Brainstorming ideas

The next morning, Wáng Lěi woke up with the thoughts of last night's laughter still lingering in his mind. He stretched and smiled at the sunlight filtering through his window, feeling refreshed, energized, and surprisingly optimistic. It was impressive how one night out could change his outlook.

As he shuffled to the kitchen to make some coffee, he realized how he hadn't felt this good in a long time. He brewed a cup, allowing the aroma to fill the small apartment, before settling down with his sketchbook. Inspired by the memories of karaoke, he decided to sketch a new character—someone vibrant and fun, like Mei Lin.

He worked diligently, the pencil gliding over the paper as ideas flowed. But with each stroke, his mind wandered back to the moments shared with Mei Lin and his friends. Laughter echoed in his ears, and he wished to capture that joy somehow within his work.

Just then, his phone buzzed, breaking him from his creative trance. It was a message from Mei Lin.

Mei Lin: "Hey! Ready to keep working on the comic?"

Wáng Lěi's heart skipped a beat. (The chapter checker or arion's bro: Why tho?)

Wáng Lěi: "Absolutely! Want to come over, or should we meet at the café?"

Mei Lin: "Let's meet at the café! I need caffeine to fuel my creativity!"

He responded with a quick "See you in a bit!" and quickly dressed, throwing on a hoodie and jeans.

When he arrived at the café, he spotted Mei Lin already seated at their usual table, her sketchbook open and sketches strewn before her. She looked lost in thought, her brow furrowed as she concentrated on her drawings.

"Hey!" Wáng Lěi greeted her, sliding into the seat across from her.

"Hi! I was just brainstorming some ideas about the festival scene. What do you think?" she said, pointing to a few sketches that captured an elaborate backdrop of fireworks and lanterns.

"Wow, these are brilliant! The details really bring them to life," he praised, feeling a rush of inspiration as he took in her vision.

"We should add more interaction between Lin Feng and his love interest. Maybe their feelings could develop as they watch the fireworks together," Mei Lin suggested.

"Great idea! What if something unexpected happens during the festival that tests their relationship?" Wáng Lěi said.

As they brainstormed, the café filled with the sounds of chatter and clinking dishes, but the world outside faded away. Together, they wove their ideas into a larger narrative, creating tension and surprise that would engage their readers.

During their discussion, Wáng Lěi found himself stealing glances at Mei Lin. Her passion was contagious, and her laughter lit up the room. There was something special about collaborating with her—an unspoken connection that made him reflect on what he truly wanted in his life.

After a couple of hours of intense brainstorming, they wrapped up their session.

"This is turning into something amazing!" Mei Lin said, her enthusiasm bubbling over. "But I think we should present our ideas to Chen Yu later, get his input. He might have some fun suggestions!"

"Sounds like a plan! But you know he always has wild ideas," Wáng Lěi chuckled, shaking his head.

"Oh, I know! That's what makes it fun!" Mei Lin grinned. "Just think—he might suggest a fight between a giant duck and Lin Feng!"

"Or a love triangle involving an inanimate object!" Wáng Lěi replied, laughing at the ridiculousness.

"Exactly!" she exclaimed, her laughter infectious.

After their meeting, they decided to stop at a small ice cream shop on their way back to their neighborhood—a rare treat after their productive day. As they sat outside on a bench, enjoying their ice cream, the sun began to dip lower in the sky.

"I'm really glad we're working on this together," Wáng Lěi admitted, glancing at Mei Lin. "It's nice to share ideas with someone who understands."

She looked back at him, her eyes bright with sincerity. "Me too, Wáng Lěi. I love collaborating with you! You have such a unique way of blending adventure and emotion in your stories. It inspires me."

His heart raced a bit at her words. "Thanks, Mei Lin. That means a lot coming from you. I've learned so much from you too."

They exchanged friendly smiles, a comfortable silence stretching between them. Just then, Wáng Lěi's phone buzzed again.

Chen Yu: "You guys ready? Let's meet! I have some wild ideas for your comic!"

"Looks like the chaos is about to ensue," Mei Lin said, laughing as they made their way to the designated meet-up spot.

When they arrived, Chen Yu was already waiting, bursting with energy as usual, animatedly gesturing to a nearby park. "Alright! First, let's brainstorm some crazy ideas! Who's ready to turn this comic into pure gold?"

As they huddled together, the excitement reminded Wáng Lěi of the past night's karaoke—an unpredictable wild ride that brought them closer together. With Mei Lin by his side and Chen Yu fueling the chaos.
