Chapter 58 – The Throne of the Forgotten King

The demonic battlefield was silent, heavy with anticipation.

Kuragami stood unmoving, his golden-red eyes burning with cold fury as he faced the son of the Second Strongest Demoness.

The son sneered, arrogance dripping from his voice. "For all your power, you're still nothing but the child of a woman who ran away. Do you think you deserve to sit on the throne?"

Kuragami's aura flared.

The very fabric of reality twisted under his presence.

A cold wind howled through the land, and the sky darkened, swallowed by an endless abyss.

Then—his eyes changed.

Each eye burned with a color beyond mortal understanding—blue, red, gold, black, and purple.

The heavens shattered.

The ground cracked open.

And from the endless void beneath him—they came.

---

The Army of Shadows & The Forgotten Dragon

Thousands of warriors emerged from the abyss, their bodies formed from pure shadow and destruction. Their armor was blacker than the void itself, their weapons humming with forgotten power.

A roar split the sky apart.

A dragon unlike any seen before rose from the darkness—a creature of pure annihilation, whose wings stretched across the sky, devouring all light.

Kuragami descended onto his throne, a blackened throne of bones and lost kings, sitting like a god of the apocalypse.

And in that moment—

Every demon knelt.

Some out of fear.

Others, because his aura was so powerful, they simply couldn't stand.

The First Demoness, Lilith Nocturnis, trembled.

The Second Demoness could barely breathe.

The Third to Tenth Strongest Demons collapsed.

And Selene Nocturnis, the daughter of the First Demoness, who had once thought she was the strongest of her generation, now felt like an insect before him.

The son of the Second Demoness, however, remained standing.

Barely.

His body was shaking, but his pride refused to let him kneel.

Kuragami's voice echoed through the battlefield.

"Kneel."

The demon clenched his fists. "I will never kneel to you."

Kuragami sighed. "Then you will die."

---

The Battle Begins

Kuragami vanished.

A moment later—BOOM!

The son flew backward, crashing through mountains, his ribs shattered from a single blow.

But before he could recover—

Kuragami was already there.

He grabbed the demon's face and slammed him into the ground, creating a massive crater.

Blood splattered across the battlefield.

The son coughed, trying to rise—but a foot pressed against his chest, pinning him down.

Kuragami raised his Forgotten Sword.

Its edge gleamed under the dark sky, a blade forged to erase existence itself.

The son's eyes widened in horror.

Kuragami brought the sword down.

But just before it could connect—

A figure appeared between them.

A loud, deafening clash rang out.

And then—

The sound of armor breaking.

---

Demon King Rimuru's Intervention

Kuragami froze.

His blade had stopped inches from his father's chest.

Demon King Rimuru stood between them, his armor shattered, his body bloodied. Blood dripped from his mouth, staining the earth below.

Silence.

Every demon present was in shock.

The **Demon King—**the strongest being in their world—had been injured.

Kuragami stepped back, his grip tightening on his sword.

"Why did you stop me?" His voice was sharp, cold.

Rimuru wiped the blood from his lips. "Because if you kill him now, you will no longer be my son. You will be nothing but a monster."

Kuragami's expression didn't change.

But deep inside, something shifted.

For the first time in a long time—he hesitated.

The battlefield remained frozen in time, the weight of the moment crushing the air.

And for the first time, the demons realized something terrifying.

Kuragami—

Had already surpassed the Demon King.
