Sebastian Gray sat hunched over his computer, sifting through case files for any overlooked clues. Across the room, Lily White stood frozen in front of the coffee machine, her brow furrowed in confusion.
"Why is this coffee machine so different from the one at home?" she muttered.
After a moment of deliberation, she grabbed a handful of coffee beans, tossed them into a cup of boiling water, and stirred in a sugar cube. Satisfied with her ingenuity, she proudly presented the concoction to Sebastian.
"Here, drink it."
Sebastian absentmindedly took a sip, then froze. His eyes dropped to the cup, now filled with floating coffee beans. He turned to Lily, who was beaming with pride.
"Do you… not know coffee beans need to be ground first?"
Lily blinked innocently. "Is it not okay to brew it like this?"
Sebastian took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to scream. "Let me show you how it's done."
After a quick demonstration, he asked, "Got it now?"
"Yeah, I got it!" Lily declared confidently.
Sebastian nodded, relieved. "Good. Practice while I talk to the captain."

**James Morrison's Office**
"James, I've been thinking," Sebastian began. "The night John Wilson died, we had the area under surveillance. How did the Ghost confirm his death?"
James paused, then his eyes widened. "You think he was nearby?"
"Exactly. Same with David Smith's escape. The Ghost had to be close to guide him. If we find someone who was near both scenes, we might have our suspect."
James slammed his desk. "Let's get on it!"
Sebastian left, less optimistic but unwilling to dampen James's enthusiasm.

**Back in the Office**
Sebastian returned to chaos. Lily stood panicked by the coffee machine, sparks flying from the blender. A civilian staff member unplugged the machine, averting disaster.
"What happened?" Sebastian demanded.
"I… I dropped the key into the blender," Lily stammered, tears welling up.
Sebastian sighed, his anger melting at her wide, guilty eyes. "Just… clean this up. And don't touch anything without my permission."

**Later That Evening**
After a long discussion with Goodman David about the Ghost's psychological profile, Sebastian returned to find Lily asleep on the sofa, drooling and mumbling.
"Wake up. It's time to go home."
Lily jolted awake. "I wasn't sleeping!"
As they left, they overheard whispers from the office:
"That new girl? Total mess. Must have connections to get in."
Lily's eyes reddened, but Sebastian smirked. "Let them talk. I'm the one with the most connections here. Compared to me, you're nothing."
Lily laughed through her tears. "True!"
"Just… don't blow up my office again. I can't afford the damages."
"I didn't mean to!"
