Duel with Laxus

Upon returning to the guild, Moss received a 100,000 J reward for her mission. She intended to give half to Laxus, but he refused.

Laxus didn't care about money—what mattered to him was Moss herself.

Seeing his refusal, Moss didn't insist and accepted the full payment. She set aside a portion for rent and food expenses.

From that day on, a new routine was added to Moss's daily life—taking on missions.

She wasn't doing it for money—she was doing it for magic power.

That's why she only accepted monster extermination missions.

Half a Month Later

Over the past fifteen days, Moss completed seven monster extermination missions, averaging one every two days.

The old, lazy guild members—who sometimes went an entire month without taking a single mission—started calling her a workaholic.

But Moss didn't care about their opinions. What mattered was gaining power.

With each mission, the monsters she faced grew stronger, and in turn, the magic power she absorbed increased.

By now, her total magic power had reached the level of twenty years of dedicated training!

Taking a Break

That morning, as usual, Moss entered the guild hall.

After having breakfast with Mirajane, Lisanna, Erza, Cana, and the other girls in the women's dormitory, she didn't head to the mission board.

Instead, she sat quietly at the bar counter.

"You planning to take a break today?" Makarov asked as he drank his liquor nearby.

By now, everyone had grown used to Moss's workaholic nature. Seeing her sitting still was strange.

Something was off.

Makarov thought for a moment before asking, "Are you feeling unwell?"

After all, women had certain days of the month when they weren't at their best.

And while Moss was an angel, she was still a female—so it wasn't impossible.

"No," Moss shook her head.

She was a Digimon.

Even though Angewomon's body closely resembled a human's, she wasn't one.

Her organs were fully functional, her senses complete—but she wasn't capable of reproduction.

Naturally, she didn't have menstrual cycles either.

With a soft sigh, Moss then smiled lightly. "I'm going to a faraway place to fulfill a promise."

[Dimensional Transfer Countdown: 1 Day]

Only one day left.

Since she would be leaving soon, there was no point in taking another mission.

Farewell

Makarov frowned.

He could hear the hidden farewell in her words.

"…Where?" he asked in a low voice.

"My place of origin," Moss replied.

Makarov's gaze fell upon Moss's pure white wings.

He had always suspected that Moss came from a world of angels.

When she first joined Fairy Tail, he had a premonition—one day, she would have to leave.

He just didn't expect that day to come so soon.

After a brief silence, he asked, "Will you come back?"

"Maybe," Moss said honestly. "Maybe not."

Even she wasn't sure.

Makarov sighed and said, "Do you know the Three Great Laws of Fairy Tail?"

"I do." Moss nodded.

Never reveal any information about Fairy Tail to outsiders. Never use past commissions for personal gain. Even if you walk a different path, live on with strength—never take your own life, and never forget your cherished comrades.

Makarov looked at her seriously and said, "Take care of yourself."

"…I will."

A Fateful Encounter

As Moss dealt with the emotions of farewell, elsewhere in the eastern forest, Natsu and Lisanna discovered a giant egg.

After some chaos, the egg finally hatched—revealing a blue-furred cat.

They named him Happy.

Seeing this, Moss chuckled softly.

"So it's this time already… how lucky I am."

Then, she turned and walked toward Laxus.

"Laxus, I challenge you."

A Shocking Challenge

"You?" Laxus blinked, confused.

The guild fell into silence.

"…Did I hear that right?"

"Moss is challenging Laxus?!"

"Wait, she's serious!"

To everyone's surprise, Moss—who was never known for seeking fights—had just challenged Laxus to a duel.

"Why?" Laxus asked, still puzzled.

Moss smiled. "I want to test the results of my training. If I can defeat you—someone at S-Class level—then I'll prove that I have the strength of an S-Class wizard."

Technically, Laxus hadn't officially been promoted to S-Class yet.

But hearing Moss acknowledge him as S-Class level stroked his ego.

Still, outwardly, he just scoffed.

"Hah! You think completing a few monster-hunting jobs makes you that strong? Fine, I accept! And don't expect me to hold back just because you're a woman."

"That's exactly what I want."

Battle Begins

The duel took place behind the guild, in a vast open space.

Moss and Laxus stood face to face.

Watching from the sidelines were Makarov, Mirajane, Erza, Natsu, Gray, Lisanna, Elfman, and others, all eagerly anticipating the battle.

"Begin!"

As Makarov's voice echoed, the roar of thunder followed.

BOOM!

Golden lightning burst from Laxus's body—his signature Lightning Magic.

Moss flapped her wings and soared into the sky.

Electric arcs crackled across the ground, kicking up clouds of dust.

"Lightning Spear!"

Expecting her to dodge, Laxus raised his right hand and unleashed a spear of concentrated lightning, launching it straight at Moss.

Moss twisted her body midair—the lightning spear missed her by just three centimeters.

At the same time, she reached up and removed the iron mask with a cross-shaped emblem from her forehead, revealing a pair of sapphire-blue eyes.

For the second time, she had removed her mask.

"Partial Take Over: Gatomon's Eyes!"

Her eyes sharpened, becoming cat-like.

With this transformation, she gained Gatomon's ability—Cat's Eye Hypnosis.

This was a mental attack, capable of manipulating the enemy into attacking themselves.

However, it wasn't a rule-breaking power—it was only effective based on the target's strength.

For Laxus, the effect was minimal—it only startled him for a split second.

But that split second was all Moss needed.

A Trap!

She closed the distance in an instant.

Three meters!

Two meters!

One meter!

Just then, Laxus smirked.

Beneath Moss, a golden magic circle lit up—it was a trap!

Even though Moss's Cat's Eye had been unexpected, Laxus had already set this up in advance.

"Lightning Magic Circle!"

Thunder exploded, engulfing Moss in a storm of lightning.

Laxus laughed.

"Hahaha! Moss, you're nowhere near beating me!"

But then—

A staff extended from the electric storm, glowing with dark light, and struck Laxus hard, sending him flying three meters back.

"…What?" Laxus tried to get up—but realized he couldn't move.

In front of him, Moss's form had changed.

Her mask now bore bat wings, her outfit had transformed into a red skeletal design, revealing far more skin, and a massive demonic wing spread from her back…

"Full-Body Take Over: Zombieman Satan Mode!"
