Sonny didn't know what to do. He felt free in this world, unshackled by the limits of his past life. But more than that, he could feel it—the immense, limitless power surging through his very being. He wanted to test it, to see what he was truly capable of.
His eyes wandered across the serene landscape until they landed on a sturdy-looking tree standing proudly nearby. Curious, he decided to test his strength.
He walked over, feeling his mere presence making the surrounding trees tremble slightly. That alone was enough to give him pause.
"Okay… that's new," he muttered, clenching and unclenching his fist.
He got into a proper punching stance, steadying himself. This was just a test, so he'd start light. But as an afterthought, he smirked and decided to use his full strength—just to see what would happen.
The moment his fist made contact with the bark, a deafening explosion rocked the landscape. A massive shockwave erupted from the impact, splitting the earth apart for miles. The entire forest trembled as though struck by an earthquake. Trees uprooted, boulders shattered, and birds fled in terror.
Sonny blinked at the aftermath.
"…Well. That was just a punch."
He stared at his hand, then back at the miles-long destruction his single punch had caused. A deadpan expression settled on his face as the sheer absurdity of his own strength sank in.
"Alright. Mental note: Don't punch things casually."
As he sighed, shaking his head at himself, his gaze shifted toward a large lake glistening in the sunlight. Water reflected the clear sky, and an idea popped into his head.
"Maybe magic will be different?"
He stretched out his hand and concentrated, aiming to summon a small fireball—nothing major, just a test. He expected a tiny flicker of flame to hover over his palm.
Instead, reality seemed to shudder.
A miniature sun formed in his palm, its immense heat instantly evaporating the surface of the lake. The air itself wavered, and waves of scorching energy spread out in all directions. The sheer force made the clouds above disperse, and the temperature skyrocketed.
Sonny's eyes widened in panic, and he immediately dispelled the spell, the miniature sun vanishing before it could do any further damage. He wiped sweat from his brow, despite his body being immune to heat.
"Okay… let's NOT destroy the planet by accident."
He exhaled, realizing that even a simple spell at his fingertips could unravel reality if he wasn't careful. He was beyond mortal. He was something else entirely.
"That settles it," he muttered to himself. "From now on, I'm holding back. Way back."
As he walked through the grassy fields, hands in his pockets, he mused about his current situation. The world was new, full of opportunities and mysteries, and he was absurdly overpowered. If he wanted to, he could probably conquer an entire kingdom with a flick of his wrist.
He chuckled to himself. "At this rate, I'll either end up as the next Demon Lord or some kind of god. That'd be hilarious."
The thought was amusing, but he quickly dismissed it. He wasn't interested in ruling or causing chaos. All he wanted was to explore, enjoy his new life, and maybe find something fun to do along the way.
As he walked deeper into the forest, the air suddenly grew heavy. He sensed a strong presence nearby. A few moments later, he found himself face to face with a massive wolf-like beast.
The creature was enormous—easily towering over him, its fur like steel, its eyes glowing with primal fury. Instinctively, he used Appraisal.
[King Dire Wolf – Legendary-Class Monster]
A monstrous ruler of the wilds. It possesses strength capable of annihilating entire adventurer parties. Known for its brutal combat prowess and high intelligence, this beast is an apex predator feared across the land.
Sonny read the description and let out a whistle. "Not bad. You're a big guy, huh?"
The King Dire Wolf snarled, baring its massive fangs before letting out a deafening roar. The sheer force of its cry sent shockwaves through the trees. Then, without hesitation, it lunged at him, claws extended, ready to tear him apart.
Sonny, however, didn't flinch.
He didn't even move. Instead, he casually lifted a single finger and flicked it toward the beast.
Expected Result: The wolf stumbles back slightly.
Actual Result: The wolf was blasted away with unimaginable force, its body crashing through several mountains before vanishing beyond the horizon.
The forest went silent.
Other monsters, previously hiding in the shadows, immediately dropped to the ground, bowing their heads in submission. Even the wind seemed to hesitate, as if nature itself was acknowledging his power.
Sonny stared at his finger, then at the spot where the King Dire Wolf used to be.
"…I was trying to hold back," he muttered. "But I guess I overdid it again."
He let out a long sigh before running a hand through his hair. It was becoming clear that no matter how careful he was, his very existence defied common sense.
Shaking his head with a wry grin, he continued walking through the now-submissive forest. One thing was certain:
This new world was going to be very interesting.
Sonny continued strolling through the forest, still trying to process everything that had happened. He couldn't believe the extent of his power, and his first fight with the legendary King Dire Wolf still played over in his mind. With just a flick of his finger, the massive beast had been sent flying through multiple mountains. He let out a sigh, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I barely did anything, and that thing was supposed to be a top-tier monster…" he muttered. "At this rate, I seriously need to train my abilities just to make sure I don't accidentally wipe out a city or something."
As he walked, he took in the beauty of the world around him. The lush greenery, the distant sound of birds, and the occasional rustling of leaves in the wind—it was peaceful. A stark contrast to the chaos his mere existence seemed to bring.
A few hours later, while exploring deeper into the forest, his steps came to a halt. Ahead of him stood an enormous silver wolf, its fur shining under the dappled sunlight. His first thought was that it was another King Dire Wolf, but something felt different.
Narrowing his eyes, he activated Appraisal.
The moment the status screen popped up, his breath hitched.
[Ancient Fenrir – Divine Beast]
A legendary wolf from ancient mythology. Feared across the land as a being of ultimate destruction. It is said that no mortal can tame or command this beast, and even gods hesitate to face it. Its strength rivals that of divine entities, and its mere presence causes nature itself to bow.
Sonny's eyes widened. "Fenrir… from ancient mythology?" He stared at the massive beast, then back at the glowing status window. "I knew this world had mythical creatures, but this is ridiculous."
Still, a smile slowly spread across his lips. "Well, at least I don't have to worry about being a weak human anymore." He clenched his fists. "I'm beyond even immortality now."
He looked at Fenrir, ready to see how strong this legendary creature truly was. His instincts screamed that this was a fight worth taking.
But then… something completely unexpected happened.
Instead of attacking, the massive wolf suddenly lowered its head and let out a soft whimper. Then, to Sonny's utter confusion, it rolled onto its back, exposing its belly in a complete display of submission.
A system notification popped up in front of him:
[NOTICE: The Divine Beast "Fenrir" has recognized you as its Alpha.]
[Fenrir has joined your party.]
[ERROR: Beast Taming skill acquired without activation.]
[WARNING: User's presence overrides natural hierarchy.]
Sonny stood frozen in place. "Huh?"
The massive divine beast, feared by gods, was now wagging its tail like an oversized puppy. He hesitantly reached out and petted its head, and to his further shock, Fenrir let out a pleased rumble, pressing against his touch.
"What the hell…?" Sonny muttered. "You're supposed to be a legendary divine beast feared across the world, and you're acting like a domesticated dog?"
Another system notification popped up:
[SKILL ACQUIRED: Tamer of the Divine Beasts: EX]
[ERROR: Skill exceeds standard limitations.]
[NOTICE: All creatures will now instinctively recognize you as their Alpha.]
[ATTEMPTING BALANCE ADJUSTMENT… FAILED.]
[WARNING: No restrictions apply to this skill.]
Sonny's face remained deadpan as he processed the absurdity of the situation.
"…Wow. I'm really OP."
He let out a long sigh, rubbing his temples. "So let me get this straight… Not only did I tame Fenrir, a divine beast, without even trying, but now every single monster in this world is just going to bow to me by default?"
Fenrir let out a contented huff, curling up beside him like an oversized pet. Sonny stared at the beast, then at the system messages, then back at Fenrir.
"Well… at least I won't have to worry about random monsters attacking me," he muttered. "But seriously, this is getting ridiculous."
Shaking his head in disbelief, he sat down next to his new companion, staring up at the sky.
This world was getting crazier by the second.
