Chapter 14:Escaping in the Chaos

Eleanor paused for a moment,then suddenly realized the truth.Oh,right.She had time-traveled,and tragically,she had ended up in the world of werewolves,becoming the wife of a werewolf clan leader for some unknown reason.It was only natural for people to call her"madam."

She touched her forehead with her hand,"Right,right,right.I'm sorry.I'm a bit delirious from the fever."

She gave an awkward smile,looked up,and found herself in a strange jungle.The jungle was filled with an elusive mist,eerily quiet,as if no living creatures had ever set foot here.The feeling was similar to her dream,the only difference being that it was now night,and the distant sky had a very dim moonlight.

"Big black dog?!"Eleanor suddenly jumped up from the ground,looked around,and didn't see the shadow of the black dog from her dream.She breathed a sigh of relief and asked,"Why am I here?Shouldn't I be in the carriage?By the way,where is the leader,Vesper?!"

The maid didn't answer,her face still pressed to the ground,kneeling.

Eleanor felt a headache coming on and quickly pulled her up from the ground,"Come on,you don't need to kneel to me.I'm not a werewolf,and I won't eat you.We are both human in terms of physical structure,so you don't need to be afraid."

The young maid's beautiful eyes flickered a few times before she hesitantly nodded at Eleanor.

To further ease her guard,Eleanor took her hand and gently rubbed it,trying to warm her up.But to her surprise,this woman's body temperature was higher than hers,who was running a fever.Her small hands were unusually warm,and Eleanor couldn't help but pick them up and rub them against her cheeks.

"What's your name?"

"Goy...."she replied timidly.

"Goy,now tell me,how did I end up in this place?"

"It was I who brought you here."

"You——"Eleanor was stunned for a moment,looking at her in disbelief,"Why did you bring me here?What about the werewolves?"

"They...they..."Goy fidgeted,then stammered out the whole story.

The situation was something like this.

It turned out that on the way back to Panqiu Valley,the group was suddenly ambushed by the Jackal Clan.The werewolves from both sides started fighting fiercely,and the scene became extremely chaotic.Although Fu Gong led some people to evacuate first,many human maids were not as quick as the werewolves.They fell behind during the evacuation and even became unnamed sacrifices.As for Eleanor,during the sudden commotion,she fainted like a dead person.Vesper didn't have the heart to pay attention to her,and others simply ignored her,fleeing when they should,and fighting when they should.No one thought of her.

Fortunately,Goy was observant and remembered that she was still in the carriage.She carried her out and fled into the forest,otherwise Eleanor would have surely fallen into the hands of the Jackal Clan's werewolves.

Eleanor listened with a pounding heart,and after hearing the whole story,she was moved to tears.She held Goy's hand tightly,not wanting to let go.The image of her,which had been humble and timid in Eleanor's eyes,suddenly became glorious and great.

"Sister,yes,you are my sister from now on!For your righteous rescue of me today,I,Eleanor,will go through fire and water for you without hesitation in the future!"

"Really?!Madam doesn't blame me!"

"Blame you?!Why would I blame you!I'm so grateful to you that I can't even express it!"

"I took the liberty of bringing you away.What if the leader goes back and can't find you..."
