War Zone part 5

Lor stood up and walked away from Odd and David, then said cheerfully, "Don't worry, I'm not the type to bother others because of my status or talent. So you can relax."

"This guy is really full of himself," David muttered in annoyance. He didn't like having a careless person in their club.

"But I have to admit," David continued, "while researching his background, I was genuinely shocked. He's a genius in every sense of the word. It's a mystery what happened to him."

David couldn't help but look at Lor with admiration.

"I wonder how you even found that information," Odd asked David curiously.

"It's not secret information or anything," David replied casually. "You can just look it up on the Raven App, and you'll find everything you want about him."

"Raven App?" Odd repeated, confused.

"Yeah, why are you acting like you've never heard of it?" David asked, a clear look of confusion on his face.

"Oh, crap, I said that without thinking," Odd thought, worried that David might get suspicious. "I just thought you meant Twitter or something," he quickly made up a weak excuse.

"Twitter? What, did you come from the year 2022 or something?" David joked.

"What?! Of course not!" Odd was shocked by David's unexpected response, which almost sounded like he was reading his mind. "What makes you think that?"

"Well, Twitter was invented in that year, so it's only natural for me to think that way. Man, are you living in the past or what? You need to embrace the modern era," David sighed.

Odd was stunned by David's words.

"Wait… wasn't it invented way before that?"

He was confused but quickly brushed the thought aside.

"This is a parallel world, after all. Some differences are to be expected. In fact, everything is different when I really think about it."

"Anyway, it's not like that app is fun to use or anything. The people on it just won't stop squawking."

"Squawking? Don't tell me that's what tweets are called here..." Odd thought, almost laughing.

"It really is like a parallel version of Twitter."

"Hmm… from what David said, this app actually sounds useful. I wonder if I can find anything there that could make me stronger. I might check it out later."

Right now, Odd's main goal was to reach the Beginner level.

Only then would he be able to use Syncro energy and increase it to strengthen his Wish Limit.

March 21, 3022 - 10:30 PM

Odd was browsing the Raven App through the Syncro Network. He had planned to return to the Land of War, but since a person could only go back a day after dying, he had to wait. Now that he could return, he decided not to go tonight.

Even though it was a great training ground, he'd be instantly crushed by people like the Corruption Slayer if he faced them. And even if dying there wasn't real, it still wasn't something he wanted to experience again.

"Finding information on this app is easy. Unlike the public network, it has clearer details, even about lesser-known topics. And it's kind of funny how people call their posts 'squawks.'"

Odd couldn't help but smile helplessly.

After thinking for a moment, he typed into the search bar:

"Tools to reach the Beginner level."

Immediately, a flood of squawks appeared in the search results.

Most of them pointed to one answer.

There was a picture of a small fruit that looked like an apple but was purple with large green leaves.

The Violet Soul Fruit

A fruit that has the ability to enhance one's spiritual power, bringing them closer to the Beginner level.

There was no definitive way to reach the Beginner level using an external tool.

To become a true Syncro Warrior, one had to complete the process of Soul Synchronization with the Sky. This required enough physical and spiritual power—only then would the Higher One grant them the ability to use Syncro and strengthen it.

So, no tool could directly increase a person's level.

However, there were supportive methods, and the Violet Soul Fruit was considered the most effective aid for reaching Beginner level.

The High-Dimensional Shift

When the High-Dimensional Shift occurred, natural elements in the world evolved due to the increase in Syncro energy on Earth.

Even certain natural foods became capable of:

Boosting a Syncro Soldier's power

Healing injuries or illnesses

The Violet Soul Fruit was one such food.

For those who had not yet reached Beginner level, consuming the fruit strengthened their spiritual power. After that, all they needed was enough physical strength to handle this power, and they'd be one step closer to completing Soul Synchronization with the Sky.

"This fruit seems really useful. Maybe I should buy it."

That thought lasted only a second before Odd froze at the listed price.

10,000 Bronze Syncro Stones

"That's enough to pay my house bills for a whole year!"

Odd let out a sigh of disbelief. He hadn't expected that much.

And then, another shock.

"The fruit isn't available in Silo City?"

This was odd (no pun intended).

The Violet Soul Fruit could be found almost everywhere in the Royal Empire, yet not a single one was available in Silo City?

To buy or sell something from another city, one needed a "Law License", which was only obtainable after becoming an official Syncro Soldier.

So in Odd's case, he not only needed the money but also a Law License to purchase the fruit.

Technically, he could ask Aunt Tia to buy it for him—since she was at Beginner level and had a Law License.

But there was no way he'd ask her to spend that much money on him.

"Is there really no way to get the fruit for a cheaper price?"

Odd sighed in frustration.

But suddenly, a thought struck him.

During his time in this world, he discovered that there was one way to obtain a license even better than a Law License.

And he could get it even as a normal person.

The Explorers' Guild

The Explorers' Guild was an organization formed only 70 years ago, making it relatively new.

Yet, despite that, the guild had incredibly strong and talented Syncro Soldiers.

However, what truly made the Explorers' Guild powerful was that its leader, Grand Liberty, was an Emperor-level warrior.

Because of this, the guild's strength rivaled that of the Nine Emperors' armies, even though they were fewer in number.

The guild was created with one purpose:

To explore the world and uncover its secrets after the High-Dimensional Shift introduced countless new entities and mysteries.

As an independent organization, the Explorers' Guild wasn't bound by the Nine Emperors' laws.

And most importantly…

Anyone could join.

Regardless of background or race, the guild allowed people to become members.

Even ordinary people could apply, as long as they had the necessary potential.

And once accepted, members received a special license—

The Explorer's License

It came with many benefits, including the ability to:

Buy and sell items across different regions without needing a Law License

Get an 80% discount on original prices

"From what I've heard, to take the entry exam for the Explorers' Guild, I need to find one of its members."

The guild had several members stationed in almost every city, and there were also secret branches for testing new applicants.

Odd's eyes sharpened as he thought about it.

"How do I find a member of the Explorers' Guild?"

Most of the guild's members were highly secretive.

Usually, they left clues scattered throughout different places, but those hints were hard to decipher for someone like him.

Odd clenched his fists.

"Even if I manage to enter the test… can I really pass it?"
