly as she caught a whiff of an even more enticing aroma. When she turned to look in the direction of the scent, a familiar face came into view.

"Hey, senior! Long time no see!" Lin Yun grinned.
