Chapter 31: "An Unexpected Offer"

Olivia's eyes sparkled with hope as she turned to Ayra. "Can I go home with you?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Ayra's expression softened, but she shook her head. "I'm sorry, Olivia. I'm staying with Nurse Vanessa, and I don't think it's possible for you to come with me."

Eden, who had been quietly observing the exchange, spoke up. "My home," he said, his deep voice commanding attention.

Ayra's eyes narrowed. "You want me to live with you?" she asked, her tone incredulous.

Eden's gaze remained steady. "Because of Olivia."

Ayra's expression turned sharp. "Yay, I know I want a job, but no way am I going to be a babysitter."

Eden's response was flat and unyielding. "I will employ you."

Ayra's curiosity got the better of her. "What do you do for a living?" she asked, her eyes locked onto Eden's.

"CEO," he replied, his tone deadpan.

Ayra's eyes widened. "Which company?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Eden's response sent a shiver down Ayra's spine. "Demi Tower."

Ayra's grasp on the conversation faltered. Oh, that's a very popular company, she thought. She had heard people talk about it even in her realm and the human realm. Nurse Vanessa had mentioned it too.

As Ayra struggled to process the information, Eden continued. "I need someone to care for Olivia. She requires special attention, and I'm willing to pay top dollar for the right person."

Ayra's eyes snapped back to Eden's face. She was torn between her desire for independence and the temptation of a well-paying job. But there was something about Eden that didn't add up. Something that made her wonder if this was more than just a simple job offer.
