AT MOON STAR RESORT
"Isn't there any other information about them?" Oliver asked.
"They're all dead," Beatrice replied.
How will I find my sibling if their adoptive parents are also dead?
"Any relatives?"
"There are relatives, but they left a long time ago, and nobody knows where they are."
"And by the way, this is the guy with Anya." Beatrice handed Oliver a folder containing information about Keanu.
"He seems familiar to me," Oliver said when he saw Keanu's photo.
"He grew up in another country. I wonder how he and Anya became friends?" Oliver pondered Beatrice's question.
Keanu was already in another country at the age of 15. There's not much information here, except that he's the son of a Filipino woman married to an American. Oliver returned the folder to Beatrice.
"What about Herbert?" Beatrice asked.
"Just torture him until he begs to be killed." Oliver replied emotionlessly.
****************
Anya started preparing dinner early. She hoped Christian would come home early so her cooking wouldn't go to waste.
"Are you sure, Glaiza, that this is his favorite?" Anya asked while tasting the pinakbet she cooked.
"Yes, when Manang Linda was still alive, sir would always ask her to cook that."
Anya just found out that Manang Linda was the one who took care of Christian when he was younger. But Manang Linda had passed away three years ago.
"Is the taste okay? I'm getting nervous that he might not like it." Anya asked Glaiza to taste the dish she cooked.
"It's delicious! But Sir Christian is like that, since Manang Linda passed away, he hasn't asked for this dish to be cooked. When someone tried to cook it before, he didn't even eat it."
Anya became even more anxious after hearing Glaiza's words. What if Oliver doesn't eat what she cooked?
"I'll just cook some other dishes too, just in case he really doesn't like it. It would be a waste." Anya said with a forced smile.
"Anyway, I'll just go outside and keep watch for Sir Christian's arrival." Glaiza said.
Anya smiled at Glaiza. She was really grateful to have gotten to know Glaiza.
"Anya!" Anya was startled by Glaiza's sudden shout. Glaiza had just stepped out but quickly returned.
"He's here, Sir Christian is here!"
"What? It's too early, he's already here? How's that possible? I'm not even done yet! Think of something, Glaiza, don't let him in the kitchen! Okay!" Anya panicked because she hadn't even heard the sound of his car arriving. Did he walk here?
"Okay," Glaiza replied and quickly went outside to greet Oliver.
"You're early today, sir," Glaiza said with a forced smile.
"Yeah, is Anya here?"
"Uh, s-sir... s-she said she d-doesn't want to talk to you yet!" Glaiza looked worried about her excuse.
"She's still mad at me? Alright, I understand."
Oliver turned his back on Glaiza. Luckily, he didn't head straight to the kitchen, instead, he went outside and talked to one of the maids.
Glaiza left and returned to Anya to help her.
"Sir, here's the handkerchief," the maid said, handing him the clean handkerchief.
'Maybe giving her handkerchief will reduce her anger, right?' Oliver thought.
He went up to the second floor to visit Anya's room. But when he stood in front of her door, he hesitated to knock.
'Maybe later,' he thought.
He entered his own room and lay down on his bed. He closed his eyes, and all he could see was his younger sibling's smile.
"Gianna, where are you? I hope you're still alive." Oliver's voice was barely audible.
His hand touched the handkerchief he was holding earlier. He opened his eyes and looked at the handkerchief. A mix of emotions overwhelmed him as he saw the handkerchief's appearance. He sat up from his lying position to take a closer look at the handkerchief.
"This can't be..." Oliver muttered to himself, shocked.
He quickly got out of his room to knock on Anya's door, but before he could, Glaiza arrived.
"Sir, Anya is in the dining area. She prepared dinner for you," Glaiza said.
Oliver didn't bother to respond to Glaiza and immediately went downstairs to see Anya. When he arrived at the dining area, Anya was waiting for him. Anya greeted Christian with a smile, but Christian's aura was different. His gaze seemed darker, more intense.
"I prepared dinner for you. I'm also sorry for what I said to you the other day. I shouldn't have judged you like that." Christian didn't even bother to look at the food on the table. He only wanted to know one thing.
"Where did you get this?" Christian asked coldly, showing the handkerchief he was holding.
Anya tried to take the handkerchief, but Christian quickly pulled it away. He was taller than her, so she struggled to reach and take it.
"What are you doing? That's the handkerchief that's been missing, the one the maid took from Natasha's place."
"Just answer my damn question, Anya!" Christian's tone was getting angrier.
Anya wanted to get angry too, but she controlled herself. She wanted to make amends with Christian.
"Why do you need to ask? Is it that important?" Anya snatched the handkerchief from Christian when she had the chance. Christian didn't even try to take it back from Anya.
"Yes, it's important!" Christian replied to her question.
Anya took a deep breath before answering.
"Fine! When I was a kid, a boy gave this to me. He gave it to me on a night when I was crying, feeling like I was all alone. That's why I don't want to lose it, because I hope to find him again and return it. Throughout my life, whenever I have problems, this handkerchief is always with me. That's why it's extremely important to me. Do you have any more questions?"
