Chapter 039: Lamborghini Aventador

When it came to buying a car, the first thing that popped into Lu Yuan's mind was a supercar.

It wasn't that he particularly liked supercars—they were just expensive.

Of course, Lu Yuan knew that those ultra-exclusive models costing tens of millions weren't something you could snap up immediately, even with money. But while he couldn't get his hands on a multi-million-dollar hypercar right away, a few million would at least buy him something decent.

"Xiao Zhao, do you know where the nearest supercar dealership is?" Lu Yuan asked the hotel driver.

"The closest one should be the Lamborghini store," the driver replied after a moment's thought.

"Let's head there, then," Lu Yuan said, stepping into the car.

The driver couldn't help but feel a pang of envy. He knew he'd never reach Lu Yuan's level of casually buying supercars like they were bottles of water. Money really does make the world go round, he thought.

About half an hour later, Lu Yuan arrived at the Lamborghini dealership.

When the sleek black Rolls-Royce pulled into the lot, the sales staff inside erupted with excitement. This is a VIP client!

Almost every salesperson, regardless of gender, instinctively took a step forward to greet him. But after noticing their colleagues doing the same, they paused awkwardly. After a silent battle of glances, an older female salesperson was "elected" by the group to approach Lu Yuan.

"Welcome, sir! Are you here to look at cars today?"

When Lu Yuan stepped out of the car and the saleswoman saw his striking looks, her smile brightened even more. Handsome, wealthy… Why does he look like he could be my future boyfriend?

Unaware of her thoughts, Lu Yuan scanned the showroom's lineup of supercars. "What's the most expensive model you have here?"

The question reeked of nouveau riche bravado. If it had come from a balding, middle-aged man with a beer belly, the saleswoman might have cringed. But seeing Lu Yuan's face—which rivaled the handsomeness of our dear readers—she decided it sounded perfectly confident.

"For the priciest option, I'd recommend the Huracán," she said eagerly. "It's equipped with a 5.2-liter V10 engine, and…"

Lu Yuan cut her off. "What's the maximum price?"

"Without customizations, the total comes to around 4.5 million yuan," she answered.

"4.5 million…" Lu Yuan nodded, about to say "I'll take it," when his gaze landed on an orange Aventador parked across the showroom. "Wait, isn't that an Aventador? I heard those are even more expensive."

Truthfully, Lu Yuan had only looked up the Aventador—nicknamed the "Great Bull" and one of Lamborghini's flagship models—on the way here. Though he didn't care much for supercars, its design had caught his eye.

"Apologies, sir. That car belongs to a client and isn't for sale…" the saleswoman hurriedly explained.

Before she could finish, a voice interrupted: "Who said it's not for sale? I drove it here to sell."

Lu Yuan turned to see a girl with pale blue hair chewing gum, her eyes appraising him. She had delicate features but an aura of arrogance, as if the world owed her a favor.

"Miss Xie Qingning!" the saleswoman exclaimed, then whispered to Lu Yuan, "This is the Aventador's owner."

Xie Qingning looked Lu Yuan up and down. "You want to buy my car?"

Lu Yuan disliked her attitude, but he was here for a car. "Yes. Are you willing to part with it?"

"Part with it?" Xie Qingning snorted. "I'm selling it because I'm bored of it. It's fully customized—check if it suits your taste." She strode toward the car without waiting for a reply.

Lu Yuan followed.

Xie Qingning popped the scissor door open and gestured for him to get in. "Bought it two months ago. The seats are rock-hard, the suspension's stiff, and the engine heat practically roasts your legs…"

As she complained, Lu Yuan slid into the driver's seat. Despite his indifference to supercars, the Aventador's visceral presence—or perhaps the primal thrill of speed—stirred something in him.

Before Xie Qingning finished her rant, Lu Yuan said, "I'll take it. How much?"

Xie Qingning blinked, then grinned. "Decisive! You're almost as quick as me." Whether complimenting him or herself, she added, "I paid 11 million. Since you're straightforward, I'll knock off a million. Ten million, and it's yours."

"Deal. Where do we handle the paperwork?"

"Wait here. I've got a contact at the DMV." She pulled out her phone.

Nearby, the saleswoman gaped as a 10-million-yuan Aventador changed hands in under two minutes. Is this how the rich live? Buying a Great Bull like it's groceries?

Neither Lu Yuan nor Xie Qingning noticed her shock. They settled into the dealership's lounge to wait for her DMV contact.

Twenty minutes later, a young man arrived. Xie Qingning drove the Aventador as the group headed to the DMV. Her contact expedited the process, and within half an hour, the car was transferred to Lu Yuan's name.

The orange Aventador was now his.

As Lu Yuan transferred 10 million yuan to Xie Qingning, system notifications chimed:

Vroom—

The moment Lu Yuan pressed the ignition, the V12 engine's roar shattered the showroom's silence. The dashboard glowed an icy blue, and the carbon-fiber seat vibrated faintly against his spine.

"Hey, don't gun it yet," Xie Qingning warned, leaning on the window. "It's in track mode. Soften the suspension for city driving—I don't want to see you trending as 'Aventador Owner Breaks Back' tomorrow."

Lu Yuan glanced at the central display, where five track presets glowed. When his finger hovered over the "Nürburgring Extreme" option, the dashboard flashed a warning: Track Use Only.

"Thanks." He twisted the drive mode dial to "Street." The 790-horsepower beast quieted to an amber glow. As the rear diffuser retracted, he noticed faint scratches on the door from Xie Qingning's nails.

The moment the payment notification chimed, a translucent screen flickered in his vision:

Spending Critical Hit! 10x refund activated! 100 million yuan deposited to Swiss anonymous account.

Lu Yuan's knuckles whitened on the Alcantara steering wheel. The system's even crazier than I thought. Spending 10 million to gain 100 million explained why his "Wealth" stat in the attributes panel felt scorching hot.

"Hey!" Xie Qingning rapped the roof. "Wanna hit Nanshan Tunnel tonight? No speed cameras after midnight." She straddled a matte-black Ducati V4, her racing jacket zipped just low enough to reveal a flicker of flame tattoo on her collarbone.

A new system alert flashed:
