───「 GODZILLA POV 」───
Godzilla returned to the ocean, its colossal form slipping beneath the waves as it prepared for its next evolution.
For an entire night, it had unleashed its atomic breath, reducing Tokyo to a smoldering wasteland. Now, its nuclear reserves were running low. Another rampage—especially against a city fortified by human defenses—would be too costly.
It needed time. Time to recover. Time to evolve.
With two missions completed, Godzilla made its way through Tokyo Bay, slipping into the open sea. As it swam into the abyss, its sonar picked up a fleet trailing in the distance—several warships and nuclear submarines lurking dozens of nautical miles behind.
They weren't attacking. Not yet. They were following.
Godzilla didn't care.
Did humans actually think they could trace its dwelling place? Even if they pinpointed its exact location, what could they do? Send a nuclear warhead into the depths of the Mariana Trench? That would be tragic. For them.
Unbothered, Godzilla dove deeper, its immense shadow fading into the ocean's dark embrace.
The human fleet eventually gave up the chase. Their submarines couldn't descend beyond two thousand meters—nowhere near the depths of Godzilla's lair.
[Mission Complete.]
[Side Mission: The Merciful Monster King (Completed) Side Mission: Human Stronghold, Where No Grass Grows (Completed)]
[Rewards: Human Radar Detection, Evolution of Power Supply System]
A note flashed across its control panel:
Evolution requires 240 hours. The host will enter a deep slumber. Proceed only when conditions are secure.
Godzilla let out a low, rumbling growl, scanning its rewards. This was a crucial step toward its ultimate goal—eradicating humanity and reshaping Earth.
The control panel echoed its thoughts.
[Main Mission: Drive Humans Out of This Universe!]
Those arrogant creatures destroyed Earth's ecosystem. As the planet's ultimate guardian, Godzilla, unleash your atomic wrath! Drive them out of existence!
Current Completion: 1%
[Rewards: Advanced Materials, Enhanced Power Supply, Planetary Ecosystem Restoration]
One percent. A whole percentage point gained in a single night. Progress. But not enough.
'I need to speed this up.'
Godzilla scrolled through its remaining objectives, evaluating which tasks to tackle after its evolution.
[Side Mission: Nuclear Rain]
Humans believe their nuclear arsenal grants them supreme power. But does it truly affect the Monster King? Prove them wrong—demonstrate your resilience!
[Reward: Enhanced Durability]
A durability boost was tempting, but this mission depended entirely on human paranoia. Would they dare fire another nuke after witnessing nuclear devastation firsthand? Unlikely. The frail creatures were too fearful of repeating history.
No matter. Godzilla moved on.
[Side Mission: Majestic King]
Destroying a single city isn't enough to display your might. Wreak havoc upon two cities in one rampage! Let them see the endurance of the Monster King!
[Reward: Increased Body Size]
This one was straightforward. Once the evolution was complete, leveling two cities wouldn't be an issue. A larger body meant a bigger nuclear core, and a bigger nuclear core meant stronger atomic breath. Acceptable.
[Side Mission: Incarnation of Destruction]
Strike fear into humanity! Reduce a naval fleet, an army battalion, and an air force base to ashes!
[Progress: 1/3 Completed]
[Reward: Enhanced Atomic Breath]
Now this was interesting. Would the enhancement increase his breath's range? Its heat? Or perhaps its recharge rate? Godzilla was eager to find out. It would simply need to find an army and an air base to annihilate next time it surfaced.
[Side Mission: The Immortal Monster]
Humanity believes modern weapons can kill any lifeform. Prove them wrong—endure their firepower and show them their insignificance.
[Progress: 34% Completed]
[Reward: Advanced Regeneration]
Now this was the easiest mission of them all. Godzilla just had to… stand there and take it. Conventional weapons were nothing more than mosquito bites. The last time it surfaced, it had deliberately absorbed human firepower, gauging their strongest attacks. Ten minutes under heavy bombardment had only gotten it to 34% completion.
Next time, the humans were bound to unleash even greater firepower. They were predictable like that. If Godzilla simply stood its ground again, this mission would complete itself.
Satisfied, it rumbled deep in its throat. It had a plan.
During its next emergence, it would complete at least three of these missions, triggering multiple evolutions. After that, its power would surge to new heights.
Godzilla envisioned its future form, simulating possible evolutionary paths. With a final glance at its mission log, it initiated the evolutionary process.
The mighty beast's body went still, sinking further into the abyss. It entered hibernation, wrapped in the cold silence of the Pacific's deepest trenches.
On the surface, however, tranquility was a distant dream. Humanity was in chaos.
Panic spread like wildfire. World leaders scrambled for solutions. Militaries mobilized. Scientists debated desperate theories.
Because they all knew one thing.
Godzilla would return.
