Chapter 9

The next day, I got up early.

I bought breakfast in advance and went to Fintan's house.

On the way to Mount Rocky, he briefed me about the four people we would be guiding up the mountain this time.

Two men and two women - if they could persevere, we'd be climbing all day today.

My mindset was different from last time. Before, I could rely on the guide. Now I had become the guide.

When I met the four of them, the girls looked very weak. I had a feeling they wouldn't make it to the summit.

I made a bet with Fintan that this trip would probably be over in half a day.

As we started climbing, strong winds began to blow just like last time.

One of the girls, seeing the weather, got cold feet and said she wanted to give up.

We continued upward with the remaining three, but to my surprise, after persevering for a while, the two boys also said they couldn't go on.

Fintan and I exchanged glances, then asked the last girl if she wanted to continue.
