Chapter 21

Third person point of view

Aravind went to his room and closed the door. He stood leaning against the door and took deep breaths. He put a hand to his heart. It was probably the fastest he has ever felt it race. He went and sat on the bed. He put the bag away and sat cross legged. He closed his eyes and focused on his breath and slowed down his heart. 

He opened his eyes and scoffed. " How did I not know that he was such a flirt ? " He said with wide eyes. It really came as quite a surprise. " Was he always like this ? " Aravind couldn't stop his heart from racing once again when he thought about it. He rubbed his head to stop thinking about it. 

He rested his head on his fist, inevitably thinking back to Dev's heartful smile. " He looks relieved but I feel like I am the one in trouble right now ". Aravind said and chuckled. He shook his head and walked towards the kitchen. He saw his mother walking in from the backyard. He drank some water and walked out. 

He went to find her and she was folding clothes in the living room. " Want to have anything ? " She asked and Aravind shook his head. " Fine ". He went and sat down beside her. He started helping her with the clothes. His thought drifted back to what just happened a few minutes ago. He bit the inside of his cheek and glanced at his mother. 

He has told Dev about it and so much happened. They were even acting like this, but his family didn't know about any of this. He started thinking about all the possibilities and felt his heart sink a little. He cleared his throat and came out of the spiral of thoughts. He was suddenly getting too emotional. He will deal with it when it comes till there.

He continued folding the clothes. The both of them together finished them faster. His mother took them away to put in the wardrobe. He also went to his room. He just sat at the desk pouting a little and thinking about things and gradually over thinking things once again. A knock on his door brought him back to Earth. 

Atharva opened the door. " Here ". He gave Aravind's laptop back to him. " Done ? " Atharva nodded. " You don't want to change that wallpaper ? How long has it been there ? " Aravind chuckled. " It is better than your default wallpaper ". Atharva gave a nod and walked away making Aravind laugh. 

Aravind turned the laptop on and opened his mail. He saw the google document Dev has sent him. He opened it and read it through. When he reached the end, he noticed a 'hello'. He raised an eyebrow. He looked up to the top right corner of the screen and saw Dev was also online. He chuckled and typed back.

Aravind : What ?

Dev : What took you so long ?

Aravind : I came here to read this, not to chat with you.

Dev : Tsk. Then why did you reply now ?

Aravind : Done reading.

Dev : You are seriously so heartless. That is why I am willing to give you mine.

Aravind : .....

Aravind : You are definitely to blame the day I become a criminal.

Dev laughed out loud in his room.

Dev : You don't like it ?

Aravind : Is that still a question ?

Dev : Fine. I will change my tactics then.

Aravind : Ugh. I will kick you out of the planet if you keep acting this way.

Dev : You won't have a bf then. 🥺

Aravind : I guess I will have to rethink my decision.

Dev : Aye~ No refunds allowed.

Aravind chuckled.

Aravind : Too bad. Anyways put that aside. We have a meeting again the next week, so we need to show any progress ?

Dev : I guess no need. She doesn't have that much time and mids are approaching, so not necessary.

Aravind : Fine. Bye. And you better delete this whole chat.

Dev : Okayyy~~

Aravind closed the document. He shook his head and rotated in the chair. He then opened YouTube. He decided to watch the series that he had wanted to watch for a while. He connected his earphones and finished an episode. " Aru~ " His mother called for him. 

" Yes~ " " Come have dinner ". " Okay ". He put the earphones away and walked out. He finished dinner and sat down with his family to watch a singing show which his mother liked. They all went to their rooms once it was done. He picked up his phone and Dev left a message right then.

Dev : Good night.

Aravind was surprised.

Aravind : What is this ? Out of the blue ?

Dev : Let's say it is one baby step in trying to get closer to my goal.

Aravind chuckled and shook his head.

Aravind : Good night then. Get lost now.

Dev : ( i'm outta here gif )

Aravind laughed and put his phone aside. He turned the lights off and slept on the bed. He turned to the side to sleep in a comfortable position. He closed his eyes to sleep but chuckled again thinking of the gif. He cleared his throat and closed his eyes falling asleep.
