Chapter 18: Dark Matter Howling

The doors of the building slowly opened, and a powerful and eerie energy came over them, blowing the clothes of Kyle, Elena, and Lucien hunting. Inside the door, a pungent odor filled the dim light, as if mixed with the smell of old metal and unknown chemicals. The walls shimmered with a ghostly blue light that wavered like a ghostly flame, illuminating a small area around them but also making the unknown space seem even more eerie.

Kyle gripped the Geiger counter tightly and looked around warily, his eyes revealing tension and determination. His forehead was covered with beads of sweat, which shimmered with an eerie light under the ethereal blue glow. "Everything here reeks of danger, everyone must be careful, every step could be a trap." He lowered his voice and said, his voice echoing in this empty space with a trace of imperceptible trembling.

Elena nodded slightly, her long silver-white hair like a waterfall fluttering gently under the blowing of the energy, flickering with a mysterious blue light. The Klein Bottle Topology iris in her left eye was getting deeper and deeper at the moment, as if it could see through all the mysteries in this darkness, and the quantum entanglement rune on her neck was also glowing slightly, seemingly echoing the energy around her. "I can feel that the quantum field here is unusually disorganized, and there is a powerful dark matter force surging. He growled lowly, the boldness and fearlessness of a werewolf in his voice, trying to dispel the uneasiness in his heart with this courage.

The three of them cautiously walked into the interior of the building, the ground under their feet was covered with strange metal plates, each step made a dull "clunk" sound. The surrounding walls were carved with all kinds of strange symbols and patterns, which looked particularly mysterious under the blue light. Kyle scrutinized these symbols, trying to find some clues, but they seemed disorganized and clueless.

Lucien's ears instantly stood up straighter, and a hint of vigilance flashed in his eyes, "This voice ... is a werewolf, but it's a little different, as if it's controlled by something." Elena's face became grave, "Did the Observer Program do something to the werewolves? We must be careful in dealing with this, these controlled werewolves may be more dangerous than ordinary werewolves." She focused her energy and manipulated the Blood Crystal Matrix, coalescing a Quantum Energy Sword in her hand, which shone with a blue light and emitted powerful energy fluctuations, preparing herself for the upcoming battle.

If it really is a controlled werewolf, we must find a way to free them." He said firmly, his eyes revealing a hint of determination.

As the howls got closer and closer, a group of huge werewolves appeared in front of them. These werewolves were covered in black hair, their eyes flashed with a bizarre blood-red light, and green saliva flowed from their mouths, emitting a sickening odor. A faint dark matter halo surrounded their bodies, which flickered constantly and seemed to be enhancing their power.

"These werewolves aren't right, the dark matter power in them is strange." Lucien said vigilantly, his body trembling slightly, partly because of anger, these controlled werewolves made his heart ache; partly because of the unprecedented threat he felt.

Kyle looked at these werewolves, and a wave of doubt welled up in his heart, "These werewolves have blood runes glittering in their eyes, could it be that the Blood Race and the Observer Program colluded and modified the werewolves?" He recalled all the previous encounters with the Blood Race, and felt more and more in his heart that things were not simple.

Before they could think much, the werewolves attacked. They pounced on the three of them like black lightning, extremely fast and powerful. Kyle quickly fired an energy beam with his Geiger Counter, which struck a few of the werewolves, who let out pained cries, but quickly pounced back on them.

"Aren't these guys afraid of pain?" Kyle said in surprise.

Elena wielded her quantum energy sword and fought with the werewolf. Her sword was so powerful that every swing left a wound on the werewolf's body, but the werewolves didn't flinch at all. "They're controlled and probably can't feel pain. We have to find a way to find the source that's controlling them!" She shouted.

Lucien roared and charged at the werewolf. His wolf claws swung densely as he engaged the werewolves in close combat. Although his power was strong, there were too many werewolves, and he gradually felt a bit overwhelmed. "These bastards, I won't let you go!" He roared as he fought.

During the battle, Kyle realized that the actions of these werewolves seemed to be controlled by an invisible force, and although their attacks were ferocious, they lacked flexibility, as if they were just following some kind of instructions. "Elena, Lucien, these werewolves have a pattern to their movements, we can utilize this to counterattack!" He shouted.

Thus, the trio began to observe the werewolves' attack patterns, looking for their weaknesses. They found that whenever a werewolf launched a powerful attack, there would be a short pause. Kyle saw the right moment and fired a powerful energy beam with his Geiger Counter, hitting a werewolf in the neck at the moment of its pause. The werewolf screamed miserably and fell to the ground, and the dark matter halo around its body dissipated.

"That's it, keep attacking their weak points!" Kyle shouted.

Elena and Lucien followed suit as they worked closely together, utilizing the gaps in the werewolves' attacks and constantly attacking their weak points. Under the joint efforts of the three, the number of werewolves gradually decreased.

However, just when they thought they were about to repel the werewolves, a huge werewolf slowly stepped out of the darkness. This werewolf was even taller and stronger than the other werewolves, its eyes flashed with an even more dazzling blood-red light, saliva flowed from its mouth like a waterfall, and the dark matter halo on its body was even more intense, as if it were an impenetrable layer of armor.

"This werewolf is the alpha, it's very powerful, everyone be careful!" Lucien shouted.

The werewolf leader let out an earth-shattering roar, his voice containing a powerful dark matter force, which spread out in all directions like a shockwave, shaking Kyle, Elena, and Lucien back a few steps.

"This power ... is a dark matter howl, it's using the power of dark matter to attack us!" Elena said, her face becoming very ugly.

Kyle concentrated on trying to ward off the power with his Geiger counter, but it had little effect. "This dark matter howling is too powerful, we have to think of something else!" He shouted.

Lucien looked at the werewolf leader and a wave of anger welled up in his heart, "These guys, how dare they use us werewolves for experiments! I must defeat you today!" He ignored the danger and rushed towards the werewolf leader.

Seeing Lucien rushing towards him, the werewolf leader opened his huge claws and grabbed towards Lucien. Lucien nimbly dodged the werewolf's attack while looking for an opportunity to counterattack. He realized that the dark matter halo on the werewolf leader's body was weakest in the heart area, so he focused his strength and lunged towards the werewolf leader's heart area.

Just when Lucien was about to attack the werewolf leader's heart, the werewolf leader suddenly unleashed an even more powerful dark matter howl. This time, the power contained in the howl directly shook Lucien out, and Lucien fell heavily to the ground, spitting out blood.

"Lucian!" Kyle and Elena shouted at the same time.

Elena quickly ran to Lucien's side and checked his injuries. "Lucien, how are you?" She asked anxiously.

Lucien wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, "I ... I'm fine, this asshole is too good."

Kyle looked at the werewolf leader with anger in his heart. He realized that the werewolf leader needed some preparation time when it unleashed its dark matter howl. "Elena, let's attack it while it's preparing to howl and interrupt its attack!" He shouted.

Elena nodded as she maneuvered the Blood Crystal Matrix and boosted the energy to the maximum. When the werewolf leader was once again ready to unleash his dark matter howl, Kyle and Elena attacked at the same time. Kyle fired a super-powerful energy beam with his Geiger Counter, while Elena wielded her Quantum Energy Sword and charged towards the Werewolf Leader.

The dark matter howl of the werewolf leader was interrupted under the two men's attack, and it let out a pained growl as its body shook a few times. Seeing this, Lucien also struggled to stand up and joined the fight. He rushed towards the werewolf leader and with all his strength, he plunged his wolf claws deep into the back of the werewolf leader.

The werewolf leader struggled frantically, its power still strong, trying to shake off Lucien. Kyle and Elena took the opportunity to continue their attack as they kept firing energy beams and wielding energy swords at the werewolf leader. Under the combined attacks of the three, the werewolf leader finally couldn't support itself and fell to the ground.

As the leader of the werewolves fell, the other werewolves lost their fighting strength and fell to the ground unconscious. Kyle, Elena and Lucien breathed a sigh of relief as they managed to repel the group of controlled werewolves.

"Whew, finally that's settled." Kyle said, collapsing to the floor in exhaustion.

Elena looked at the unconscious werewolves around her with worry in her heart, "These werewolves are controlled like this, the Observer Program's plot must be even more terrifying. We must find a way to unlock their control as soon as possible while uncovering the truth about the Observer Program."

Lucien nodded, "That's right, these guys are abominable. I will make them pay for what they have done!" He looked at the unconscious werewolf, his eyes filled with anger and heartache.

The trio began to look for clues inside the building, and they found some strange instruments and documents. The instruments looked very complicated, with various indicator lights flashing on them, as if some kind of mysterious experiment was going on. Kyle scrutinized the instruments, trying to find their purpose. "These instruments seem to be used to control dark matter and werewolf genes, the Observer program may be using dark matter to modify the werewolves and make them weapons of war." He said.

For her part, Elena flipped through the documents, which contained words and symbols she had never seen before, but through her quantum sensing ability, she could sense that they were related to the core secrets of the Observer program. "There is definitely important information hidden in these documents, but we need more time to decipher it." She said.

Just then, the building suddenly shook violently, and the ghostly blue light on the walls flickered as if it would go out at any moment. "Not good, the building seems to be collapsing!" Kyle shouted.

"We need to get out of here!" Elena said.

The three of them hurriedly ran towards the exit of the building, and in the process of escaping, they had to dodge the constantly falling rocks and collapsing walls. Finally, they managed to escape the building.

Everything is still unknown, but their hearts are filled with the firm belief that they must fight for the sake of guarding the peace of the universe, even if there is endless darkness and danger ahead.

As the dark matter came in like a raging tide, Kyle, Elena and Lucien did not flinch in the slightest. Kyle quickly took out his Geiger counter and tried to detect the composition and energy fluctuations of the dark matter, his eyes were glued to the data pulsating on the counter, beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, but he didn't even realize it. "The energy fluctuations of this dark matter are very unstable and contain some unknown particles, we'll have to be careful how we deal with it." He shouted, his voice a little thin in the roaring waves of dark matter, but it was full of determination.

Elena concentrated on manipulating the Blood Crystal Matrix, forming a defensive barrier around them against the onslaught of dark matter. Lucien, on the other hand, watched his surroundings vigilantly for any other dangers. His wolf ears were raised high and constantly rotating, trying to catch any unusual sounds. He growled in a low voice, the muscles on his body tensing up, ready to pounce on any enemies that might appear.

As the dark matter continued to pour in, cracks began to appear in the defense barrier, emitting a "zipping" sound, as if it would break at any time. Kyle looked at the crumbling barrier and was anxious, "Elena, this barrier won't last much longer! We have to think of something quickly!"

Elena gritted her teeth and increased the energy output of the Blood Crystal Matrix, "I'm doing my best, but the power of this dark matter is too strong!"

Just as the defense barrier was about to shatter, Kyle suddenly noticed some abnormalities in the energy fluctuations around the crack in the sky. He looked carefully and realized that there seemed to be some faint energy nodes at the edges of the rift, and the flow of energy between these nodes seemed to have some connection with the outpouring of dark matter. "Elena, Lucien, look! These energy nodes at the edge of the rift might be the key to closing the rift!" He shouted.

Lucien looked in the direction Kyle was pointing and a glimmer of hope flashed in his eyes, "Then what are we waiting for? Hurry up and attack those nodes!"

Elena nodded, "Good, but we must be careful, the energy in these nodes is very unstable, an improper attack could cause a greater disaster."

Thus, the three of them concentrated their power and launched an attack towards the energy node at the edge of the rift. Kyle fired an energy beam with his Geiger counter, Elena manipulated the Blood Crystal Matrix to release a powerful wave of quantum energy, and Lucien let out a wolf howl that contained a great deal of power, a wolf howl that carried with it his fury at his enemies and his determination to guard the world.

Under the combined attack of the three, the energy node began to flicker and emit a dazzling light. The cracks also began to slowly shrink, and the rate of dark matter gushing out gradually slowed down. "Success! Continue the attack!" Kyle shouted excitedly.

However, just when they thought they were about to close the rift, a huge beam of dark matter suddenly shot out from the rift and came towards them. This beam of light contained a huge amount of energy, as if it could destroy everything. "Not good, dodge!" Elena shouted.

The three of them quickly dodged to the side, but the speed of the dark matter beam was too fast, and it still hit their defense barrier. The defense barrier instantly shattered, and the powerful impact shook them out. Kyle, Elena, and Lucien fell heavily to the ground, their bodies suffering different degrees of damage.

"Ahem ... this power is too strong ..." Kyle coughed, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.

Elena struggled to her feet, "We can't give up, we have to stop this rift!"

Lucien also struggled to get up, "That's right, even if we have to fight for this life, we have to guard the world!"

The three of them focused once again, preparing to launch a new round of attacks. But just then, they realized that the space around them began to distort and time seemed to slow down. A mysterious voice rang in their ears, "Do you think you can easily stop the Observer Program? It's too naive. This is only part of their plan, and more disasters await you next."

Kyle shouted angrily, "Who are you? Come out! Feel free to use whatever plot you have!"

The mysterious voice, however, just laughed coldly: "You will soon know ..." After saying this, the mysterious voice disappeared, and the surrounding space and time returned to normal.

Kyle, Elena, and Lucian know that the challenges they face go far beyond the dark matter rift in front of them. The conspiracy of the Observer program loomed over them like a great mystery.
