Chapter 26
After everything that happened, time felt like a blink of an eye. And now, it was Friday the 13th.
The hallway outside the club pulsed with flashes of blue and red lights, shifting across the walls like sirens in a dream. Bass from inside trembled through the floor in waves. Emma took a slow breath. Her palms were damp, her heartbeat quick but steady.
A huge man in a black suit looked her up and down. His gaze lingered just long enough to make her jaw tighten.
"Invitation," he grunted.
Emma held her gaze level as she handed over the card. The man gave it a brief glance, then stepped aside.
