Chapter 2: The Blood of Titans

### **Zane's Reckoning**

The Betrayer's smile was a blade in the dim cave light. "You look like your mother," he said, void-rotted fingers tracing the icy runes on the wall. "Same stubborn glare. Same weakness for heroes."

Zane's hand tightened on his dagger. "You're not real. You died in the hive."

"Died? No. I *evolved*." The Betrayer gestured to the runes flaring around them. "The titan beneath Frostspire slept for millennia, bound by the First Pact. But your little Veilwalker friend inverted the Pact when she shattered the hive. Now, the titan stirs… and it *hungers*."

A tremor shook the cave, ice shards raining down. Zane's shadows stirred, the Heart's voice hissing, *Kill him. Claim his power.*

"Join me," the Betrayer urged. "Our bloodline was meant to rule Primal and human alike. Together, we'll harness the titan and rebuild this world—no more fractures, no more weaklings like your precious Thalia."

Zane lunged, shadows arcing—but the Betrayer dissolved, his laughter echoing. "Run home, nephew. The titan wakes. And when it does, you'll beg for my help."

### **Sari's Awakening**

Sari's fingertips brushed the Covenant Stone shard. It pulsed, violet light bleeding into the ice. The Primal wolf snarled, pinning her wrist with a paw.

**"This is not a toy, Kaelis. The titan's prison is woven into these mountains. Wake it, and you unleash a storm even the Veilwalkers could not contain."**

"But the Stone *wants* me to use it," Sari argued, her eyes glowing brighter. "I hear it… singing."

The wolf's starry gaze softened. **"The song is a dirge. Your ancestors used such relics to bind, not free."**

Another tremor split the ice. The shard flared, and Sari's vision fractured—a colossal figure chained beneath the Frostspire, its roar shaking the roots of the world.

"It's hurting," she whispered. "I have to help it."

Before the wolf could stop her, she slammed the shard into the ice.

Light erupted. The mountain screamed.

### **Lysandra's Gambit**

The Freewell Settlement's walls shuddered as Lysandra stormed into the war room. Lira stood over the relic maps, her void-rotted eye twitching.

"The spiral isn't random," Lira said, tracing the tremors' paths. "It's a summoning circle. The titan isn't just waking—it's being *pulled* here."

Lysandra's fist clenched. "By who?"

The door burst open. Scouts dragged in Sari, her hands bound, eyes still flickering violet. "Found her in the Frostspire foothills. The ice is melting. And *something* is climbing out."

Lysandra knelt, gripping Sari's chin. "What did you do, girl?"

Sari trembled. "I-I didn't mean to—"

The ground heaved. A roar, deeper than thunder, rolled across the settlement.

### **The Titan Emerges**

Zane staggered into Freewell as the first peak of Frostspire shattered. From the avalanche of ice and stone rose a figure—a titan of obsidian and starlight, its body a lattice of fractured Primal runes. Each step cracked the earth; each breath warped the air.

The Betrayer's voice slithered through the chaos. *"Beautiful, isn't it? The First Pact's final failure."*

Vyrthax bounded to Zane's side, fur bristling. **"The cub awakened it. The titan seeks the Covenant Stone—to finish the Betrayer's work."**

Lysandra's forces scrambled, sunsteel cannons training on the titan. Lira gripped Sari's shoulder. "Can you stop it?"

Sari's tears glowed violet. "I don't know how."

Above them, the titan raised a clawed hand—and the sky split anew.
