THE VEIL & ITS POWER SYSTEMS
I. Understanding the Veil
The Veil is a dimensional barrier that separates the human world from the unknown.
It leaks Aether, the fundamental force that fuels all supernatural abilities. Only the strongest beings can traverse the Veil, bending its chaotic nature to their will.
Power Systems
1. Aetherforging (The Path of War)
Aetherforgers mold raw energy into physical constructs—swords, shields, gauntlets, or pure destructive blasts.
• Weakness: Overuse leads to Aether Burn, damaging the body.
• Strength: Raw offensive capability, with devastating attacks.
Aetherforging Power Levels:
1. Sparkborn – Basic users who can manifest small Aether weapons.
2. Emberforged – Can shape weapons at will and enhance their bodies.
3. Aetherknight – Masters of battle, capable of forging multiple weapons at once.
4. Overlord – Can unleash Aether Overload, a suicidal burst that levels entire battlefields (Revik's state).
2. Wraithbinding (The Path of Corruption)
By absorbing spirits of the dead, Wraithbinders gain supernatural abilities, enhanced speed, and heightened senses.
• Weakness: The more spirits consumed, the higher the risk of insanity.
• Strength: Gain Echo Abilities—fragments of the dead's skills.
Wraithbinding Power Levels:
1. Hollowborn – Can hear whispers of spirits but control only one.
2. Phantomwalker – Controls up to five spirits, gaining unique abilities.
3. Dreadlord – Masters of Wraithbinding, capable of summoning spectral armies.
4. Eclipsed One – Becomes a hybrid of Wraith and Human, transcending mortality.
3. Aetherweaving (The Path of Precision)
Aetherweavers manipulate energy threads, distorting space, time, and perception.
• Weakness: Requires extreme focus; one miscalculation can unravel their own existence.
• Strength: Can create illusions, barriers, and warp reality in controlled ways.
Aetherweaving Power Levels:
1. Threadwalker – Can craft weak energy nets and basic illusions.
2. Dreamweaver – Controls larger fields, disrupting enemy movements.
3. Veilshaper – Can alter reality in short bursts (e.g., freezing time for a second).
4. Archweaver – Bends the Veil itself, warping entire battlefields.
4. The Hollow Path (The Path of Oblivion)
Hollowwalkers sever their connection to Aether, becoming ghostlike entities immune to conventional attacks.
• Weakness: Slowly erases emotions and humanity, turning them into husks.
• Strength: Can phase through attacks, resist Aether effects, and erase enemies with Hollow Strikes.
Hollow Path Power Levels:
1. Abyss Seeker – Gains the ability to flicker in and out of existence.
2. Void Stalker – Can erase small portions of reality, disrupting enemy abilities.
3. Ethereal Revenant – Exists partially in the Veil, immune to most damage.
4. The Nameless One – Loses all identity and emotion, becoming a living void.
The strongest warriors often blend multiple power systems, but doing so is rare like extremely rare and I guess you know by now that that is what our MC will basically be doing.
[ I know you expected it after reading the above text so]
The most feared beings are those who have reached the peak of their respective paths—Overlords, Eclipsed Ones, Archweavers, and Nameless Ones.
