After looking at his personal attributes one more time, Ursa tapped the backward button on the top left to move back to the home interface. He decided to be patient and not touch the reputation point to upgrade his attributes yet, but to read the evaluation first. After all, even though he had a lot of ideas of what he lacked during the mission, it would be good to confirm it with the system first.
As he entered the new interface, there was only one point appeared on the list. That was understandable since he had only done one mission. There, Ursa could see the title 'Exposing Golak Mayar's evil doing' shown and snorted a little.
'It seems the system has a funny way to make a title.'
Shaking his head, Ursa clicked the title, and the interface changed immediately after that. There were so many words that appeared on the screen that Ursa himself felt a bit overwhelmed. It took a long time for him to proceed, however, his body froze instantly when he saw the red mark at the bottom of the system.
55 / 100. Acceptable.
'System, is that my rating? Why the hell is it so low?' Ursa complained. In his mind, besides being discovered by Vahd Diran, he had done a good job in this mission, and he also achieved the objective in the end. At least, he deserved more than 65 for that.
However, the system poured cold water into his head immediately.
[Host, the only reason you can get 55 is because of the successful mission. Less than that would mean the Host failed to achieve the objective.]
'Wait, you mean to tell me 55 is the lowest acceptable point?!' Ursa asked incredulously.
[Yes, Host.]
'Then, why would my rating be so low?!'
[Because Host's performance is far from being acceptable, and if Host is unlucky enough, Host would be discovered immediately the first time Host followed the two kidnappers.] the system said bluntly, making Ursa flinch unconsciously. [If the host wants to know the details better, please read the report that the system provides there.]
Having no choice, Ursa started reading the content of the long reports in front of him slowly. At first, he smiled proudly at his operation when saving Aliyya Sunni from the kidnappers. However, when he saw the (– 10 points) detail added next to it, he stared blankly in disbelief.
'System, what the hell is this?! What did I do at that time to make you deduce the evaluation by 10 points?! He cried indignantly.
[Because the host asked for the system's help and advice at that time, and that 10 points evaluation is the price the system deemed necessary for that.]
Ursa just sighed heavily at that, realizing full well that this was his mistake. There was no way the system would lend him a hand without any price, and for him to not think about that until now was naïve.
He decided to move on after that and read the report thoroughly. The more content he read, though, the more the grimace on his face showed. He always thought that he did a good job in the mission and made only one mistake after being discovered by Vahd Diran. However, the system definitely didn't think so, what with so many red lines on his report.
'Only using a mask to disguise myself in an operation. – 5 points.'
'Getting caught by the surveillance camera 6 times during the operation. – 5 points.'
'Revealing the place where I live to civilians. – 5 points.'
'Using the stupidest method to spy on Golak Mayar – 10 points.'
'Not realizing that I had been discovered and getting lured out by Vahd Diran. – 10 points.'
'Total: – 45 points.'
After reading all of the mistakes he did during the last operation, Ursa finally realized how lucky he was that he only encountered one major problem. If only the system decided not to help him concealing his identity, Ursa was sure a lot of people would be able to find out about him.
It seemed he just dodged a bullet here.
'Okay, System, you win. My performance is bad, so what can I do about it?' Ursa asked.
[Don't worry, Host. The system has already prepared a few rewards depending on the host's performance. Please, check your inventory.]
This was the second time the system had been hinting him about checking his inventory. So, driven by curiosity, Ursa operated the interface in front of him and found the inventory section, and when he entered that, he could see three items were there. One of them was the grey windbreaker he used during the last operation, and the other two were something new here.
'Two books?' Ursa muttered. When he clicked one of them, he was surprised when the book suddenly emerged out of nowhere. Sometimes, he forgot that the system was something beyond his understanding, so something like this still managed to make him jump once in a while. 'What kind of book is it? The principle of tracking and anti-tracking?' He frowned, feeling that the system just mocked him.
[No, Host, the system is not just mocking you. The system is here to improve the host's ability, so after a lot of consideration, the system decides to help the host learn more about espionage operations, not just rely on your full-level stealth.]
Ursa nodded, feeling the explanation was acceptable. He had already experienced how the full-level stealth attribute was not omnipotent, and if he was careless, those stats would be useless instantly. So, reading this book wouldn't hurt him at all.
The more he read the content of the book, though, the more Ursa felt astonished by it. There, he learned the correct way to spy on a person, such as not to follow the target directly and survey the route that the target could possibly pass beforehand, learn the usual position of the surveillance cameras, how to recognize he was tracked or he was discovered when tracking, how to confirm, and how to handle it.
From that book, Ursa knew that the purpose Vahd Diran walked in circles was to confirm that he was being followed, but Vahd Diran's mistake was to strike too quickly before he could even recognize the spy's whereabouts.
There were still so many tips and tricks for the espionage operation in the book and even with the example, making it easier for Ursa to learn. As he was engrossed in the book, he suddenly heard the bell ringing from the door, signaling someone just entered the building.
Ursa frowned for a second as he remembered that he had already hung the 'Closed' sign outside. Curious of who the person who just entered was, Ursa took a peek, just to find himself getting hit by a little adorable girl richrocketing into his body.
"BROTHER VEGA! I AM HERE AGAIN!"
