Chapter 4/Thief!!
POV: Ji-woon
I would definitely be pleased if I didn't have to fight a dragon this time
Please move to an open area!
"Where are we going to fall this time", I questioned miserably.
We went out of the subway. "Seems like we are not the only one who have the same task", Soo-in exclaimed—pointing toward the other 2 men in front of us.
A huge portal opened up in front of us.
Please enter the portal in front of you.
There was one huge portal infront of all 4 of us, and we entered together.
It was really bright for about 40 seconds—it was an empty old city. The skies were orange, it tinted the city in a bright orange shade.
Please form teams of 2.
Me and Soo-in were already a team—so were the 2 men in front of us.
"Hi im Soo-in and this is Ji-woon", Soo-in told the 2 men.
"I am Jin-sung and this is sang-woo", a man who looked about 40 replied.
"Good luck boys", The other man—sang-woo said. He looked stern and angry
There is a portal at the way end of this city... ..
The voice said as a portal opened on the far end of the city
You must take the diamond and run out of the portal with your partner—or else you and your partner will be executed. You have 10 minutes
There was a diamond floating infront in front of us, and I bet Soo-in understood the task—a bit too well, because the next moment he jumped—grabbed the diamond—grabbed my hand and started running.
With the other two right behind us!.
"Hey!", Sang-woo yelled—running behind us.
"Bleh!", Soo-in turned around to stick his tongue out
Suddenly we bumped straight into something as hard as bone—it was bone!
a bunch of skeletons holding swords were infront of us.
The fall we had were enough for the diamond to fly out of Soo-in's hands—straight infront of Jin-sung. Jin-sung took the diamond and started running. We did not stop to think—we ran with them, the skeletons charging behind us. One of them slashed the back of Soo-in's uniform open.
"Shit!, that could've been my back", Soo-in cried as we were running.
"Quick!, behind there", I pulled Soo-in with me—behind a car.
The skeletons started chasing the other two. "We have to get that diamond and get out of here", I said—I got no reply from Soo-in so I turned around—to find him fixing his uniform. I pulled him by the collar, "Listen boy—there are no girls to impress here, do you have a plane?". Soo-in gave me an embarrassed smile.
We both watched as Jin-sung and Sang-woo got chased.
"We need a weapon", I said—I looked at Soo-in—who understood what I meant. We both smirked at each other... ..

BANG!
The car flew backwards.
Then there was a bunch of gunshots. Not going to lie—it was a movie scene at the moment.
Soo-in started shooting straight at the skeletons.
A skull flew straight towards Jin-sung—the diamond flew from his hands.
"That's my queue", I sprang up and ran after the—now flying diamond.
I almost got it—when I felt a huge weight on my back.
"You are not taking that", Sang-woo grabbed onto my back and started pushing my down. The diamond was not in front of me.
"I am too young to die kid!", Sang-woo said as he crawled over me towards the diamond. "pfft- and I'm a professor in his 50's", I grabbed his leg and pulled him backward—I grabbed the diamond from above him but he grabbed onto my leg.
"Hey!", I struggled to get away from his grasp
BANG!
The next thing I knew—sang-woo was on the floor, his head bleeding—I couldn't move.
"We've got to go", Soo-in grabbed me and started running—the skeletons behind us. We jumped through the portal—seconds before it completely closed behind us.

Ji-woon and Soo-in were sitting on the bench—same place as before.
POV: Kang Ji-woon
"We just—killed someone", I was confused—and guilty.
"Oi- either one of us had to win, and even if they lost—they'd die", Soo-in complained. "You said it yourself!", He said—I looked at him confused.
"People would do anything to survive and escape this world", Soo-in said—I could say he felt guilty too, but didn't dare show it.
Beep*
The mini screen popped up again.
[Congratulations on completing your task]

"what does this 'Faerie's shit' even do?", I asked confused—still checking the diamond out before it disappeared from my hands. "H-hey!", I was shocked

"huh?", Soo-in asked as he pulled him self in a straight position to peek at the screen.

"why?", I asked him—feeling annoyed.
"Your bars low—to 78%, I can see it above your head", Soo-in said pointing.
"Where?", I looked up, "I don't see anything", I said
"You can't, I can—must be what 'God Speed' is used for", Soo-in boasted.

"Guess the system might love you a lot", I rolled my eyes at Soo-in who was now smiling at my silliness.

"and I guess someone finally starts caring about his health level", Soo-in said—looking at me with his emerald eyes.
I rolled my eyes and placed my head to the wall.
"oi- don't you ever think about eating?", Soo-in nudged me
"Uhhhff- People can eat?", It never crossed my mind that I got hungry—until Soo-in said it.
"Let's go out and look for a convenience store or something"
"Oh yeahhhh~", I got up, "as if there are convenience stores everywhere", I rolled my eyes at Soo-in.
"Well it doesn't look like the system sells food", Soo-in pointed at his mini screen.
"ugh-"
We both got out and started walking around. There were many small buildings—all brought to the ground. there were some people in a few buildings.
"You think we can get food easily?", Soo-in asked
"I don't think so", I replied—looking around to see a lot of others—probably with the same goal as ours—food.
It didn't look like there were any stores near by, we had to find one though
Soo-in and I walked for a few minutes before stumbling upon a broken grocery—a bit away from the subway.
"didn't notice this one before", Soo-in said—exploring the aisles.
"mmf-", A muffled sound came from behind a stack of boxes
"Didn't think boxes could talk", Soo-in looked over.
We both went near the boxes—which were kept as a stack.
We looked over—a boy—about the age of 11—maybe—he was tied up and kept behind.
"Oh my-", I pushed the boxes to the floor and quickly removed the tape covering the boys mouth
cough* "uh-", The kid was panting and puffing.
"Are you okay?", I asked—taking him and placing him on a chair—I was untying the ropes tied to his hands.
"And who are you little guy?", Soo-in asked him
"I-I'm Choi Seo-jin", the kid answer.
"So kid—who tied you up?", Soo-in asked—resting his hands on top of all the food he had taken from there.
"l-lot of p-people c-came h-h-here a-and—" Seo-jin was stuttering a lot, so I thought he was feeling overwhelmed with fear, "you don't have to tell everything now—how about you calm down first?", I smiled at the kid
"S-sorry—I have S-s-stutters....S-since I was 3—I-I always s-stutter", he said—looking at me with hopeless eyes.
"that's alright", I told him, "let's get out of here first, okay?", I looked at Soo-in—who grabbed a plastic bag and had already filled it with supplies.
The three of us walked out of the store and headed towards the subway.
The 'Saber Toothed Black Tiger' has been released....
The mini screen said...
"What the heck is that supposed to mean?", Soo-in asked looking at me.
We did not have to wait around to find out.
We walked right into it.....
A saber tooth tiger—which looked like a black panther, right infront of us.
