The Eye That Saw The End (5)

After reading to the end, he found the last entry.:

"The last known Seeker went to the Southern Mountains... he mentioned a certain artifact that could 'open the way beyond the worlds.'"

Atlas closed the book. That's something.… But what did this have to do with the "Eye of Silence"? He thought about it. This is the second time the Southern Mountains have been mentioned as a key location.

First, he was sent there on the unique quest "The Secret of the Medallion", and now the ancient records also pointed to this place.

"A coincidence? Unlikely.

He quickly flipped through the book further, but there was little information. The only clue is an artifact capable of "opening the way beyond the worlds." It sounded too global, but perhaps the magician who could decipher the "Message of the Fugitives" knew something more.

Atlas closed the book and looked at the next one, "Cursed Artifacts of the Past." Perhaps there he will find at least a hint of what the "Eye of Silence" is.

The Southern Mountains were still inaccessible –level 20 was required to enter there, and he had only reached level 9 so far. There was no point in rushing.

"If the game doesn't let me get there, then I just have to keep doing what I'm good at. Everything will come in due time."

He turned back to The Cursed Artifacts of the Past and carefully placed his hand on the cover. The book trembled, as if reacting to the touch.

As soon as the Atlas opened the first page, a dark symbol appeared in the air, resembling a spider web of cracks on glass. The text inside was unusual –some of the words seemed to disappear and then reappear, changing.

But one name was repeated more often than the others:

"The Eye of Silence."

"Among the many artifacts capable of influencing consciousness, the Eye of Silence occupies a special place. It doesn't give you knowledge, but it makes you remember it. Its true purpose remains unknown."

Atlas frowned.

"Makes you remember?But what exactly?"

Deciding to continue his research. He opened the book again and began to read carefully, delving into every word, trying to understand what lies behind the ancient magics and curses described in the text.

The text was not easy. The pages were worn out by time, and even the words themselves disappeared in some places, as if the world itself did not want this knowledge to be restored. But Atlas continued, stubbornly trying to decipher every word.

He discovered several interesting points that immediately attracted his attention:

"Artifacts, like their owners, can be cursed. Seals can remain active for thousands of years."

"The Eye of Silence was created a long time ago, and its real power lies not in bestowing knowledge, but in depriving it."

"Those who owned this artifact lost their memory of important events, which may be due to the creation of protocols protecting great secrets."

The mystery around the "Eye Silence" became more and more mysterious. He felt his hands start to shake. It wasn't just an artifact. It was something much more dangerous, hiding forgotten and repressed knowledge that was carefully sealed and protected.

Atlas felt his understanding of this artifact grow. With each new word, he became more and more confident that the "Eye of Silence" was not just an ancient artifact. It was part of some deeper quest that touched the most hidden corners of the world.

However, his knowledge was not complete. It will take a lot more time and effort to understand exactly what this artifact does. But for now, he needed to decide what to do next.

Atlas decides to continue studying the artifact, which, as he now realizes, does not just lead to solving mysteries, but may be much more dangerous than he thought. He picks up the next folio, and, opening it, begins to immerse himself in new lines.

The pages of the book were covered with mysterious symbols that seemed to be able to change their position depending on how you looked at them. It was more than just magic—it used spells that could affect reality. Atlas felt his attention focused on each symbol, as if they were trying to speak to him.

Here's what he was able to subtract:

"The Eye of Silence is the key, but not in the sense that you can imagine it. It's not just an object, but an activator for hidden worlds."

"Those who possessed this artifact faced the disappearance or alteration of memory, which was part of hiding worlds that should have remained in the shadows."

"The Eye of Silence not only protects against knowledge, it distorts it. But if you activate it, be prepared for the fact that reality, as you know it, may change."

Atlas, continuing his research, felt more and more how his own reality was gradually becoming distorted. He could feel it in the air, as if some fragments of time and space were disappearing around him. With each new paragraph, he became more knowledgeable, but also more cautious.

Atlas was sure now: It's not just an artifact, it could be a whole curse that alters his perception. He was no longer sure that he could trust his senses. But he knew one thing: The Eye of Silence could open the way to unknown and dangerous worlds. It was both tempting and frightening.

Atlas put down the folio, feeling his inner voice strongly advising him to wait for the activation of such a powerful and dangerous artifact. He knew that he wasn't prepared for the possible consequences right now, and that his level was still too low to handle such an artifact without proper preparation.

He closed the book and stood up, stretching to stretch a little. It was quite quiet in the library, and Atlas could feel his thoughts slowly starting to return to more pressing matters.

Access to new knowledge was opening up, but for now it was better to focus on your path and current tasks. He decided that he should first upgrade his skills and improve his relationship with the mountain beast, and then return to the mysterious artifact.

Atlas headed out of the library, feeling light in his soul, as if he had made the right choice. He knew that the time would come to explore the Eye of Silence, but for now, he needed to be prepared for anything that might happen in this world.

Before leaving, he noticed an old map on the wall, which marked the way towards the Southern Mountains. Atlas remembered that he had a quest related to these mountains, but to complete it, he must first raise his level and prepare for a meeting with a magician.

However, for now, he decided not to rush into dangerous adventures until he had done everything necessary.

He left the library, immersed in the silence of the evening city. Time seemed to be on his side.
