At this time, Kim Jungho and Kim Seoyoung stared at their son.
Kim Seoyoung praised, "Elder is truly wise! I will not forget this favor. Thank you for bestowing such a brilliant name upon our son. It's truly the most fitting name for him."
Kim Jungho abruptly began kowtowing to healer Choi Minseok. "Choi Minseok is wise. Senior is very wise! A thousand thanks, dear senior!"
Haji stared at all this happening. He had stopped laughing a while ago and said to himself in his mind,
"Damn, I thought I was crazy. These rapscallions sure do have a few screws loose. Although, I must say, Kim Yulryong is a sublime name... To think that a country bumpkin from the low-rank, sweaty jungles found deep in the boonies could conjure up such a profound concoction of a name."
Haji paused, trying his best not to stroke his nonexistent beard because he was now in the body of a baby.
He sighed in his mind, "Then again, I can't really talk like an ingrate. No matter how much this place sucks compared to the other areas, at the very least, it's much safer being born of poor descent here as opposed to some crazy rich area rife with high rank cultivators where my life—and my entire family's life—lies on the whims of lords, clan elders, clan juniors... and the list goes on."
Haji briefly closed his eyes. "It's very difficult to stop myself from even the most minor habits. Hell, I can't even talk yet, or I'll blow my cover. I don't want things to go to shit so early on, now that I've gotten such a fascinating chance at what most from Earth couldn't even dream of."
Choi Minseok's face slightly reddened from the flattery of his juniors.
He subconsciously puffed up his chest without knowing, stared up to the heavens proudly, subtly waved his sleeves, and turned around, saying, "Hmph! Nonsense, nonsense—ridiculous. Quit the kowtowing, fellow juniors. I've merely done what I was ought to do.
This old man is merely glad to have lived long enough to see this fateful day. It appears that life is going to be more interesting now, and I shall do my utmost to live long enough to see Kim Yulryong's growth and blossoming. The day this fellow blooms is going to be petrifying—it will shake Heaven and Earth."
Choi Minseok walked away with his hands behind his back, thinking to himself,
"I've still got it. This old man is still cool as hell. Ah, sometimes my awesomeness... it's simply too much!"
He began reminiscing about his days as a youth, then quickly stopped and sighed while thinking,
"This boy is merely a couple of seconds old, and the first thing he did was begin laughing. What type of unfathomable genius is he going to become? But even so, I would never want to have been born with such talent. There's no doubt that Heaven's will is cruel—emotionless, only favoring balance. Hence, the repercussions for such strength are going to be some type of great weakness so terrifying that I do not even wish to consider just what that weakness might be."
Choi Minseok continued pondering,
"Should the boy not have any weaknesses, that will certainly anger Heaven's will. He will be met with heavenly tribulations in Heaven's attempt to smite such a threat—such an imbalance in the system—down."
< Five Years Later >
The sound of leaves blowing in the wind; tree branches rustling and swaying the wooden floorboards and walls slightly creaking, all this could be heard, but the only thing Haji could hear these past few days was an incessant loud ringing; he didn't know if this came from his heart, soul, mind or all of the above.
Insane he was going insane Haji was knee deep in insanity; needless to say he was very agitated and standing on the very brink of lunacy, why was this? Why was Haji suffering so?
He didn't need a single second more to wonder why he had already figured it out, the cause of his agony these past few days was the by-product of weeks, months and years of pent up frustration.
Having to force down his yearning desire to finally begin cultivating; Haji knew crystal clear that he could not just begin reading cultivation books or even martial art books for that is much too strange and frightening a thing of a mere baby to do, it would attract far too much unwanted attention and threaten his new life that he had barely managed to get by surviving that rift even the rift appearing there was impossible for his original world; there's no doubt he lucked out big time.
So there's no way in Hell that Haji was ever going to give this all up, in fact he was obsessively planning these past few years in silence; he was so obsessed with his health and livelihood that it would put any jew to shame.
Despite Haji cultivating in private he made some progress which is already extremely impressive for most teenagers in this world to do much less a baby, but alas Haji had hit a roadblock a barrier he didn't know how to break no matter how much he pondered and comprehended this worlds laws and energy Haji couldn't go any further in his cultivating, in fact all this progress he has made was from trial & error paired with immense reflection.
He had hit this wall when he was 3 years old, but he held down the desire to go ask his parents to borrow a cultivation book due to the huge risks involved and the possible eyes watching around.
After all you never really know when an immortal or even any cultivator above average mortal rank is watching from Haji's knowledge in his past life with all the fantasy books most notably Xianxia.
Hence Haji was all too familiar with just how in touch these cultivators ranging from above average mortal realm all the way to immortal realm were with almost every little detail that would go on in this world, stemming from their hunger in reaching higher levels and to do that one must know of as much worldly events and overall occurences going on such as any rising talents, as much rumours that are beneficial enough to pique their interests; rising talents are of course not their only concerns to smite down any competitions before they grow to become a tiger that threatens taking any secret treasures they are looking for beforehand and even potentially getting robbed, turned into a slave or killed to raise their own cultivation it's truly a jungle out here.
Where knowledge is a huge boost to all cultivators which is why many in Xianxia novels were obsessive in their thirst for knowing the latest news and gossip, after all no matter how powerful you are what's the use if you don't know where to go plunder and are oblivious to worldly affairs?
Or not knowing the competition if there is ten people, a thousand people or a hundred thousand people much more powerful than you? In most cases peoples demise whether it be getting killed, tricked, robbed and more were usually due to underestimating the opposition or even worse backstabbing allies and immortals weren't any different.
So how could Haji; how could Kim Yulryong be unfamiliar to this?
Which is why Haji gritted his teeth and bided his time planning, enduring all this time; not only planning in this regard, but also planning and scheming ahead in many other areas as well.
Eventually the ringing in his ear that was due to all that built up frustration that was concentrated to almost atom sized shrieking and ringing in his ear very loudly, this was when Haji finally had enough; he began thinking even quicker, even deeper and after several hard minutes of rumination he finally had an idea.
He crawled into his fathers room on all fours and commenced his nonsensical babbling befitting an ignorant child. Except Haji was doing this intentionally for he had no choice but to be thorough in this world; after all he didn't know just how oppressive the immortals were here.
Haji found his fathers study and climbed it and began checking the drawers "Let's see what this geezer has in store for this King! For this Emperor!" Haji proclaimed in his mind while excitedly continuing to look around and opening drawers.
"Ah! Good! A manual! It's a basic manual, but even this would cost a fortune for those who aren't loaded to the gills with the MOO-LA with the green with the coin with the kaching-kaching and the bling-bling BABY!" Haji thought as he started to read the contents of the manual.
Haji was flicking through the pages he was learning about the cultivation system of this world and licked his lips.
The lowest of the low were mortals those without any cultivation at all and were usually slaves or very poor villagers in some rural areas, but usually their village chief would have some cultivation and the level of it would depend on that chief's fortuitous encounters and or raw talent. Although it would tend to be fortuitous encounters, due to the fact that villagers in those areas had very little knowledge regarding cultivation and how to cultivate.
At Rank 1 are those that have cultivated the Black Celestial Orb this is the first of the Six Celestial Orbs.
Orbs have 3 stages: Low Stage, Mid Stage and Peak stage after peak stage the cultivator would push to eventually breakthrough to the next Rank of their respective Celestial Orb.
Rank 1: Black Celestial Orb (黑天珠)
Low Stage: Obsidian Glow (entirely black and emits a very dark grey glow)
Mid Stage: Dark Grey Sheen (a balanced dark grey tone)
Peak Stage: Shadowed Grey (lighter than dark grey, close to grey but slightly darker)
People who were at this rank were the weakest cultivators, but their strength compared to regular mortals with no cultivation was like Heaven and Earth. These cultivators are below average even for most junior cultivators; usually those at this rank were new to cultivating only a few years in or a few months in depending on their talent, hard work, skill and mindset.
Rank 2 cultivators are at the Grey Celestial Orb stage this is the average rank where most cultivators are at, but only a few are at rank 2 mid stage or peak Stage because this range albeit small is hundreds of times more difficult than rank 1 low to peak stage so those who are at the mid stage of rank 2 are titled masters of the mortal world, but are usually called master cultivator or master for short and cultivators at the peak stage of rank 2 are titled senior master cultivator or senior master for short.
Rank 2: Grey Celestial Orb (灰天珠)
Low Stage: Dusk Haze (mostly grey with a faint hint of blue)
Mid Stage: Azure-Tinged Grey (a more noticeable blue undertone emerging)
Peak Stage: Twilight Grey (almost blue, with only a sliver of grey remaining)
As for those who are at rank 3 these people are a step below immortal ascension, usually these cultivators are clan/sect elders, Ancestors of weaker clans/sects or tremendously talented prodigal clan juniors that only appear once or twice every 3 thousand years.
These cultivators are titled Mortal Grandmasters, Ancient Grandmasters and one to one hundredth pillar depending on what stage the rank 3 cultivator is at; immediately after one reaches rank 3 they have to go somewhere only those at rank 3 peak stage and above know and will be given a scroll detailing when and where they are summoned to next for the pillar ranking tournament where those that win are granted 3 of whatever they wish that belongs to the loser and the loser has the right to deny this if they are willing to get killed and have their soul completely stripped off of their cultivation and placed in the reincarnation cycle with or without their memories depending on if they are willing to swear fealty to one of the Ancient clans or Ancient sects. The winner then gets a monetary reward and some cultivation pills and a higher pillar ranking.
This tournament is called the Hundred Pillar Rankings
The ranking system works in order of strongest to weakest pillar the strongest being 1st pillar and the weakest being 100th pillar.
Rank 3: Blue Celestial Orb (蓝天珠)
Low Stage: Pale Azure (a soft, lighter shade of blue)
Mid Stage: Deep Cerulean (a richer, darker blue)
Peak Stage: Midnight Azure (a bold, vivid blue with depth and brilliance)
Rank 4, this is the starting point for immortals cultivators are exceedingly rare these are usually leaders of ancient clans and other bigshots.
Rank 4: Red Celestial Orb (红天珠)
Low Stage: Crimson Ember (a subdued, darker red)
Mid Stage: Scarlet Glow (a more vibrant, fiery red)
Peak Stage: Radiant Vermillion (a brilliant and pure red hue)
There are currently only 3 known rank 5 cultivators alive today and they are very rarely seen by both mortals and cultivators even high ranking cultivators such as rank 3's and 4's and are constantly searching for ways or any hints of reaching the extremely sought after Rank 6 of legends that only one person in ancient immemorial legends has said to have reached and his name was Midonim.
Rank 5: White Celestial Orb (白天珠)
Low Stage: Frosted Lumina (a pale, soft white)
Mid Stage: Glimmering Ivory (a brighter, radiant white)
Peak Stage: Pure Radiance (an immaculate, dazzling white)
Other than the information already mentioned there is very little information regarding Rank 5 and Rank 6 even in immemorial scrolls, tomes, inheritances, word of mouth and other sources due to not only how rare this information is, but also due to how sought after and valuable such information is.
After all why would any person who hasn't gone completely insane share such things to potential enemies or future enemies, such things are best kept to oneself.
However that's not to say a few madmen haven't said such things, but usually they are disregarded and are paid no heed, no mind; after all who would believe the ramblings of a madman? Although sometimes some of these crazy people speak the genuine truth and there are many potential causes for this such as a madman that was a former ancient or immemorial emperor with Heaven Shattering cultivation that somehow lost his mind along the way for whatever plethora of reasons. Or a descendant of one of these cultivators who are at least Rank 4 peak stage at the weakest because only those who are atleast at the very peak of Rank 4 have any knowledge of such secrets that have been shrouded under an almost impenetrable guise of mystery.
Even most immortals don't have high enough a cultivation to be qualified to find where such information is, let alone pierce through the mysterious guise that's covering it.
Breakthrough to Rank 6:
"Heaven's Reflection (天镜升华)"
The orb is polished and purified to its ultimate form, becoming translucent and capable of reflecting the will of the heavens themselves.
Rank 6: Transparent Celestial Orb (透明天珠)
A state of complete transcendence. The orb is now formless yet perfect, embodying the essence of clarity and boundless potential.
