The Golden Boy Chapter 11
"Next up"
After Leonardo DiCaprio, some had failed to impress Scorsese or David
Both were tired, it was already five in the afternoon
-..-
Through that door passed the person that David would never imagine would happen even in his dreams
It was Johnny Deep
He didn't expect him to pass through that door although his hopes of Mark Rufallo appearing were low
"Johnny Deep, who would have thought?"
Scorsese said while looking at him amused
"The pleasure is mine, Mr. Scorsese"
Johnny would say while showing respect in front of him
"Ok, let's start when you're ready, Johnny"
Upon hearing the young redhead's words, Johnny raised his thumb
"You know? There's something strange about this place... something I can't understand. Since I arrived, I can't stop thinking... everything seems... out of place. All the time, I have the feeling that I'm being watched, that... that nothing I see is real. It's like everything is... staged."
He himself would pause, his face reflecting confusion. Depp imitates the expression of someone who is thinking deeply, trying to connect the pieces of the puzzle.
"It's... like we're trapped in some kind of dream, or worse, a nightmare. I've seen it before. I've worked in places with more shadows than light. But this... everything here seems... injected with fear. And I feel like something else is at play... something I can't even begin to understand."
"You're hired Johnny, you never disappoint"
Scorsese would say while shaking his hand
Deep was already famous for his many roles such as Benny and Joon, Ed Wood, Don Juan DeMarco among others
"What's your name?
Lost in his thoughts David would look at Deep who was in front of him
"My name is David, it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Deep"
"Don't call me sir, you make me feel old David" Johnny laughed while looking at him
"Is he a director too Mr. Scorsese?"
-..-
"No, he's the brain behind this, the entire script was written by him"
"That's impressive David, it's a pleasure to work with you"
"I think the same Johnny"
Both would shake hands, unfortunately Mark Rufallo didn't show up but Deep was a great addition
