Chapter 3 : The Job Offer

Emma waited anxiously for what felt like an eternity to hear back from Mrs. Smith. She had tried to push the interview out of her mind, but she couldn't help but think about it constantly.

Finally, on the third day after the interview, Emma received a call from Mrs. Smith. "Emma, I'm pleased to inform you that you've been selected for the position," Mrs. Smith said.

Emma's heart skipped a beat as she listened to Mrs. Smith's words. She had done it! She had gotten the job!

"When do I start?" Emma asked, trying to contain her excitement.

"You'll start tomorrow," Mrs. Smith replied. "Please report to the mansion at 8 am. And Emma?"

"Yes?" Emma replied.

"Please be on time," Mrs. Smith said. "We value punctuality in this household."

Emma nodded, even though Mrs. Smith couldn't see her. "I will," she said. "Thank you again for the opportunity."

Emma hung up the phone and let out a whoop of excitement. She had done it! She had gotten the job!

She quickly called her mother to share the news. Her mother was overjoyed, and the two of them spent the rest of the evening celebrating.

The next morning, Emma woke up early, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. She got dressed in the uniform that Mrs. Smith had provided, and headed to the mansion.

As she walked up to the front door, Emma felt a sense of trepidation. What would her new job be like? Would she be able to handle the demands of working for a wealthy family?

The door was answered by Mrs. Jenkins, the housekeeper. "Good morning, Emma," Mrs. Jenkins said. "Welcome to your first day."

Emma smiled and followed Mrs. Jenkins into the mansion. She was ready to start her new job, and to see what the future held.

As she walked through the mansion, Emma couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. The mansion was even more beautiful than she had remembered, with its lavish furnishings and expensive artwork.

Mrs. Jenkins led Emma to the kitchen, where she met the rest of the staff. There was Maria, the cook, and John, the butler. They all welcomed Emma warmly, and showed her to her new quarters.

As Emma settled into her new routine, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She was finally starting her new life, and she was determined to make the most of it.

But little did Emma know, her new life was about to take a dramatic turn. One that would change everything forever.
