Alpha's POV
They think I don't see them, but the truth they don't know is that I do.
I hear every whisper that dares crawl through these walls. I feel the shift in their gazes, the twitch of disobedience behind their bows, the way they clench their fists when they kneel. Fear keeps them in line for now, but fear also breeds desperation.
And desperation… leads to rebellion and revenge.
The council calls me Alpha. The pack bows, eyes averted. They don't ask questions. Not about my past, not about my name, not about the blood I spilled the night I took the throne.
And that's good, because I want to let them wonder, let the unknown haunt them.
They obey me and that's all that matters for now.
