King Card — Wein Arcveil had obtained the rarest card within the Monarch class, a card that granted high authority in this game.
The Leader, the Killer, and the Target—these were the roles of the King, the most formidable and difficult card to conquer. Wein Arcveil then looked forward once again.
"Would you like to disguise yourself?"
An ancient-looking text floated before him, asking whether he would like to disguise his King card into one of the offered alternatives.
'Joker'
'Sheriff'
'Killer'
(Please choose as you wish.)
Note: Disguise will affect your competitors. However, your team and dormmates will still see you as the card you truly hold.
Damn it! He cursed silently before thinking—why could he disguise himself as a Joker rather than obtain a Joker directly?
Consciously, Wein chose Joker as his disguise, and the class division had now concluded. Wein Arcveil was the King of the Drakvaris Kingdom, and it would soon be announced.
"Alright, there will be three rooms for the three classes and one room for all of you to conduct meetings. Each class has a leader, and each dorm also has a temporary leader for this competition."
"I will now announce the name of each class leader."
Head Dormmaster Kimberly brought the microphone closer to her lips as she stood by the podium.
Wein braced himself before being called to the podium for the ceremony.
He took a deep breath, opened his eyes wide, and prepared himself, waiting to be called. Head Dormmaster Kimberly continued her speech.
"Leader of the Crew! As the Revolutionary: Sherlyn Aurhae!"
A round of applause erupted for Sherlyn even before she stepped onto the podium. She passed through the crowd and walked toward the stage, but before she arrived, the Dormmaster continued.
"Leader of the Neutrals! As the Jack: Glen Rhoureus!"
Whistles added to the excitement of the day. Then, the Dormmaster moved on to the Monarch class leader.
"And lastly, but certainly not least, Leader of the Monarchs, as the Sovereign: Loraine Eleanoir!"
The hall echoed with cheers. Everyone shouted and whistled for the beautiful student council president, who walked toward the podium waving like a celebrity.
"And finally, as the King of Kings and the leader of this game, as the King: Wein Arcveil!"
The cheers grew louder within the grand hall. Everyone shouted as Wein focused on the podium just a short distance away.
All eyes turned to Wein as he walked through the crowd with confidence—even those already on the podium turned to look at him.
"He's handsome!" — "Is he her brother?" — "He's amazing." — "Isn't he the richest noble?"
All eyes and whispers followed Wein Arcveil as he stepped up and waved to the crowd.
Wein Arcveil was taller than average, and his charming looks captured the attention of many girls. His strong confidence made him expressive and charismatic in public.
This was a perfect debut for Wein Arcveil, and he had successfully introduced himself without saying much to anyone individually.
"These are your leaders. Keep pushing forward and good luck in reaching the top rankings."
The hall once again erupted in rounds of applause. Wein Arcveil and the others gave short speeches on the podium while the crowd below celebrated with a small party.
Tomorrow, the first mission would be announced—and the hunt would begin.
"I am Wein Arcveil," he said while shaking hands with Loraine, smiling kindly. Loraine returned his smile gently.
"Loraine. Nice to meet you, Wein." A soft smile.
"So… you're all under my supervision now, right?" Wein asked, and the three of them looked at him. Loraine replied warmly.
"Yes, it's like a president and ministers. I hope we can work well together."
Wein was surprised by Loraine's response. She was kind, knowledgeable, and remarkable. For him, this would be the first victory for Drakvaris.
"Have you all mastered the rules of the game?" A calm and humble man appeared before the King, looking him straight in the eyes without intimidation.
"Of course!" they all answered.

Today—no, this morning—Wein Arcveil woke up after reviewing fragments of his memories and started his day in peace.
He began his day in the dorm room, and now it was time to play his role as the King in this exciting game. Wein had no specific targets yet and planned to gather all the leaders on the first day.
Wein, experienced in leadership from his past life, intended to strengthen the bonds between his allies. This would help them exchange opinions more freely.
After getting off his bed, Wein walked to his desk and picked up the pocket watch he had left there. While fiddling with it, he stared at the ticking hand.
The watch began to vibrate again—just like last night when Sherlyn contacted him. This time, he picked it up but only heard a distorted sound when he brought it close to his ear.
"Test!" A sharp sound rang out, followed by Glen Rhoureus's voice. It was still unclear whether this was a two-way communicator.
"Glen?" Wein confirmed.
"Wait… Arcveil?"
"No, just call me Wein."
"Alright then."
Another boring conversation between guys. Wein preferred being called by his first name rather than his noble surname that reminded people of his wealth.
"You guys are already chatting this early in the morning?" Loraine's gentle voice surprised Wein a little.
"Oh, morning Loraine!" Glen greeted through his own watch.
Wein joined in. "Good morning, Loraine!"
"Ohhh… good morning, everyone." Loraine seemed rather intrigued. Wein placed his pocket watch back on the table and put on his vest.
Today, they all had assignments to complete, which was why Sherlyn had woken up even earlier than them—something Wein should've done too.
"Sherlyn's been quite busy this morning, huh?" Loraine joked.
"Yeah, I think so… or maybe that's just how she is?"
"She's quite cold and not very sociable."
"I think 'sociable' is the wrong word for her," Wein corrected.
"Alright, now I need you all to head to the main meeting room. I'll call Sherlyn directly."
"Okay."
"Got it."

Grrrr! Grrrr! Grrrr!
The pocket watch vibrated again in his pocket. Wein quickly grabbed it and pulled it out, answering the call.
"What's wrong?"
"I'll be there shortly."
"Wait, Sherlyn?"
Loraine glanced at Wein, her face visibly worried. "What's going on? It's been thirty minutes already."
As planned, today was meant to build rapport among the four of them so that they could better exchange ideas. But Sherlyn's absence pushed them to wait longer.
In a cold room with luxurious chairs and large windows letting sunlight in to keep the room warm enough, the long table designed for many people was now used by only a few. Wein aimed to address a few matters during this meeting.
"Will this keep happening?"
The door, previously still and shut, finally moved—someone had forcefully pushed it open.
"Sorry," Sherlyn entered the room, breath uneven. She tried to catch her breath as she walked toward the long table.
"What happened?" Glen asked.
Still fixing her hair and uniform, Sherlyn sat down and began to explain.
"Some of the crew couldn't be reached. Someone attacked our crew." Her breathing was still unsteady, but everyone remained calm.
"It's only our first day, and we're already facing setbacks?"
Wein struck the table a few times. He tried to take over the discussion, his gaze sharp as he looked at Sherlyn.
"Can you explain what happened?" Wein asked, thoughts beginning to race after hearing this news.
To him, if the Monarchs were already wandering early in the morning and crew members were already vanishing, it meant something was off in their strategy.
How could they be more active in the morning than at night? Or… was this a tradition of this world?
Wein had initially planned to raid a few dorms at night—but hearing this now made him reconsider his entire plan.
