Unity of Light and Darkness, Mosstimon!

"Angel sister, are we not going back?"

A small voice came from the girl in her arms.

Moss looked down to see a pair of slightly reddened eyes—those of Hikari Yagami (Kari). Despite her fear, she forced a smile, her resilience heart-wrenching.

This whole incident happened so suddenly, Kari was still in her pajamas.

—I can't let this child worry.

With that thought, Moss gently patted Kari's back and said softly, "Don't worry. We'll get back."

Kari murmured an "okay" and buried her head in Moss's chest. She probably knew it was just comforting words but didn't want to make Moss more anxious, so she hid her gaze.

At the same time, the voice of Angewomon, Lucy, echoed in Moss's mind: "Is that really possible?"

Moss responded telepathically, "Let me think."

Angewomon knew—if Moss truly had a way back, she wouldn't need to think right now.

Which meant she didn't.

And yet, Angewomon thought of one option first.

—Mosstimon.

In truth, Moss had considered this long ago. Two months back, she had explained to Lucy that Mosstimon possessed the power to control time and space.

Back in the Lookout of the Dragon Ball world, she had been one step away from becoming Mosstimon—held back only by Lucy's hesitation.

As ancient wisdom says: "It is easier to defeat the thief on the mountain than the thief in your heart."

To avoid troubling Lucy, Moss had chosen to pursue a different evolution path through Wisemon.

Lucy had believed that by learning, she could acquire Wisemon's potential and grant Moss the power to manipulate time-space.

But plans can't keep up with changes.

Before achieving that evolution, they now faced a crisis that required time-space power to escape. And so, there was no other choice.

Angewomon said thoughtfully, "Moss, we must leave this place quickly. Even if we can endure, Kari can't."

Moss nodded.

Lucy's words made her realize the urgency. Kari's illness had only just begun to recover—her body couldn't last long in this dimension.

And so, only one method remained.

Mosstimon!

Right now, the only way to unlock Mosstimon's form was to combine both angel and devil—Angewomon must become LadyDevimon.

Moss asked, "Are you sure?"

Lucy replied, "If becoming LadyDevimon can save a life, then there's nothing to fear."

"If I don't descend to hell, who will?"

Lucy had once read this Buddhist phrase while studying to boost the evolution potential of Monkmon. Now, it deeply resonated with her.

If descending into hell could save others, then she would gladly go.

With that resolve, she overcame the deep hatred toward LadyDevimon coded into her Digicore and chose to accept.

Come!

[LadyDevimon: 100%]

Seeing the interface display full evolution rate, Moss now had all the pieces she needed. She immediately gathered her Digisoul.

"Come forth, LadyDevimon!"

A surge of light erupted from her body, forming a shadowy silhouette of LadyDevimon.

This way, Lucy wouldn't need to literally become LadyDevimon—her willingness alone was enough for Moss to pass the final trial.

From the shadows, Apocalymon watched with suspicion: "What trick is she playing? Why summon a LadyDevimon?"

He didn't interfere, merely observed with curiosity.

Moss cast her spell: "Dual Reception—Angewomon's Soul! LadyDevimon's Soul!"

She had once received Angewomon's soul in the Fairy Tail world, but it had no effect. This time was different—she was receiving both light and dark.

"Ah?" Kari looked up, alarmed at Moss's half-black, half-white appearance. "Angel sister, what's happening to you?"

"Don't worry, Kari—I'm okay."

Moss smiled—feeling better than ever!

Her right side emitted holy blue-white light; her left, deep black-red darkness. The powers of light and darkness achieved balance within her.

[Mosstimon: 100%]

After the Dragon Ball world, she had gathered every fragment needed to evolve—only LadyDevimon's essence had been missing. Now she had it.

"I lack nothing now!"

Moss summoned all her Digisoul to manifest Mosstimon's form.

The shadow began to emerge—but then—her Digisoul ran dry!

She reached 99%, and fell short by a hair.

She had used a lot of it recently—to help DimensionalBrainmon evolve temporarily, and later to train Gatomon and Wizardmon for 48 hours straight. Even after burning through reserve Digisoul, only two hours had passed since.

Not enough time to recover.

"Ugh, not now of all times..."

So close.

"Angel sister!" Kari, intuitive as always, noticed her struggle. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Moss, backed into a corner, took a gamble: "Kari, try to feel my Digisoul. Try to release the same power."

Though unfamiliar with Digisoul, Kari nodded and closed her eyes.

Minutes passed.

Apocalymon revealed himself again, mocking them: "Hmph. Futile. You'll never leave this place."

But just then—Kari's eyes snapped open.

White energy surged from her body—her own Digisoul had awakened!

It wasn't strong, about the level of a Champion Digimon, but it was just enough.

Now—she lacked nothing!

"Burn, Digisoul!"

Moss absorbed Kari's Digisoul. A moment later, a gray light burst forth from her.

From the light, a figure with twelve wings took form—six demonic, six angelic.

"What is this?!" Apocalymon stared wide-eyed.

He didn't recognize this Digimon.

"Full Reception—Mosstimon's Soul!"

A black-and-white armor wrapped around her body.

Her half-mask changed—one side an angel's wing, the other a demon's. The inverted cross on her chest was overlaid by a glowing yellow sword-shaped symbol.

Her golden hair tied high, fastened with a Holy Ring. Two strands framed her face—one in a braid, the other flowing free.

Her original eight wings became twelve—six white, six black.

She licked the new sharp fangs in her mouth—closer to vampire than cat.

Though obtained through magic, her form now resembled true Mosstimon with 98% accuracy.

"Kari, let's go home."

Cradling Kari, Moss spread her arms wide.

From the gaps in her left black armor, deep red light poured out; from the right white armor, sacred blue.

The powers of darkness and light fused before her, becoming a beam of violet.

"Chaos Descent!"

The purple beam tore open space itself.

A rift to another dimension—a way out!

"What?!" Apocalymon panicked.

Without hesitation, Moss and Kari flew into the dimensional gate.

"Wait!" Apocalymon tried to follow.

But his bulky form was too slow.

Still, he didn't give up.

Just a little more… he was so close to entering the Digital World!

He pushed harder, closer.

Moss looked back and smirked.

Her white-gloved hand held Kari; her black-gloved one waved at him.

"Ciao~"

With that, she snapped her fingers—and the gate closed.

"NOOO!"

Apocalymon screamed in rage.

To see opportunity vanish before your eyes was more tormenting than never having had it.

"Aaaaargh! Unforgivable! The Chosen Children are unforgivable!"

He ripped the flesh from his shoulders, regenerated, and repeated it ten more times before calming down.

But the fire in his eyes still burned—stronger than ever.

He now waited like a venomous serpent… for the next chance.

Although Mosstimon had the power to open dimensional gates, it was Moss's first time using it, and she had no idea which dimension it would lead to.

It was basically random.

But one thing was certain—it would be a Digimon-related world.

After all, no matter how powerful Mosstimon was, it was still a Digimon. It couldn't reach realms beyond.

Moss had pursued Mosstimon's powers not to control Traversing itself, but as a stepping stone to study it further.

"Where are we?"

Moss released the magic and returned to Angewomon form, holding Kari as they stood atop a mountain.

Looking around, from the wind, clouds, and elevation—it was clearly a high-altitude floating island.

One with forests and cities.
