Chapter 10:Becoming the Leader’s Wife

The two maids had faces like wood,expressionless and silent,without even a hint of normal eye contact.At this moment,they acted as if they hadn't heard anything,simply wrapping a towel around Eleanor's body and leading her out of the bathroom.

Upon exiting the bathroom,they saw a woman in splendid attire waiting outside,followed by two maids with bowed heads,their expressions equally wooden.

The woman in splendid attire looked at Eleanor with delight,examining her from head to toe.Although the other party was a woman,having such a fiery gaze fixed on her body,just out of the bath,was inevitably a bit embarrassing.Eleanor couldn't help but hug her chest and shift her body to the side.

"Still not enough sleep?"Vesper shook her thin wrist again.

Eleanor felt dizzy and had a severe headache.Being shaken by him made her feel as if she had gained several tons in weight.Suddenly,she sneezed,and a strand of viscous liquid flowed out from the bottom of her nose.

Vesper frowned in confusion and asked,"What's wrong with you?"

"I think I have a cold,boss,"Eleanor sniffed,and the liquid flowed back the same way.

Vesper's mouth twitched,and he felt a bit disgusted."A cold?"

"It means catching a chill and getting sick."

Vesper was taken aback."Is it fatal?"

"Of course not!"Eleanor was furious,and in her haste,her voice involuntarily rose.Seeing Vesper's eyes narrow,she immediately stopped herself,coughed twice,and said seriously,"Boss,I just heard something that shocked me,made my liver tremble,and made me...want to spit blood..."

Vesper's lips curled up,his expression somewhat playful."What,you're not willing?"

"To the Sky Spring Pool.Before the coronation and wedding ceremonies,werewolves must receive the blessings of the clan there,and the spouse is no exception..."

Eleanor suddenly stood up."Stop the carriage!Stop the carriage!"

"What for?"Vesper asked.

"I can't marry you.I need to get out."

"You'd better think carefully.If you get out now,there's only one way to die.Although you're quite strong-willed,I know you still cherish your life."

Eleanor averted her gaze."It's not that I cherish my life;I just don't want to die without knowing why."
