Raine managed to survive the next few days of classes without killing anyone—a freaking miracle, considering the rage that had been simmering inside her for far too long.

Doing school solo at Apex Academy was practically impossible. That's why she stuck close to Selena and Killian only. Her circle might be small, but it was solid.

They'd eat together and Selena has atleast started to teach her basic spells.

She was still quiet, still carrying the weight of everything—but each day that passed without seeing Cole made it a little easier to breathe. Her heart was still bruised, but the edges were starting to heal.
