Trapped

The lieutenant in charge, his real name was William Bart.

You see, apart from being the head of the military academy William also had another identity…

He was a spy for a very powerful organization, one so great the Elyon Federation couldn't even fathom. As for why he was placed in such a backwaters place.

It was simply because from where he came from, he could barely amount to a mere cannon fodder, he was one of the weakest and most talentless in his organization.

He was of no use to them other than to become a spy in such a desolate region.

Which was quite much, cause William was hiding his true powers, in truth he was probably the most powerful being in Elyon as of now, well, that is if one didn't include the deceased Maya Bane in the equation, at least that's what he assumed…

After all, he was a being that had already begun his ascension to transcendence, though he had only taken the first step still, that was enough to be a powerhouse in a backwater place like Elyon but from where he came from you could probably find a random teenager twice as strong as him...

Right now he was standing alone in his office, on his desk was a glowing orb radiating a chilly azure hue, this was precisely his seed, the one that gave him the time manipulation and terraforming powers.

Behind him a blue glowing two-pointed wheel covered with runic lights levitated, giving him a divine aura as it spun slowly.

His bright green eyes slowly began to dilate with a tint of blue as his hair followed suit, his arms spread apart and his mouth moved spouting out eerie chants…

If one could look closely at the azure glowing orb on the table one would see a clear picture of Seth and Valesco in a conversation in the training center, only it wasn't a picture it was broadcasting the current location of Seth and what he was doing at this particular moment…

***

Back at the training center…

A slight change began to take place in the atmosphere, the winds became chillier the brightly lit room, became a shade darker, and if one looked outside the open exit of the center, one would be met with the pitch black void of emptiness…

A strange feeling of wrongness began to encroach on the air as though the very universe was being altered…

Meanwhile, both Seth and Valesco barely noticed as they were lost in their own worlds, well that was until.

[Individual Valesco Griffith has accepted the title the 'The Camera Man's Apprentice (The Editor).]

[Congratulations host has accepted his very first apprentice.]

Seth was all smiles, he was just about to ask the system about the next steps to take when…

"..." Seth was stunned speechless, experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions, from shock to fear and now to anger, as a series of questions swirled in his head.

 Why was he targeted?

Why now of all times?

Who could breach the enforcer's headquarters just to attack him?

What do they stand to gain?

Meanwhile, while Seth was busy questioning life, Valesco was having the greatest shock of his life, his eyes glancing between his sword and the camera on Seth's neck.

His eyes finally settled on the camera, reverence filled his entire being. To think there was something in this world that could alter abilities…

Raising his gaze to Seth his eyes gleamed, so this was a big shot in hiding all along.

Unfortunately for the two of them, they had to put aside their train of thought, as a silhouette appeared in the distance.

One that Seth could recognize.

It was a young man with a tall stature with lanky long arms, he had the same eerie look as when he met Seth previously, his hair covering his face, except for a small parting at the left that revealed a soulless eye.

Screech!!!

Then, he began making a slow agonizing approach towards them, as if savoring the terror he inspired.

In his left hand, he dragged a scythe, its grotesque form crafted entirely from twisted, yellowed bone—joints still faintly visible, like remnants of a long-forgotten corpse.

Its sharpened edge scraped against the ground, shrieking like nails against stone, leaving behind a trail of blackened, decaying earth—a ghastly shadowy wake that pulsed unnaturally, as though writhing with unseen tormented souls.

Sensing the looming danger, both Seth and Valesco got into a stance.

With Valesco swerving his sword and positioning it by his hips as he got ready for battle, when he performed this motion something unbelievable happened but it went unnoticed.

If one had a microscopic vision one would have noticed that when the sword moved it cut through the air, directly dissecting all molecules in its path causing micro air vortexes in its wake. But due to this happening on an atomic level, it left Valesco none wiser.

As for Seth for the first time, we see his Qi in action, as his entire figure was coated with a blood-red burning flame, it gives the illusion of being hot though it isn't, as it twists and warps the air around it.

Seeing Seth's transformation the encroaching figure stopped in his tracks, as he tilted his head backward bursting into a fit of laughter.

"Kekekekekeh!"

"I see this hunt won't be boring after all, I guess it was stupid of me to think I could take this easy." his amused voice rang out.

Using his right hand to clear the hair out of his face, a grotesque face filled with inflamed scars came into sight, as a devious grin tugged the edges of his lips, a smile that was not a smile bloomed almost splitting his face into two.

As he added, "It would be very stupid to underestimate a Bane!"

The moment this statement was made his figure vanished…

Alarming the duo In the distance their eyes rapidly scanned the surroundings trying to know where he was coming from.

Puchi!!!

That was all Seth heard as his vision flipped and was disoriented, but he could still make something outstanding in the distance beside him, it was a headless corpse… 'Wait is that my body?'...
