Maya's POV
A Date, But There Is Work To Do.
"You don't believe me, do you?" he asked after seeing my face of disbelief and surprise.
"No... I mean... it's complicated," I tried to explain with exaggerated gestures.
"I can imagine how dismayed you are. However, it's true... I can prove it. Don't think I'm just some lunatic trying to imitate an anime character," he said, laughing while taking another sip of coffee. I hadn't even realized I hadn't touched mine. And really, at the moment, I can only see him as that Lunatic he just claimed not to be.
"You can prove it? So, you're saying all of you are real? How could I have found this out before? I can't understand it," I said, running my fingers through my hair.
"I don't understand either. Almost all Naruto fans know it, at least in Japan. It's common knowledge there," he explained, focusing on his almost empty coffee cup.
"Ah, a little detail... in Japan, that makes sense, but we're not in Japan," I said, starting to grasp everything.
"Yes, it's almost confidential information. Now that I remember, I feel I shouldn't have told you," he replied, looking into my eyes. "Do you believe me now?" he asked, his voice so seductive that I almost felt my legs tremble.
"Do you flirt with every girl you meet like this?" I asked, thinking about how we met.
"And do you go out with any stranger who tells you they have an anime character's name?" he countered swiftly.
"What? No!" I replied quickly.
"Well, I'm glad to know because I don't usually do what I did with you," he expressed.
"What? You mean giving your card?" I asked.
"You have such sarcasm... you remind me of Sasuke," he told me. This sexy motherfucker is still looking into my eyes, he should better stop it, it is already giving me tingly feelings downstairs.
"Great, now I'm reminded of another cartoon character," I replied trying to act like my friend. I hate it when he calls anime a cartoon.
"We are not cartoons," he said seriously just like I would. "When you want, you can visit Uchiha Corporation and meet everyone. We are as human as you," he added, becoming serious.
"I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you a cart... forget it," I said, looking away. He seems to be telling the truth. Now that I knew, what was I supposed to do? The dream of any Itachi fangirl was coming true, and here I was, just arguing with him. This couldn't be real. An uncomfortable silence ensued.
"Itachi is my favorite character," I said, playing with my fingers.
"Oh, really?" he said, looking back into my eyes making me even more uncomfortable.
"Yes, well, in fact, my favorite character and probably that of 1,200 more women," I said, smiling while looking at my hands.
"You exaggerate," he said, smiling widely, and damn, that smile really killed me. Those pink, thick lips were calling for me. God, I want them on my nipples. Just the thought of it, and I've got goosebumps rashing all over me.
"Oh, come on... you know it's true. You and Sasuke are the most handsome in the entire series," I said, blushing.
"So, you liked him too?" he asked, and I felt my ovaries jump.
"You are much more conceited in real life," I said, raising an eyebrow.
"Heh, I'm joking. I just wanted to make up for the unintentional blow I gave you, I wished it was intended, I would have been soft on those beautiful parts" he answered.
"I see, it was nothing," I replied without thinking about what he said, and all of a sudden the realization washed on me, and with my eyes wide open in shock, I looked up to see his face and it was when I heard Itachi's phone ringing.
"Excuse me a moment... what's up, Sasuke?" he answered in a low voice. "Well, I'm at Elegance Coffee. Could you bring those papers here?" he said, then looked at me. I opened my eyes wide. Was Sasuke coming? Wow... could I handle so many Uchiha hormones? I swallowed hard. "Very well, I don't think Dad will mind. It'll be just a moment. You're close anyway, don't complain, Sasuke," he argued, and at that moment, I wanted to flee. "I'm... solving an important matter," he replied, directing his gaze back at me. "Well, I'll see you here," he added before hanging up.
"Sasuke needs my signature to close a business deal. He's coming here with Shisui. Is that a problem? This way you can start getting to know us and verify that I'm not lying," he said, settling back into his chair.
"I see..." was all I could manage to say. Were they seriously coming? I hoped I could handle the pressure.
A few minutes later, Sasuke appeared, accompanied by who I assumed was Shisui.
"You are so ridiculous, Itachi. As if I didn't have things to do, you make me come to a café," said Sasuke, his voice unmistakable, paralyzing my senses as he spoke from behind me. It felt like he was about to hit me from behind.
"Hello Sasuke, I'm doing very well," Itachi replied with mockery.
"Weren't our parents supposed to teach us manners?" Sasuke said, frowning. He then sat to my right, and Shisui took the seat to my left, with Itachi in front of me. I turned my face and found myself staring at Sasuke's perfect looks.
"Greetings should be the first things people do when they meet each other," Itachi said.
"Itachi, you talk as if we didn't see each other this morning," Sasuke responded, turning to face me. Our eyes met, and I felt all the muscles in my body tense up. His gaze was different from Itachi's—cold and sharp.
"Sorry to interrupt you..." Sasuke looked at me carefully, from top to bottom, and I felt a chill run through me. "A date?" he asked with doubt. "But there is work to do," he added, raising one of his thin eyebrows. I couldn't help but frown.
"It's not a date, and don't worry, I was just leaving," I said, starting to get up. This boy was really annoying, and my pride wouldn't let me stay.
"No, wait," he said, taking my hand to stop me from leaving. That electric shock ran through my body again, concentrating in my belly. Our eyes met once more, and a stifled sigh escaped from my chest. His gaze was penetrating, and he bit his lower lip, making me feel faint. "It'll be quick," he said, releasing my hand and taking the papers from Sasuke.
