"Now we can do this easy way, or the hard way" Satoshi smirked as he started off. Making himself comfortable next to a bedridden Viktor.
Viktor, clearly in pain groaned "Fuck you and yours! "
Satoshi "Haha, every man has a price. Quote yours and I will double that"
Viktor, "I am only loyal to my Capo" he really meant himself. As he saw himself after ivans assumed demise.
Satoshi, "Your Capo is dead. I own you now"
Viktor coughing, "Nobody owns me bitch, I'm a free bird. A free fucking eagle you fucking female dog. Only I choose which tree, which branch to perch on"
Satoshi, "Your take my guy. You either give me what I want, or I will take it."
Viktor, "Take it if you can. But expect to trade in your head for it"
Satoshi, "You have it easy, don't take the hard way. You have 24 hours to make up your mind. After that, the offer is off the table"
Viktor :"Go stick that offer where the sun don't shine"
With that Satoshi walked out of the medical suit hidden deep in the basement of Ivan's residence. Viktor had been rescued by his comrades and taken there for treatment. He was set to take over ivans position as Capo. Something that made him a person of interest to Satoshi. They wanted the same thing. Power.
However, the fact that he had even bothered trying to negotiate and broker a truce told Viktor that had some unseen weakness. Something made Satoshi uneasy. A chink in his armor. And Viktor, who has a sixth sense for peoples weaknesses was going to sniff it out. Or die trying.
Satoshi on the other hand was concerned that Ivans body had not been found at the scene. That meant he might be alive. If he was, then Satoshi and his empire were at risk. A wounded lion was the most dangerous. A wounded Ivan was not an enemy any sane would wish on themselves. And he now seemed to be in the custody of the one man that could make Genghis Khan look like a Saint, Alexei Prighozin.
He hoped Alexei had had Ivan killed. But if so, why carry his body away from the scene of battle? This only meant one thing. Ivan was alive. And this could only mean bad news. Bad news for Satoshi. News so bad that he even considered going back to Japan to confront the Yakuza who he had betrayed years earlier and fled to Russia. Or was it the Yakuza that betrayed him? In this shady kingdoms of thieves there was no telling the right from the left.
In the end Satoshi decided to prepare for battle on two fronts. One here in Russia against Ivans ghost and potentially Romeo. And another back in his ancestral home in Tokyo, Japan, where he would have to face off against his father and his senior brothers. The crypto brothers. Only one caveat, for the first time ever, money could not save him. He was up against powers whose loyalty could not be bought with money. Blood was the price. Streets would painted red on two different corners of the world. This was concerning even for one with a heart of stone like Satoshi. He was worried.
Meanwhile Viktor consolidated his grip on power in Ivans empire. Knowledge is power, that he had known for the longest time. As such Viktor had spent time and effort learning the inner workings of Ivan's empire. This was a major risk, because had Ivan found out that Viktor was snooping around he would have had him killed ages ago.
The risk had paid off. As all of Ivans men looked up to him for guidance, and unanimously considered him the next Capo. As such an oath taking ceremony was scheduled for the night after Satoshis visit. All the men would come together to spill blood as they swore allegiance to the new man in charge. Viktor would finally have the keys to power. Power itself.
