Want some Byakugan or nah?

Back in Eientei, Veyron floated into Yagokoro Eirin's personal dimension, telekinetically carrying a large box and a dozen or so smaller boxes.

"What kind of stuff did you bring back this time?"

Eirin looked up from the glass jars she'd been using to soak a pair of cloned Byakugan eyes and accepted one of the small boxes Veyron offered her.

"A bunch of Devil Fruits I thought were interesting—about a dozen or so—and a crate of pure gold."

Veyron gestured as he explained, "The Devil Fruits are from Hancock's world. They're created from the collective desires and beliefs of the people there. For example, because humans fear and revere lightning, a fruit like this Logia-type—the Rumble-Rumble Fruit—came into existence."

"Anyone who eats the Rumble-Rumble Fruit can turn into lightning. Physical attacks, unless they exceed a certain threshold, basically don't work on them. Same for some energy-based attacks."

"They can generate and control electricity, but there's a catch—their powers are suppressed by a certain substance from the sea in that world."

"If they come into contact with anything containing that substance, their powers shut down completely. No transformations, no abilities—nothing."

"I also brought back some Seastone, which is full of that sea-derived compound. Oh, and this book—The Devil Fruit Encyclopedia. It documents every known Devil Fruit that their world government has recorded over the past 700 years, complete with descriptions and illustrations."

"And this—" he opened the large box, revealing a dazzling golden glow that lit up the entire room, "—is pure gold. The method to refine it was lost in that world, but I managed to get my hands on a batch."

"This gold isn't just shiny—it can actually slow down the aging process. Basically, it puts your body into a near-permanent state of stasis. I found a little girl over there who's been wearing a pure gold ring for nearly two hundred years. Physically and mentally, she's still a child."

"That's… genuinely fascinating."

Eirin picked up a piece of the pure gold, feeling the strange changes it triggered in her own body. Then she asked, "Do you have any specific research goals for either of these things?"

"For the pure gold? Not really. You can study it however you want. No one I know has an immediate need for it. As for the Devil Fruits…"

Veyron paused, thinking aloud. "Let's start by trying to eliminate the weakness to Seastone. Oh, and from what I learned, Devil Fruits can actually be eaten by inanimate objects—it doesn't affect their powers at all. Meanwhile, a normal human can only eat one."

"So, if possible, I'd like you to try fusing the Door-Door Fruit with an object."

"I'll give it a shot."

Eirin set the gold back into the box and closed the lid. She motioned for Veyron to move all the crates—Devil Fruits, Seastone, the encyclopedia, and the pure gold—over to the corner of the room.

Then she raised a hand, activating a familiar multi-layered barrier around them that blocked sound and outside interference.

"Well? Don't just stand there—strip."

Once the barrier was up, and Veyron still hadn't moved, Eirin frowned and urged him again.

"…Actually, I didn't come here to unlock anyone's gene lock potential this time. But still doing it with you is fun..."

Veyron gave a light cough, starting to undress while speaking.

"I never said we were doing the T-Virus procedure."

Eirin glanced at the nearby lab bench where several empty vials sat.

"We're almost out of the previous batch. Since you're here and free, prep a fresh supply for me."

"…Can I ask what exactly those last few bottles were used for?"

Veyron winced slightly—he remembered clearly that when he left last time, most of those enhancement vials were still nearly full.

Eirin casually pointed to a large cabinet behind Veyron. Inside were over a hundred glass jars, each containing a pair of pale blue-white eyeballs suspended in liquid.

"How do you think I got all those Byakugan?"

Veyron: "..."

"Eirin, let's be fair—if I'm stripping, so are you. I've got something new in mind."

Actually, with total control over his body, Veyron could've just summoned his semen anytime he wanted—but for some reason, he didn't.

And for some other reason, Eirin never brought it up either. Maybe it was the beauty of the process itself—the tension, the quiet intimacy. Especially that secret little part where they always had to stop everything the moment Kaguya or anyone else came close to the lab.

---

Previously, Eirin had clearly made some serious breakthroughs in her Byakugan research. Her cloning techniques had reached a level of near-perfection.

So when her primary supplier of irregular materials returned…

The number of Byakugan eyes in her lab skyrocketed practically overnight.

"Eirin, you know I normally don't butt into your research…"

Houraisan Kaguya, who had been curious after seeing Veyron vanish into Eirin's personal dimension day after day from dawn until dusk, finally decided to tag along.

The moment she stepped into the lab and saw the entire wall lined with jars of Byakugan, she was momentarily stunned.

Once she regained her senses, she deadpanned:

"…But don't you two think this whole operation's a little cursed? Does Chika-chan know how many copies of her eyes are floating in here?"

"I'm sensing some heavy slander against Eirin's medical ethics," Veyron replied dryly, ruffling her hair. "Besides, this whole thing was Chika's idea. She agreed to let us clone her Byakugan, because she wants to push them to a higher level."

"…And this many still isn't enough?"

Kaguya twitched at the corner of her mouth. "At this rate, unless someone in her original world figures out cloning tech too, evolving those eyes is gonna cost an entire clan's worth of Byakugan."

And in the Naruto world, the descendants of Ōtsutsuki Hamura on the moon did literally feed a whole clan's Byakugan into one to awaken the Tenseigan.

"Actually, we probably don't need this many," Eirin spoke up, finally chiming in. "My calculations suggest that once Chika's eyes absorb about a third of what we've cloned, she'll hit the threshold for a higher-level evolution. But we don't know if the process will cause any unexpected losses…"

"So you prepped another third as backup…"

Kaguya nodded knowingly, picking up where she left off. "And another third as… backup for the backup?"

"...It's not like we have to go that far," Eirin muttered.

Besides the ones used for cloning and cultivation, she had also stocked up quite a bit of enhancement serum these past few days—enough to support her other research projects for a while.

Looking at Veyron, she casually added: "Why not try it now?"

"…Sure, why not."

At this point, Veyron didn't feel like objecting. No need to arouse Kaguya's suspicion.

Pulling up the group chat interface, he tapped on the one responsible for all this—Chika
