Chapter 28: Outbreak of the Memory Plague

Kyle, Elena, and Lucien continue to explore the ruins deeper with the four-dimensional unicorns after repelling the Bloods. However, as the exploration progressed, a bizarre phenomenon quietly descended. The mysterious energy permeating the relics seemed to be triggered by some unknown factor and began to produce strange fluctuations, which gradually interfered with the surrounding quantum field, triggering a series of changes beyond imagination.

Elena suddenly felt a splitting headache, she covered her head and groaned in pain. "My head ... seems like something is invading my memories!" Her voice trembled, her long silver-white hair fluttered wildly in the chaotic energy fluctuations, and the Klein Bottle Topology iris in her left eye flickered with an erratic light.

Kyle and Lucien immediately gathered around, their faces full of worry. Kyle nervously held Elena's hand and asked with concern, "Elena, how are you? What exactly happened?" Before they could figure out the situation, some vague images suddenly appeared in the space around them. These images were like fragments of memories, constantly flickering and jumping, and most of them were related to Elena. There were her experiences in different times and spaces, as well as some blurred images that seemed to have been deliberately hidden.

Kyle looked at the images in amazement, trying to find clues in them. "Could these images ... be Elena's memories? But why are they here? And it looks so confusing." He frowned, his mind filled with doubt.

Lucien's eyes widened as well, he had never seen such a bizarre scene before. "This is too strange, Elena, did you trigger some kind of mechanism in the ruins?" He looked towards Elena with a hint of inquiry in his eyes.

Elena tried to calm herself and focus on sensing these memory fragments. "I ... don't know. But I can feel that these memories seem to be manipulated by a powerful force, and ... they are spreading." Her face was pale and her forehead was covered with beads of sweat, obviously struggling to resist the invasion of this mysterious force.

In the midst of the chaos, Elena suddenly realized that some strange sounds appeared in these memory fragments. It was her childhood voiceprint, but it was twisted and distorted, sounding full of strangeness. "You guys, this sound ... is my childhood voice pattern, but it seems to have been tampered with by something." She said in horror.

Kyle concentrated on the sounds, and he realized that there seemed to be some kind of message hidden in these sound patterns. "There seems to be traces of code in these sound patterns, could it be that someone is purposely using these memories to convey some sort of message?" He speculated.

Lucien, on the other hand, was getting a little impatient as he waved his wolf claws around, trying to dispel the memory images. "Screw the message, let's get rid of these pesky things first!" He roared, but his attacks had no effect on these memory fragments.

As the memory fragments continued to spread, they began to spread through the quantum network. Like a terrible plague, it quickly spread to all corners. More and more people were affected, and their minds were implanted with Elena's memories and that weird childhood voiceprint.

Kyle realized that this could be a huge crisis. "If these memories and voices continue to spread, the entire world's perception will be turned upside down! We must find the source as soon as possible and stop this memory plague." His eyes revealed a firm determination, and despite the critical situation, he remained calm and thought of ways to deal with it.

Elena also knew the gravity of the situation, and she forced herself to endure the headache and use the power of the Blood Crystal Matrix to try to control these memory fragments. He said aloud.

A glimmer of hope lit up in Elena and Lucien's eyes as they listened to Kyle's words. "Okay, let's try!" Elena said, bracing herself and preparing to cooperate with Kyle.

Kyle quickly pulled out some instruments and began adjusting their frequencies in an attempt to create a field that would trigger quantum decoherence. Lucien, on the other hand, guarded them from any other surprises.

Under Kyle's efforts, a field emitting a strange light gradually formed. He carefully brought the field close to those memory fragments, nervously observing the effect.

The moment the field came into contact with the memory fragments, those fragments began to tremble violently and their light became unstable. But soon, they seemed to adapt to the field's influence and began to re-stabilize as they continued to spread.

"No, it's still not enough!" Kyle frowned and increased the energy output of the field. His forehead was covered with beads of sweat, and his eyes revealed a look of determination; no matter how much difficulty he encountered, he would not give up.

Just then, the four-dimensional unicorn suddenly let out a chirp. It flew above the field and used its unicorn to release a mysterious energy that intermingled with the field energy created by Kyle.

With the help of the four-dimensional unicorn, the effects of quantum decoherence began to appear. The glow of those memory fragments gradually dimmed and began to become blurred, and the speed of propagation also slowed down significantly.

"It's working! Continue!" Kyle shouted excitedly, he and Elena and Lucian all saw hope and worked harder to keep the field stable.

Kyle also realized the severity of the problem. "We have to find a way to trap these fogs, we can't let them leave this place." He thought quickly, trying to find a feasible solution.

Lucien then looked around for something he could use to trap the boson fog. "Is there anything here that can block this fog?" He said to himself as he searched.

Just then, Elena discovered a special area in the ruins. The energy fluctuations in this area were very different from the surrounding area, and there seemed to be a powerful force suppressing the other energies. "Maybe we can lure these fogs to that area and use the energy there to trap them." She said as she pointed to that area.

Kyle and Lucien immediately understood what Elena meant. Together with the four-dimensional unicorns, they began to guide the bosonic fog towards that area. Under their efforts, the bosonic fog gradually moved closer towards the target area.

However, in the process, the boson fog suddenly attacked. They released a beam of energy that shot towards Kyle and the others. Kyle quickly fired out defensive energy with his Geiger Counter, fending off the attack. "Everyone be careful!" He shouted.

Lucian, on the other hand, swung his wolf claws in an attempt to break up the energy beams. "These damnable fogs, let's see if I don't break you up!" He roared.

Elena also manipulated the Blood Crystal Matrix, releasing a powerful energy shield to protect everyone. "We can't be stopped by them, we must lead them to that area!" She said firmly.

In a fierce confrontation, they finally lured the boson fog to a special area of the ruins. The moment the boson fog entered that area, a powerful gravitational force sucked them in tightly. Those fogs began to compress under the force of gravity, gradually becoming smaller and smaller.

"It worked!" Kyle breathed a sigh of relief, his body somewhat weakened from overwork.

Elena and Lucien also showed a relieved smile. "It's finally resolved." Elena said, but her eyes still revealed a hint of worry.

However, before they could rest, they realized that the source of this memory plague seemed to point to the 14th Calibrator. "There seems to be a 14th Calibrator behind all these memory fragments and viruses. What kind of plot is it hatching?" Kyle frowned, his mind filled with doubts.
