Chapter 8

Even though my legs were numb, my heart fluttered with a tingling sensation.

Faye crouched there, pressing a few times before looking up at me with a flushed face:

"If you don't like others massaging your legs, then... can I do it? I promise I'll do a good job!"

The way she was staring at me was really unfair...

I turned my face away and coughed: "Do as you please."

The sunlight was just right, falling on Faye's light brown hair, as if enveloping her in a halo.

I found myself lost in the sight without realizing it.

A sharp yell snapped me back to reality—

"What are you two doing?!"

Turning to see Lavender, I instinctively frowned: "Who let you in? Where are the bodyguards?!"

Lavender, carrying a familiar lunchbox, glared at Faye and me with puffed-up cheeks, her tone spoiled yet matter-of-fact:

"As if the bodyguards could stop me?! You've told them before that no matter when I come to see you, they're not allowed to block me!"

I rubbed my forehead.
