A DISASTROUS EVENT THAT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER
I wandered around my thoughts that had been circumventing akin to dirty air pollutants coming out of an old, rusty, and not well-used vent as of late.
However, it eventually stopped when I received a call, as I decided to pick it up.
"Is this Daniel Lowe from Matter University?"
"Yes, it is. How can I help you?"
"This is from Matter University Administrative Board. We have been informed that you will be momentarily suspended from any activity related to your status as a student. And as a result. you will be moved to Nihil University immediately after any further acquirement."
Excuse me, what the fuck? Imagine saying this while I never did shit.
"May I know how this happens? Mind explaining?"
I tried my best to sound as controlled as possible, despite my body in-heat as of now.
"Unfortunately, we prefer not to disclose any information on that regard."
Shit! I swear to God, this must be from them.
"Really?"
"I highly recommend you to accept this transfer. This is for the best."
"Okay, who did this?"
"The government decided to intervene on this matter, meaning you will be moved there immediately. They will also keep an eye on you, making sure you don't do any suspicious move."
"But what did I do? I keep my track records clean. I don't even make any problem let alone having any issue with lecturers there."
"As we said before, it is not our rights to disclose that information considering it is a top secret by the government. Maybe you are the one who knows something about this."
"But I-" The phone call was closed.
Holy fuck... I knew this would happen. They did it again. Not the first time it happened.
I guess I have been found out then. Well, fuck this shit I guess. I am not even sure what to do with this. Nihil University? What is this again? Is this some kind of nothing burger?
I had no idea.
My mind was completely paralyzed, losing its reality and eventually fading to oblivion, or maybe that's just the way I feel it, as in the sensation of numbing that was engulfing as of now.
Right... how did it start? Why did this even happen to me.
Honestly, back then, I wouldn't have realized that, from now on, my life had changed.

[2065, New Techno City, United Nation of Science]
When the synthesized antimatter energy was discovered by Nihil scientists 15 years ago, it had become a strong reason for a lot of countries to begin the Nuclear War. Not only because they were greedy, but also they ran out of energy, a demand for better alternative but also to strengthen their army as well was a resolution offered according to such a promising alternative.
The war was won by no one, most of them had been deceased by their own will-to-power after slaying each other before reaching the headquarter of Nihil company research, not to mention the nuke was eradicated altogether with those bio weapons they used. And yes, it was the last of it.
Speaking of which, by the end of the war, all of scientists were alive, so as most of civilians who hadn't participated in the war, thus eventually developed one single country that will be focused on science in every single aspect, from technology to transportation. So, today, you wouldn't see any conventional transportation because those cars were recycled into another beneficial tool such as a chip detector, for example. This was done easily thanks to possibly the most mysterious thing on earth, the anti-matter.
The annihilation theory stated that when there are two different particles hit each other, it will be transformed into a new energy. In this case, it is matter and anti-matter. This research had turned out to be not only a huge leap forward for humanity as a whole, but also an opportunity to challenge the limitations humans currently have with the previous resource, as they found out this energy would restructure the shape of things in multitude of ways. However, this energy is invisible to naked eyes, which means that you could only use it, but not see it. And to do so, there is a specialized goggle vision that can tell how much level of energy possessed by something or someone.
This energy then eventually had been known as the non-matter.
And since the beginning, the first discovery had been made, there were countless people who had been interested in this type of research, and many more who are eager to find out about its potential. But not all people could just easily have the ability to do the research. One of the most important parts of this research was to get the approval from the higher-ups of the government. Only then, will the researcher be granted the permission to continue their work, and to have access to the necessary equipment and materials.
It was a long and complicated process.
As time went by, more and more researchers were recruited, and the research had finally reached the peak. People had gotten used to this phenomenon and eventually, there was a change. The research was then divided into four categories, which are the weapon, the machine, the technology, and the medicine. Each of the category was further split up into the sub-categories. For the weapon, the sub-categories are ranged, the blade, and the gun.
However, these causes were not my point to tell this story.
But rather, the effect instead.
I had been moved from Matter University to Nihil University for no apparent reason. I tried to initiate a contact with one of officials but, apparently, the only way to explain their decision was that they thought I was too good of a student that they didn't want me to waste their talent on their fucked-up university with a dormitory that is as good as an abandoned building.
Either way, my first day here was a nightmare.

I sat on a hard seat while people around me were chatting like I didn't exist.
"Have you heard the news? There is a rumor that the head scientist has died," said one man.
"Are you serious? That's why they have a replacement for her, right?"
"Well, that's what they said. You know that, if they really had a replacement, they wouldn't need a student to help them. I guess, this is not a replacement, but a real person to take over."
"I still can't believe the head scientist died. She is like our only hope of getting a cure."
"What are you talking about? The cure had already been done, the government only hoarded it to themselves."
"Oh, really? Then, why didn't we hear anything about that?"
"Because the government has something to hide. It's not like the cure was 100% effective, right? Maybe they only gave it to their family and friends."
"Then, it's even worse."
"Yeah. We don't know when the second wave will come. It could be today, tomorrow, or a month from now. Who knows? I just hope the head scientist isn't dead."
"But what can we do?"
"We can only pray."
That was the last time I heard them before their conversation drifted into a more mundane topic. And bold of them to know what was going on inside the science department.
I would rather forget it and move on.

And second, I got lost.
Eventually, it turned out that the university was much bigger than the one I was enrolled to.
"Excuse me, sir."
A man looked at me in the face.
"Yes, boy?"
"Could you tell me where the headmaster's office is?"
"Why do you need to go there, boy?"
"They told me to meet up with the headmaster."
"They?"
"The government."
"Ah, I see."
"So, could you tell me where the headmaster's office is, sir?"
"Of course. It's 200 meters to the left from here."
"Thanks."
I was about to walk away when he grabbed my shoulder and turned me back around.
"However..."
"Yes?"
"Do you think you can get there, boy?"
"Yes. Of course."
"Good." He let me go.
"Sir."
"Yes, boy."
"How about the door?"
"The door?"
"The entrance door. Which one should I enter?"
"You mean the backdoor or front door, boy?"
"I think backdoor."
"You think?"
"Yeah, backdoor."
"Okay."
He pointed at the front door. "It's 200 meters in front of you."
"Thanks, sir."
"Don't forget the pass."
"Pass?"
"Your pass. Do you have a pass, boy?"
"Yes. Of course."
"Where is it?"
"Here."
I pulled out a card that was given to me by the officials.
"Let me see it, boy."
"But—"
"Come on."
He snatched the card and took a closer look.
"Daniel Lowe..."
And here comes the nightmare...
I now had a need to thank God for doing this.
If He ever existed, of course.
"Specimen, aren't you?"
I would rather not talk any further thus had nodded to such an unpleasant rhetorical question that you knew what the answer was: Yes and no.
"Sorry for intruding your privacy, boy.
My condolence for her death, but you shouldn't have been there at all."
I'm aware. No need to make me apply a cold water to burned area.
It was my fault as to what had happened to her, no matter how accidental.
Either way, I still remembered what happened back then. A few months ago to be precise.
***
It was a cold night during the winter.
A night I would rather forget, but have to remember instead.
We had been warming each other in a blanket with no strings attached.
"Lea, I love you."
"I love you too, Daniel."
I could feel her warmth as we embraced each other. It was as if time had stopped for us.
"So, what will be your plan after graduating from university? Or do you want to straight marrying me instead, hm?" A smirk was formed in her face, as if she never had any remorse after.
Lea Taylor, dubbed as the greatest scientist of this century, had adopted me as her son from the institution 2 years ago. However, despite of such a relationship, I couldn't help but see her as nothing sort of a stepmother, but a caretaker. Or else, more of an older stepsister.
To me, she was both mother and lover who adore me the most.
She was 25 years old when she adopted me.
I was 18.
She is a beautiful girl.
Her beauty was so outstanding that she was often compared to Venus, the goddess of love.
Well, not that people had done so.
I did.
They usually thought she was a pure beauty, but I would compare both because it was far in my point of view.
She has brown hair that seemed to have a hue of black on it, and her eyes were deep brown.
She has a perfect face with a symmetrical jawline, with her pointed nose added more to her facial features.
She also has a well-endowed chest. 34B cup size is perfectly average for someone as beautiful as her.
Her lips are so luscious, that whenever I kiss her, I could feel nothing else except the taste of her silky red surface.
Her legs are perfect as well, not too thin nor thick, with her thighs appeal as if those were begging to be ravaged.
Her butt is also a masterpiece, a bubble butt with the right amount of fats and muscles.
In conclusion, she was the epitome of a beautiful woman, a true Goddess in a form of a brilliant scientist.
She then had taken my virginity a year later after been adopting me.
I was young and felt the hunger of understanding biological reproduction systems.
She taught me quite gently as she began to instruct me some advanced things to do for her right from the warming-up session. And as she spread her legs, I couldn't help but let myself be guided by her instructions to fill her woman's cavity.
It had been anything but tedious as I ended up enjoying this supposedly stepmother's tight wall by myself.
For me, it was one of biological experiments to remember with me as an object to her sensual desires.
And after such an event, it felt as if it had been so natural for us to do this casually everyday.
"That is a tempting offer, Lea. But..."
I looked into her eyes and held her hands. I couldn't think of anything else except to tell the truth.
"What kind of question is that?" I could only let out a light laugh.
"But seriously, I want to be like you. Someone who makes an impact to the world."
She gave me a light smile. "Sure, I believe you can do that, or better. Who knows."
She then continued. "So, what about your answer to my question?"
"Don't tell me you just want my body." She teased me playfully, nudging my shoulder.
"No, not like that! I mean, I do enjoy it but doesn't mean it's just limited to that benefit."
I couldn't help but react to her teasing. "Hahaha, alright. So?"
But then, I continued,
"Well, about your question, I don't mind marrying you now. We are already family, anyway."
I kissed her lips,
"But we're still far too young. Marriage isn't something you can just play around with. It's a big decision that should be thought over many times."
"You're such a smart-ass, Dan."
She had her arms wrapped around my back, feeling the muscles, "Do you have any girlfriend yet?"
"No, not really. But there are some girls who were asking me out, though. I just refused them without further explanation."
"Well, they'll get over it."
"Yeah, I suppose."
I pulled her even closer and hugged her tightly.
"Hey, Lea, there's something I've been meaning to tell you..."
"What is it, Dan?"
"I have told you about my dream before, haven't I?"
She then put her hand on her mouth and stared into space.
"Oh, that's right, I forgot! You said you want to make an impact, didn't you?"
I smiled at her, "Yes, and that's not the only thing I want to say."
I took a deep breath and exhaled.
"Lea, the truth is, I-"
"Sorry, Dan. Can we talk about this another time? I think I need to take a break for a bit. I'm a bit tired."
"Hey, you don't have to be so serious."
She pouted as if she was mad at me, and then she said...
"You have a bad habit of always being so serious, Daniel."
"I will go and continue my research on space."
"And what about me? Will you still be able to take me with you?" I said as I tried to hide the bitterness in my voice.
"Don't worry, Daniel. I'll make sure that we'll get the chance to do it again someday." She said in a reassuring tone.
"Promise?"
"Yes. Promise."
That was the last time I saw her.
Also the last time I felt her warmth as we have had a forbidden relationship with each other.
As she died during the experiment conducted on her own lab.

Lea Michele, 28 years old, a passionate scientist who thrives for her best when it comes to her own pursuit of research. She has passed away while conducting her own experiment. Nothing was found but stuff at her lab as the evidence. No traces found, not even fingerprints were there.
I was stumped by her death, but I remembered something that she has told me before...
***
"What are you doing, sweetheart?" I kissed her, attempting to get on her nerve.
"Hey, stop it! You silly..."
"Haha, sorry. I was just curious what you are up to in this lonely night."
"Daniel, thanks to you I cannot get enough sleep." She punched my gut.
"Ouch! Well, doesn't matter. You know how much I love you, right?"
"Let's not talk about that. I'm really busy right now. Can you leave me alone?"
"Ahhhh~ why?" I teased her by whimpering like a child, wanting to get pampered.
"What I'm doing right now is important. And I want to let you know that I will leave all of these to comfort you and have a good time for the rest of my life. Understood?"
I only nodded to her, but deep down wanting to resist.
"See? You really are good at being obedient."
Her lips then touched mine once more, the scent of acids stung into my nose as she fervently inserted her tongue inside mine, making a delightful sound of clicking and smacking.
"You know what? I changed my mind. Maybe I'm really thirsty for you after all."
She then slides her lab coat smoothly down to the floor, attempting to seduce me by her currently indecent appearance with no strings attached. I could only gulp seeing such a tempting scene as we finally continued on what would have been our final night together.
