Flashback...
Alvian could only stare at his Boss with an expression that was hard to define. His shock was impossible to hide when someone suddenly appeared in the storage room and greeted Angkasa. Hesitantly, he turned to look at the man—and was utterly stunned to see a face that closely resembled the owner of the café where he worked.
The man had a physique similar to Angkasa's. However, something set him apart—the sharp contours of his face, the cold gaze that seemed to pierce straight into one's soul, and a scar on the right side of his face. The scar, which looked like an old burn, had long since healed but remained prominent, adding a fierce impression that did nothing to lessen the man's undeniable handsomeness.
"So, this is your daily job? Running this little café? I never expected... this is what you've been doing all this time, Angkasa."
The man's voice was deep and sharp, carrying an aura that made the room feel instantly smaller and more oppressive. His words were like knives, cutting through the confidence of anyone who heard them.
Alvian felt his legs grow weak. His gaze dropped to the floor, unable to meet the man's eyes again. The storage room, which usually only held café supplies, now seemed to absorb the heavy tension filling the space.
Meanwhile, Angkasa stood tall, though there was a slight stiffness in his shoulders. He looked at the man in front of him without saying much, his expression unreadable, as if hiding something much deeper.
Alvian remained silent, his heartbeat echoing in his ears. He didn't understand what was happening, but one thing was clear—this man was no ordinary person. And for the first time, he realized that his café boss might be hiding more secrets than he had ever imagined.
Tap!
"Alvian, go home first. Tell Lorry that we're closing the café early today. Inform the remaining customers that we have to shut down sooner than usual."
His Boss's voice was firm, yet there was a certain calmness that made the command impossible to refuse. To Alvian, those words felt like fresh air in the suffocating atmosphere. Though his body still felt weak, he nodded obediently, swallowing the curiosity and fear swelling in his chest.
"Understood, Sir," he replied softly, almost whispering.
Without lingering any longer, Alvian quickly stepped out of the storage room. He could feel a chill brushing against his skin, even though there was no breeze.
As he walked toward the exit, he didn't dare to look back, not wanting to catch a glimpse of the conversation or the tension left between his Boss and the stranger.
When the storage room door closed behind him, Alvian took his first deep breath since entering that room. But the relief was short-lived. He knew that something big was happening—something involving his Boss—something far beyond the simple matters of running a café.
A few moments later...
"He really said that?" Darius asked, raising an eyebrow as Alvian approached him with a pale face, relaying Angkasa's message.
Darius, who had been busy finishing a task given by Angkasa earlier, looked confused. He had no idea that someone had come to see their Boss.
"Yeah! I was in the storage room with the Boss, and suddenly this man walked in and spoke to him like that. But what really got me was how much they looked alike! Their faces... they could be twins," Alvian whispered, his eyes still filled with deep curiosity.
"Huh? What are you guys talking about?" Lorry's voice cut into their conversation. She appeared, carrying a tray full of dirty plates and glasses, her gaze shifting between Alvian and Darius, clearly puzzled by what she had just heard.
"You don't need to worry about that," Darius interrupted firmly. "Boss already said we're closing early today. Now, both of you should just head home."
Alvian and Lorry exchanged glances before reluctantly nodding. With a hint of hesitation, they proceeded to inform the customers to finish up sooner than usual

"Huh, why are you closing early, Vian? I haven't even touched my cake!" Nadia grumbled in frustration. She had only been at Sky Café for less than an hour, enjoying her time while working on her new novel, but now she was being asked to leave because the café was closing early.
"Come on, Sis, let's just go home together. I'll wrap up your cake! Boss's orders!" Alvian pleaded, swiftly grabbing a special wrapper for Nadia's untouched strawberry cake.
With a sulky yet unintentionally adorable face, Nadia finally gave in. She started packing up her things, shutting down her laptop and slipping it into her bag. Before leaving, she took one last sip of her now lukewarm cappuccino, then walked toward the exit, where Alvian was already waiting.
However, without realizing it, she left her office keys on the table, right next to the empty cappuccino cup.
Nadia's POV
The evening felt so calm. A gentle, cool breeze brushed past me and Alvian, even though the city's hustle and bustle remained ever-present. Our homes were quite far apart, so we had to take the express train. I would get off at Calibri Station, the first stop, while Alvian would continue his journey for two more stops until Monserrat
As usual, the rush hour crowd made the atmosphere lively. People walked at their own pace, yet there was a certain warmth in the midst of all the chaos.
"Sis, how's your new job? Do you like it?" Alvian asked, breaking the silence as we queued to buy tickets.
I turned to him and gave a small nod. "Hmm… yeah, it's fine. Not too different from what I studied in college, so it's not a big deal."
"But… you're not going to write anymore?" His soft question struck a chord deep inside me. A dull ache surfaced, but I forced myself to smile.
I patted his shoulder gently, trying to reassure him. "Hey, what's with that look? C'mon, I'm Nadia—the person who never gives up! You know that, right? Don't worry, this time, I'll write a novel even greater than before!" I declared enthusiastically, raising my voice slightly to convince him… and myself.
Alvian let out a small laugh and nodded, as if agreeing with my determination. Deep down, I felt relieved. At least he wasn't worried about me anymore. I hated it when people around me felt sorry or pitied me for what had happened. I didn't need sympathy. I just wanted them to believe that I would be okay!
As I reached into my coat pocket to grab my phone, my expression suddenly changed. My office keys weren't there! Panicked, I checked all my coat pockets and my bag, but they were nowhere to be found.
"Sis, what's wrong? Your face looks so pale! What happened? Did you lose something?" Alvian asked, his voice laced with concern.
I looked at him, my face turning even paler as a realization hit me. I nodded slowly. "Vian, I think I left my office keys at the café…"
Alvian's expression shifted as well. He glanced at his phone, checking the time—it was already past 5:30 PM. "Maybe we can still make it if we go back now. Boss lives upstairs anyway," he suggested, trying to reassure me.
"No, Vian! You should go home now. Your house is farther than mine, so I'll go back to get the keys myself," I firmly declined his offer. His mother was sick, and I didn't want to trouble him over something this small.
"But, Sis…" Alvian hesitated, clearly reluctant to let me go alone.
I insisted, reminding him that his mother needed him more than I did. After a short argument, he finally gave in and let me return to Sky Café on my own.
'I just hope Angkasa lets me retrieve my keys…' I thought as I hurried back toward the café.
-----
Fifteen minutes later…
Tap! Tap! Tap!
"Father wants you to come back…"
"No—I…"
The orange hues that had painted the sky earlier were now fading, replaced by the dark embrace of the night. The streetlights flickered on, illuminating my path as I quickened my pace toward Sky Café.
The warm glow from inside the café still spilled onto the street, making me think that Angkasa might still be there.
"Come back, Angkasa. Don't you remember what happened to Father? Why are you so stubborn?!"
"THAT OLD MAN ALSO HASN'T FORGOTTEN WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS WIFE, HAS HE?! FATHER LEFT MOTHER ALONE—BURNED TO DEATH! DAMN IT!"
Eh?!
My steps halted as I heard a sharp voice, filled with rage, shattering the evening's silence from inside the café. The sheer intensity of the anger in that voice froze me in place.
"No matter how far you run, you can't erase the fact that you're part of the Atmadja family!"
The voice echoed again, this time even deeper and more emotional.
"Do you think I'll just stay silent?! They've been using our family name for years, while the public keeps labeling us as ruthless, bloodthirsty mafia!"
'Ma… mafia? Atmadja? So, Angkasa…'
My entire body trembled in fear! The Atmadja name was infamous—a powerful group that controlled this city. People had long suffered from their terrifying reign, and even law enforcement seemed powerless against them.
'I… I have to get out of here!' My thoughts screamed in panic as I tried to calm myself, forcing my legs to move despite feeling like jelly.
I hurriedly turned to leave, but in my panic, I accidentally knocked over a few trash cans nearby, causing a loud crash.
Clang!
"Ouch… shh…" Damn it!
I fell onto the rough pavement. Hopefully, they didn't hear anything… but that was wishful thinking, wasn't it?

"Ohh, look at this. It seems like we've found someone who can explain what's going on here."
Nadia, who had just gotten up and dusted off her slightly dirty clothes, was startled by the sharp voice directed at her. As she lifted her gaze, she swallowed hard, because standing before her was a figure strikingly similar to Angkasa, staring at her with a cold and intimidating gaze. His aura was so overwhelming that Nadia felt unable to escape or even make an excuse.
"What is this... huh?!"
Nadia's voice almost got stuck in her throat out of fear. However, her attention quickly shifted when Angkasa stepped out of the café, his expression shocked upon seeing her there.
With a face full of fear, Nadia sent a silent plea for help through her eyes, hoping Angkasa would save her from this situation.
Tap! Tap! Grab!
Eh?! Nadia's eyes widened in shock as she suddenly felt herself being pulled into a warm yet firm embrace—Angkasa's embrace.
Her body was wrapped in a hug that was both comforting and subtly suffocating. Before she could say anything, she was left speechless when Angkasa leaned in and whispered softly into her ear.
"Play along with me..."His voice was deep and commanding.
Within seconds, Angkasa gave her shoulders a gentle squeeze before releasing her from his hold. But even though she was no longer in his arms, Nadia's heart continued to race uncontrollably.
"Nadia, why are you here so late? What's wrong, love? Oh, are you hurt?" Angkasa asked, his deep voice laced with concern while his eyes remained locked on Nadia's face.
Nadia's heart nearly jumped out of her chest at the intense worry so clearly displayed on Angkasa's face. She hadn't expected this to be the game he was talking about!
"Err... U-uhm... I-I... Uhh... I left my office key... so I had to come back and get it..."
Nadia struggled to keep up with Angkasa's act, all while screaming internally! The sudden shift in atmosphere made her feel completely trapped in a situation she had no control over.
Angkasa nodded in understanding, then turned to Darius, gesturing for him to search for the key Nadia had mentioned. She could feel the tension in the air, but Angkasa remained calm and in control.
"You should've called me, love," Angkasa said in his deep, alluring voice. "I would have gotten it for you."
That voice—so deep and laced with emotion—made Nadia even more flustered. But she forced herself to remain composed, not wanting to show any signs of nervousness.
On the other hand, Angkasa's older brother, Bumi, simply observed their interaction with a blank expression. His tongue itched to say something—to voice the doubts that had been creeping into his mind—but he chose to remain silent.
Before Bumi could say anything, Angkasa spoke first, breaking the silence.
"Brother, this is Nadia—my girlfriend," he declared firmly while wrapping an arm around Nadia's shoulders in a gesture that was both gentle and meaningful. He wanted to make it clear to his brother that this wasn't just a game—Nadia was a part of his life.
"We've been dating for the past few months."
Bumi scoffed, unable to hide the disappointment on his face. But even though Nadia's pale complexion only fueled his suspicions, he decided not to escalate the situation—for now.
"So that means she knows you're part of the Atmadja mafia family, right?" Bumi asked, his tone sharp like a blade.
"Hey, just so you know, your boyfriend here is a mafia. If you're serious about him, then come to our house. Let Angkasa introduce you to the entire family. But if you're scared, I suggest you break up with him and run as far away as possible. Because I don't show mercy."
Bumi's words were brutal—more of a threat than a warning, testing Nadia's resolve.
Hearing that, Angkasa clenched his fists, his anger rising at the veiled threat directed at Nadia.
"Don't mess with my girlfriend!" Angkasa growled, his voice full of dominance, making the atmosphere even more tense.
Bumi was slightly taken aback by his younger brother's unusual reaction, but he decided not to push the issue further. A smirk formed on his lips, filled with mockery and disdain.
"Oh, are you scared? Relax, I won't do anything to your girlfriend!" Bumi chuckled, but his laughter carried an unmistakable hint of menace.
"But I'll still be expecting you both at the house in two days, Angkasa!" he declared with absolute certainty, as if ensuring that Nadia wouldn't be able to escape the world of the Atmadja family.
Bumi let out a low, sinister chuckle before walking away, leaving the two of them standing there. He was confident that Nadia wouldn't have the courage to step foot into the Atmadja household.
'Just wait and see, little brother...' Bumi thought, his smirk never fading from his face.
