Chapter 23: Introduction to Quantum Sorcery

Kyle, Elena and Lucien were physically and mentally exhausted after the thrilling battle and vacuum phase change disaster at the Observer program headquarters, but they didn't dare to slack off. They knew that the shadow of the Observer Program still loomed over the world, and that danger could strike again at any time. The evolution of the Blood Crystal Matrix and the appearance of the 14th Calibrator Fluctuation made them realize that they must improve their strength as soon as possible in order to take the initiative in the next challenges.

In a hidden, secure stronghold, the three men sat in a circle, discussing their next move. Kyle's eyes revealed determination and focus as he scrutinized the Geiger counter to make sure it would function properly in battle. "We need to find a way to figure out the 14th Calibrator's intentions and the hidden truth behind this series of events." He said as he debugged the instrument.

Elena frowned slightly, her long silver-white hair swaying with the slightest movement, the Klein Bottle Topology iris in her left eye flickering with thought. "The power of the 14th Calibrator is too mysterious, and we've always been passive when we've fought them before. Perhaps we can start with our own abilities and look for a breakthrough." Her voice was calm and collected, but it was hard to hide the exhaustion in it.

Lucien, on the other hand, was moving his muscles on the side, the wounds on his body hadn't fully healed yet, but the tenacious physique of a werewolf made him still full of fighting spirit. His silver-gray wolf ears twitched from time to time, vigilantly sensing the movements around him. "No matter what, we werewolves won't back down. But with more power, we can better protect the pack and everyone else." His eyes shone with a feral light, his desire for power overflowing.

Just then, Elena suddenly thought of an idea. "Lucien, werewolves have the unique ability to quantize wolf venom, perhaps we can combine modern science with the traditional witchcraft of werewolves to explore a more powerful force. I have studied Schrödinger's equation, and it may help the werewolves better control the toxin." She looked to Lucien with anticipation in her eyes.

Lucien's face showed a hint of hesitation when he heard this. Werewolves had their own traditions and beliefs, and there was some resistance in his mind to integrating science into sorcery. "Can science really be integrated with our sorcery? We werewolves have always followed ancient traditions, would this go against the will of our ancestors?" He frowned, a hint of worry in his tone.

Kyle spoke up from the sidelines, "Lucien, we are facing an unprecedented crisis. Tradition is important, but we also need to adapt to new changes. Schrödinger's equation can explain quantum phenomena on a microscopic level, perhaps it can bring new breakthroughs to the werewolves' abilities." He tried to convince Lucien, sincerity in his eyes.

After some thought, Lucien finally nodded. "Alright, I'll give it a try. But if this will hurt our werewolf traditions, I will stop immediately." His eyes revealed a hint of firmness, indicating his bottom line.

Thus, Elena began to teach Lucien about Schrödinger's equation. She patiently explained the principles and applications of the equation, while Lucien listened attentively, asking his own questions from time to time. "You see, Schrödinger's equation describes the evolution of the wave function of a quantum system over time. If we can apply it to the control of wolfsbane, we might be able to make the release of wolfsbane more precise and powerful." Elena said while gesturing with her hand in the air.

Lucien struggled to understand the complexities, his eyes revealing concentration and seriousness. However, some of the scientific concepts were just too unfamiliar to him, and it was very difficult to understand them. "Elena, what you're saying is too complicated. What is wave function? What specific connection does it have with our Wolfsbane?" He scratched his head, a confused expression on his face.

Elena smiled slightly, knowing that this knowledge was indeed difficult for Lucien to understand. "To put it simply, the wave function can describe the state and changes of Wolfsbane in the microscopic world. We can adjust the wave function to make the Wolfsbane appear like a quantum in the form of a probability cloud, so that it will be harder for the enemy to catch its attacks." She explained as much as she could in simple, easy-to-understand language.

Under Elena's patient guidance, Lucien began to try to apply Schrödinger's equation to control the wolfsbane. He concentrated on mobilizing the quantized wolfsbane in his body, and tried to adjust the wolfsbane's wave function according to the method Elena taught him. At first, the progress was not smooth, the wolf venom's fluctuations were very unstable and not under his control.

"Don't be in a hurry, Lucien. It will take time and patience. You try to feel the flow of wolfsbane in your body, then use your consciousness to guide it and adjust it according to the laws of the equation." Elena encouraged from the side.

Lucien took a deep breath and tried again. This time, he was even more focused and tried to eliminate any outside interference. Gradually, he felt the fluctuations of the Wolfsbane begin to change, no longer as chaotic as before. The Wolfsbane's energy gathered and spread in a strange way, taking on a form similar to a quantized probability cloud.

"I did it!" Lucien shouted excitedly, he could feel a qualitative leap in his control of Wolfsbane. Originally, he could only simply release the Wolfsbane to attack, but now he could make the Wolfsbane attack in a more skillful way, greatly increasing the stealth and power of the attack.

However, just as Lucien was immersed in the joy of success, he suddenly realized that applying this new method of controlling wolfsbane was extremely draining on his spirit. His forehead was covered with beads of sweat, and his body began to tremble slightly. "Elena, although this is effective, I can't support my spirit anymore." He said with a ragged breath.

Elena frowned, thinking for a moment before saying, "This is probably because you're not quite used to this new way of controlling, your body and spirit haven't fully adapted yet. We can take a break first, and then practice slowly afterward, gradually improving your endurance and proficiency."

During the break, Lucien's mind was somewhat disgruntled. He felt that although the scientific method was powerful, it made him lose some of the werewolf's instincts and traditional advantages. "Elena, I always feel that using this scientific method has made me less of a pure werewolf. Our strength should come from nature and instinct, not these complicated scientific formulas." He looked at his hands, his eyes revealing a hint of confusion.

Elena understood Lucien's feelings, she patted Lucien's shoulder and said, "Lucien, I understand your thoughts. But the enemies we are facing now are also evolving, we can't be stuck in our ways. Science and tradition are not opposites, we can find a balance between the two. Moreover, you see that our power is now boosted, which will help us in our fight against the Observer program."

Kyle chimed in, "Lucien, Elena is right. Our goal is to protect everyone, so as long as we can achieve that, what's wrong with trying new methods? It's not too late for you to slowly retrieve the werewolf tradition once we've solved the immediate crisis."

The conflict in Lucien's heart eased slightly as he listened to the words of the two men. He nodded and said, "Alright, I'll try again. But I still hope to find a better balance between science and tradition."

After a period of rest, Lucien started practicing again. This time, he gradually mastered some of the techniques, and his mental exertion was not as great as before. He kept trying to control the Wolfsbane in different ways, making the Wolfsbane's probability cloud take on all sorts of different forms and attacks.

As he practiced deeper, Lucien discovered that this quantized wolfsbane was not only more advantageous in attacking, but also resonated wonderfully with his other abilities. His Higgs Field Perception also seemed to have been enhanced, and he was able to more acutely detect changes in the energy around him.

"Elena, Kyle, look! I've noticed that this quantized wolfsbane and my Higgs field perception seem to be boosting each other. I can feel the energy around me more clearly than before." Lucien said excitedly.

Elena and Kyle watched the change in Lucian with a sense of relief. "This is really an unexpected blessing. It looks like we were right to try." Kyle said with a smile.

However, their training didn't last long. Suddenly, Lucien discovered a strange sorcery textbook during his practice. This textbook was something he stumbled upon in a corner of the stronghold, and the words and patterns on it were very peculiar. "Elena, Kyle, look at this. This textbook looks unusual, I've never seen anything like it before." He picked up the textbook and handed it to the two.

Elena took the textbook and studied it carefully. She realized that the textbook seemed to be a blend of ancient sorcery and some over-the-top science, and that some of the pages were numbered in a surprisingly future version. "This is so strange. The source of this knowledge is unknown to us, and the page numbers of the future versions indicate that the origin of this textbook is by no means simple." Her eyes revealed a hint of caution.

Kyle also came over and looked at the textbook with a frown on his face. "The knowledge in here is complex, some of it even exceeds our current knowledge. We have to be careful with it and not try it out easily." He was well aware that unknown knowledge could bring great risks.

Lucien, on the other hand, was a bit curious as he looked at the mysterious patterns and words on the textbook, his heart filled with the desire to explore. "Maybe this is a good opportunity to boost our power? We can't give up just because it's strange." He jumped into action, wanting to delve into this textbook.

Elena looked at Lucien and said seriously, "Lucien, we are still unclear about the origins and uses of this textbook. Before fully understanding it, a hasty attempt may bring about unforeseen consequences. We must proceed with caution."

Lucien followed Elena's advice, albeit with some reluctance. "Alright then, let's study it and see if we can find some clues." He put the textbook aside, but he was still curious about it in his mind.

Just as they were about to delve into the teaching materials, suddenly, a strange sound came from outside the stronghold. Lucien's wolf ears immediately perked up as he looked out vigilantly. "Something's going on, it seems like something is approaching." He said in a low voice, the muscles on his body tensed up, ready to fight.

Kyle quickly picked up the Geiger counter and detected the energy fluctuations around him. "There's something abnormal about the energy fluctuations, we have to deal with it carefully." His eyes revealed vigilance.

Elena also focused on using her quantum sensory abilities to detect what was going on outside. "I sense an unfamiliar energy, and it seems to be carrying some sort of purpose. Everyone be careful." She warned, the Blood Crystal Matrix glowing faintly within her, ready to unleash its power.

As the mysterious energy drew closer, the nerves of the three grew tighter. They didn't know what they were about to face, but their hearts were filled with the firm belief that no matter what dangers they encountered, they would face them together, guarding each other and this world. In front of this mysterious power full of unknowns, how would they cope? And what kind of twist of fate will that mysterious sorcery textbook bring to them? Everything is still unknown, but they are undaunted and brave to meet the upcoming challenges.
