Chapter 29: Loyalty Weighs a Ton, but Not as Much as Four Ounces of Chest

The way she fell earlier, it was on purpose.

Daniel was the closest to her. She was beautiful, with an alluring figure, and she had her fair share of suitors.

But compared to the man in front of her, it was like the difference between heaven and earth.

When she fell to the ground, she even made sure to thrust her chest out in a subtle display.

She had put thought into her outfit today—knee-length skirt paired with a white blouse, the fabric squeezed between her cleavage, accentuating a deep neckline. The little jacket cinched at the waist, hiding what should be hidden and revealing just enough.

Men are visual creatures.

Loyalty weighs a ton, but not as much as four ounces of chest.

She didn't believe he could resist her!

The way she fell, the angle—everything was calculated to draw Daniel's attention.

As long as he maintained the gentlemanly conduct and helped her up, the rest of the events would follow naturally.

She could already picture how it would look when the media caught her with Daniel, her face showing pain while her eyes secretly held a smile.

But, unfortunately, her plan failed. Despite everything she calculated, she hadn't anticipated that Daniel wouldn't even acknowledge her.

His long, elegant fingers slowly lifted his teacup, and without even sparing her a glance, he turned his body to face the other direction with a lazy posture. "Seems like there are quite a few people here."

He completely ignored the woman who had collapsed, acting as though she wasn't even there.

Anyone sitting here to discuss business with Daniel was hardly someone insignificant.

Inviting this woman here was an attempt to gauge Daniel's tastes. If she caught his eye, there would surely be more women like her sent to his side.

But if Daniel wasn't interested, they'd need to approach from another angle.

The way to get closer was to give gifts. What and how to send them was the only real concern.

After all, once they managed to get on his good side, they could ride the wave of success.

The people around Daniel had sharp eyes and didn't want to offend him. One of them nudged the woman's shoulder and gave her a look, signaling her to get up on her own.

The first UX.Inc. press conference had just concluded, and the feedback was outstanding.

An overseas company entering the domestic market, with the founder hailing from Lumina.

Most importantly, UX.Inc. had been operating abroad for years, but based on Daniel's words during the press conference, it seemed they were considering moving their headquarters back to Lumina.

Such an important piece of good news wasn't only being closely watched by Lumina but also by the major economic development districts across the country.

Once UX.Inc. settled here, it would soar to the sky with ease.

Forget the GDP connections—just the relocation of their headquarters would lead to billions in investments, which was just the tip of the iceberg.

Moreover, this would directly impact the employment rate, which was a major focus for Lumina's government.

It was a matter of economic growth translating into political achievements.

So, senior officials from the economic department were present today to discuss things with Daniel.

No one knew exactly who had invited the woman causing such a scene in front of Daniel, making a fool of herself.

They were well aware that, given their current status, they couldn't just walk up and talk business with Daniel directly.

With Daniel personally present, they were elated, treating him like a guest of honor, showering him with kind words, afraid to say something wrong.

Usually, people would make appointments to meet him, but today, it was all up to Daniel's time and mood.

Daniel didn't respond.

They were meeting here for business, and the location was chosen because of its clear, private atmosphere.

The tent was well-arranged with all the necessary items, and the surroundings were spacious. Several tents nearby had been cleared to ensure privacy, so no one had to worry about eavesdropping.

There was a light breeze, and the loosely tied tent flaps fluttered, sometimes flapping up and then falling back down, creating small gaps that allowed a glimpse of groups of people outside, mingling and having fun.

Both sides of the meeting were a matter of mutual testing. Daniel wasn't particularly interested, occasionally listening and then offering his opinion.

Bored, his gaze casually swept the area, and his eyes froze when he saw a familiar figure.

He straightened up slightly, his dark eyes locking onto a spot in the distance.

She was different today.

Talking and laughing with the other men, her expression lively and playful, wherever she stood, she became the center of attention.

It seemed someone had said something that made her laugh. She bounced and joked, her youthfulness and energy radiating with the sun, making everything around her seem more vibrant.

Nearby, bubbles floated in the wind, spinning around her like butterflies that couldn't tear themselves away from the flowers. She reached out and caught one, gently tapping it with her fingers.

The rainbow-colored bubbles drew everyone's eyes.

Looking at her, Daniel couldn't help but hum softly, "Alright."

These two simple words were enough to lift the spirits of the anxious people around them. Everyone smiled widely. "Mr. Smith, the private dishes here are excellent. They've brought in a famous chef from the culinary capital. And the fireworks and bonfire party tonight—it's all very special."

After the beginning of winter, the nights came early.

Before seven, the moon was already at its peak, and the camping lights had all been switched on, illuminating the grass and tent areas with a soft, shimmering glow.

Vivian's campsite was not far from the small building, offering a great view and a spacious location.

"We'll be having fireworks later, and the view from here is better," Emily whispered to her. "I did well with the business talk today, so we can drink tonight. You should have some too."

Emily's little boyfriend was clinging to her side, the two of them gazing at each other like sparks were about to fly. It was clear what was coming next.
