Chapter 10

"Mr. Shaw came to the company this afternoon and caused trouble, stabbing the boss."

The assistant's words on the phone left me unable to think straight.

At that moment, I realized I couldn't lose Lorne.

From childhood, he had been like my guardian angel.

I was used to enjoying the feeling of being cared for and supported behind him, and my feelings for him had long since changed.

But I was afraid of losing everything if I burst that bubble, afraid our relationship wouldn't last.

After all, family bonds tend to outlast romantic love.

Lorne's injury made me realize I was no different from Alec.

Comfortably enjoying everything without being able to give him a commitment.

The regret and guilt in my heart made me burst into tears.

I ran into the hospital, praying that Lorne was okay.

As soon as I entered the ER, the chaos before me threw me off balance.

The assistant stood in the hallway, with a pool of blood at his feet.
