Prologue: The Eternal War

For as long as history remembers, there have been Shadows, twisted echoes of fallen souls, feeding on the essence of the living. They are not born, nor do they die as men do. They evolve, shifting and growing stronger by consuming human souls. At their peak, they transcend, gaining intelligence, purpose….. and the hunger to rule.

To oppose them, mankind formed The Order, an ancient brotherhood of exorcists who wield Soul Essence, an energy that flows through all living things. With it, they can strike down Shadows, binding their existence to oblivion. The strongest among them sit as the High Council, enforcers of balance, while the most feared warriors, those who have transcended mortal limits, stand as the Elite Guard.

But there is one who exists outside this eternal battle.

A child born not of fate, but of defiance.

A child of both Shadow and Man.
