Chapter 42 – The Wrath of the Gods and the Cruelty of the Demon Prince

The air crackled with divine power.

The very fabric of reality trembled as five gods descended into the ruins of the Demoness of Greed's palace. Their presence distorted the atmosphere, the weight of their divinity crushing the air itself.

Their armor gleamed with the radiance of the thunder god Thor, and their eyes burned with judgment. Each one carried a weapon crackling with divine lightning, forged in the heart of Asgard itself. They weren't just any gods—they were the disciples of Thor, warriors who had inherited his strength and carried his will.

The leader, a towering figure with sky-blue eyes and long golden hair, stepped forward. He raised his warhammer, and bolts of electricity surged through the sky.

"Kuragami," he spoke, his voice echoing with divine wrath. "I have been watching you. Analyzing Hell itself. Your presence is a stain upon existence. You must die here."

The other four gods flared their power, their auras clashing against Kuragami's like a storm crashing against an abyss. They radiated absolute power—but they felt something was wrong.

Kuragami stood calm.

Unbothered.

Unmoved.

Then, he smirked.

"How amusing," he murmured. "Five gods... and you really think you can kill me?"

He raised his hand.

Darkness gathered in his palm, but he did not attack. Instead, he whispered a command into the void itself.

A moment later, four figures appeared.

The 10th, 9th, 8th, and 7th strongest demons.

The very air turned black with corruption.

Their bodies seethed with dark energy, their eyes burning with an unholy hunger.

Saphira's eyes widened in shock. "Kuragami... you killed them! Then how—?!"

Kuragami turned his gaze toward her, his eyes gleaming with something far more terrifying than mere cruelty.

"They are not alive," he said. "When I slaughtered them, I did not waste their souls. I took them. I shaped them. I reforged them into my servants."

Saphira felt a shiver run down her spine.

The Demoness of Greed, who had once considered herself a queen of desire, felt something entirely new—an emotion she had never experienced before.

Fear.

This was beyond demonkind. Beyond gods. Beyond anything that had ever existed.

Kuragami was not just a demon.

He was something worse.

Something that could not be classified.

Something that did not belong in the natural order.

The gods, however, were unfazed.

"We are warriors of Asgard!" one of the gods roared. "We do not fear mere demons!"

Kuragami's lips curled.

"You're right," he said. "That's why I'll let you experience something worse."

He lowered his hand.

And the carnage began.

---

A Battle of Brutality Beyond Gods

The 10th strongest demon lunged forward first.

His claws glowed with abyssal energy, slicing through the air with unnatural speed. He didn't just attack—he ripped into the first god's stomach, his claws twisting inside and pulling out entrails in a single motion.

The god screamed.

His divine blood splattered across the ruins, but before he could react, the 9th strongest demon seized his arm—

And tore it off.

The other gods surged forward, their divine weapons clashing against the demonic onslaught. Thunder roared, lightning crashed, but Kuragami's demons were beyond pain.

Beyond death.

The 8th strongest demon sank his teeth into another god's neck, ripping out his throat before shoving his hand into the god's chest, crushing his heart in his palm. The 7th strongest demon grabbed the third god, his long black tendrils wrapping around the god's limbs.

Slowly.

Tightly.

Crushing.

The god's bones snapped one by one, each break followed by a scream of agony that echoed through the ruins.

And Kuragami?

He simply watched.

His golden eyes gleamed with cold amusement.

"Make it slower," he ordered. "Let them experience true suffering."

His demons obeyed.

They didn't kill immediately.

They took their time.

They sliced fingers off one by one, carving runes of pain into the gods' flesh. They ripped out tongues, ensuring the gods could only choke on their own screams. The fourth god was blinded, his eyes clawed out, but he was left alive just long enough to hear his comrades butchered beside him.

The leader of the gods, the disciple of Thor, stood frozen.

His comrades—his brothers—were being torn apart.

This wasn't war.

This wasn't battle.

This was butchery.

He turned to Kuragami, his hands shaking.

"You..." he whispered.

The prince of demons tilted his head.

"Something wrong?"

The god gritted his teeth. His hammer glowed with divine energy, and he charged.

Thunder roared—

But he never reached Kuragami.

A single hand gripped his face.

The 10th strongest demon, despite being the weakest of the four, grabbed him effortlessly.

The god struggled, but the demon squeezed—

And his skull cracked.

Blood gushed from his eyes, nose, and ears. His divine aura faded.

Kuragami walked forward, looking into the god's dying eyes.

"You thought gods were at the top," he said. "That demons were beneath you."

The god's breath hitched.

Kuragami leaned in, his voice barely a whisper.

"Tell me. What are you feeling now?"

The god tried to speak.

But he couldn't.

Because the 9th strongest demon reached forward—

And tore his jaw off.

The god fell.

His divine corpse lay in the ruins of the palace, his golden armor stained with filth.

Kuragami exhaled, turning away.

And behind him, the last whispers of the gods faded into silence.

The Demoness of Greed Stares in Horror

The Demoness of Greed felt her legs tremble.

Her master, Rimuru, the Demon King himself, had always been brutal.

But this...

This was something else.

Kuragami was not just evil.

He was something beyond classification.

And for the first time in thousands of years—

She realized that even gods were nothing but prey to him.

She lowered her head.

And whispered.

"Kuragami... you are not a demon. Not a god. Not a mortal."

She closed her eyes.

"You are something this world was never meant to have."

Kuragami simply smiled.

And walked forward.

Because this was only the beginning.
