Dawn and Done

I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear. I groggily reached over to turn it off and sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. That's when I noticed that Cameron wasn't in his bed. I got out of bed and began to search for him, calling out his name.

"Cameron, where are you, man?"

I heard a faint response coming from the balcony. I walked over to the sliding glass door and pushed it open, stepping out onto the balcony.

Cameron was standing at the railing, staring out at the city skyline. He turned to me with a look of deep contemplation on his face.

"Hey, Chris," he said, his voice low and serious. "I was just thinking... life is so short, you know? We take it for granted, thinking we've got all the time in the world. But we don't."

I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of unease wash over me. Where was he going with this?

"I'm grateful for life, Chris," he continued. "And I'm grateful for friends like you. You saved my life, man. I'll never forget that."

I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at Cameron. He was a good guy, and I was lucky to have him as a friend.

Just then, Larysa walked into the room, a look of concern on her face.

"Hey guys, have you seen the news?" she asked, holding up her phone.

We shook our heads, and she walked over to the TV, turning it on. The news anchor's face filled the screen, and we listened in stunned silence as he announced that the President of the United States had issued a sanction on Russia from the UN.

The room fell silent as we digested the news. This was big. This was huge.

Suddenly, Cameron spoke up, his voice filled with determination.

"We need to get to the bottom of this, guys. We can't just sit back and do nothing."

I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of purpose wash over me. We were in this together, and we were going to see it through.

But little did we know, our actions would have consequences. Consequences that would lead us down a dangerous path, one that would put our lives at risk.

And it all started with a decision, a decision to travel to Israel for a general summit, a summit that we weren't allowed to attend. But we went anyway, undercover, and it was a decision that would change our lives forever.

We were arrested and thrown in jail, and as I sat in my cell, staring at the cold, grey walls, I couldn't help but wonder... Where did it all go wrong?
