Chapter 27: A Woman Who Can Flirt, a Man Whose Soul Will Drift

Vivian couldn't help but blush slightly when she thought about how she had actually been taken care of during her period. Although, in the most literal sense of the word.

Her cheeks tinged with color as she smiled, feeling much lighter after sharing a laugh with her best friend.

"I think you've been too inexperienced in love," Emily teased. "How about this weekend? I have some free time, and I'll take you somewhere fun."

It had been a while since they had hung out together, and they quickly agreed to go out on Saturday.

The weekend arrived faster than expected.

Lumina, located to the south, never sees snow, and the cold days barely stretch beyond ten days each winter. A warm coat is enough to show respect for the season.

The weather was sunny and mild, with yellow leaves fluttering from trees on either side of the streets, and soft sunlight casting a warm glow over everything.

When Emily pulled up in her Porsche Cayenne, Vivian was already waiting downstairs.

From a distance, she saw Emily in casual attire, wearing a hoodie with a pair of straight-leg pants.

Her tall, slender figure made her long legs appear even more toned and straight. Her waist-length hair was tied up in a bun, with a few soft strands framing her face, fluttering in the breeze. She looked effortlessly fresh and charming, with an aura that was both innocent and alluring.

"Vivi, get in," Emily called out.

True friends didn't engage in useless pleasantries.

Admiring Vivian's delicate features, Emily couldn't help but marvel, "Vivi, with that glow, I'd think you switched styles. People who didn't know would think you just graduated from high school!"

They always said true beauty comes from the bone, not just the skin, and Vivian was the epitome of this. Even her flawless skin made her stand out, to the point where she could easily make it as a star in the entertainment industry.

"Stop it. You're dressed so nicely today. What's the occasion?"

Whereas most people's compliments were meant to flatter, Emily's were always playful.

Unlike Vivian's simple style, Emily today was dressed formally—her waist-length dress paired with a long coat, her hair neatly styled, exuding a professional yet warm aura. She looked more and more like a female CEO in charge.

As soon as she mentioned this, Emily sighed.

Waiting for the light to change, she began her complaints. "There's a lot going on. The hotel industry is in a slump, especially with five-star chains like ours. They don't care about peak or off-peak seasons, and the headquarters gave us a sales target we couldn't meet. I need to figure out how to fix it."

In simple terms, she was struggling to pull in customers.

Although Emily came from a wealthy family, and Rosewood Hotel would eventually be hers, she didn't have an ounce of the spoiled heiress mentality.

She threw herself into business negotiations with zeal, working harder than anyone else.

Since Rosewood Hotel specialized in high-end business banquets, they catered to the elite, where influential and wealthy people gathered.

Even though word of mouth was good, the customer base still needed to be stable.

One big deal every three years wouldn't cut it.

The light turned green, and Emily continued driving. "As your best friend, I haven't forgotten you. If I come across any good opportunities, I'll help promote your wine."

Vivian ran a high-end wine business herself.

Business banquets always needed wine, so it worked out nicely.

It was a win-win situation.

Vivian didn't feel the need to be overly polite, tilting her head towards Emily's right shoulder. "Thanks in advance, Miss White."

After nearly an hour of driving, the car stopped at the foot of a mountain.

Although called a mountain, it had been cut in half and developed into a resort.

Lumina was located by the sea, surrounded by mountains, making it a beautiful coastal city.

The city was built on the mountainside and by the sea, so there were both hillside villas and luxurious seaside homes. The mountain here had a poetic name: Luoxia Mountain (Sunset Mountain).

It was said that there was a temple on top of the mountain that was very effective for those seeking love.

But there was a catch—it only worked for true love.

If a person went to pray for a soulmate and it wasn't a true match, they would end up separated.

Because of this, the mountain had become quite popular in recent years, and during holidays and weekends, reservations were required, or else they wouldn't even be allowed at the foot of the mountain.

When the car first began heading in that direction, Vivian thought Emily wanted to pray at the temple.

But as Emily turned the steering wheel, she veered off onto another path.

"There's a new camping site here. The foot of the mountain also has a golf course. The owner is quite clever, targeting both high-end and mid-range clientele for this project."

Golf was an expensive sport, appealing to the wealthy.

The camping site was a trendy, low-cost retreat for the middle class and the artistic youth.

It was also a popular getaway for office workers, who, tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, sought to relax in the peaceful countryside on weekends.

Vivian thought the site would be small, but as they drove deeper into the area, the road winding for nearly five minutes, she realized it was huge.

The white tents stretched for as far as the eye could see, with beautiful mountains and clear waters all around—an impressive sight.

"It's big, right? The first time I came here, I thought the same. But inside, it's much bigger than I expected," Emily said, gesturing to the large tents in front, resembling Mongolian yurts. "Those are where you can stay overnight."

Nearby, there were several telescopes set up.

"Although we can't see the stars in the desert, when the weather is clear, the stars are still visible here."

The owner of the campsite had a romantic side, despite the difference in location.

Even though it wasn't even 10 o'clock yet, there were already a few people in the camp. By the time the weekend or holidays came, the place would be packed.

As Vivian gazed around with wide eyes, Emily was even more excited. "Vivi, up ahead is the entrance connected to the golf course. We'll head there next."

The area inside was much quieter than the lively outside, with more space between the tents, giving each group better privacy.

There was a spacious concrete platform, with grassy areas interspersed, and even a bar, a kids' playground, swings, and tennis courts—everything you could need.

After parking the car, Emily led her to a two-story building.

Inside, it was elegantly decorated, with a soft and pleasant scent of light fragrance filling the air. It was both refreshing and subtle.

Even the water on the counter was VOSS, indistinguishable from a five-star hotel.

They had barely settled when a tall, handsome young man jogged over to them.

Without waiting for Vivian to speak, Emily casually introduced, "This is Vivian, my best friend. She's like a sister to me."

The young man greeted her with a broad smile, showing off his white teeth. "Miss Pruitt, it's a pleasure to meet you."

It was obvious to anyone with eyes that they had a close relationship.

"This is David, my new boyfriend," Emily said, emphasizing the word "new."
