The embryonic teenager waved his hand to reshape the galaxy, and the metal planets bloomed with grass. Chu Yun's carbonized right arm grows new shoots, and Xiao Man's photon blood degrades to a normal red color. Federation survivors are reborn from the data stream, but forget all painful memories. The teenager plants a silver tree on Mars, and the canopy bears a pocket watch-shaped fruit.
"My name is Zero," the teenager gently touches the fruit and the ruins of an eight hundred year old laboratory float to the surface, "This is the true origin." Chu Yun finds the frozen diary in the ruins, and the last page reads, "When the fire sprouts, the pruner will return."
Children on New Earth are suddenly able to draw complete Star Wars scenes, and mechanized patterns of animal behavior emerge. Xiao Man finds his blood briefly photonizes in moonlight, and Chu Yun's newborn arm can manipulate plant roots. Zero's silver pupils grow dimmer by the day, and the silver tree fruit crashes to the ground to produce black resin.
One night, Zero disappears under the silver tree, leaving behind a torn map of the bark. Chu Yun followed the map and found the underground cave, which was filled with the same cultivation pods as the observatory. Inside the capsule lay dormant the failed products of successive generations of Chu Yun and Xiao Man, and the monitoring screen outside the capsule displayed, "Fire contamination level 89%."
Xiao Man's photon blood dripped into the incubation capsule, awakening the sleeping first-generation failure. The suture-faced "Chu Yun" hissed, "The Fire Seed is a virus!" The underground cavern suddenly revitalizes, its walls oozing black resin. Zero was reborn from the resin, his silver pupils completely black: "The universe needs to be sterilized."
The silver tree root system pierced through the earth's crust, and the new earth began to metallize. Chu Yun's nascent arm was corroded by the resin, revealing a mechanical skeleton. Xiao Man's photon blood suddenly exploded, painting a blood-colored countdown in the sky-exactly the same as the moment of the nuclear explosion eight hundred years ago.
Zero's fingertips coalesced into a black hole, compressing New Earth into a pocket watch. Chu Yun pierces Zero's chest with a mechanical bone, and what flows out is actually photonic blood. Xiao Man catches the falling pocket watch, the inside of the cover engraved with the last words of the first Dr. Lin: "We are all in the bottle."
As the black hole devoured the last of the starlight, the pocket watch suddenly pulsed on its own. They floated in absolute emptiness, and countless identical pocket watch shimmers lit up in front of them-each shimmer was the end and beginning of a reincarnation. Chu Yun gripped the pocket watch tightly, the second hand suddenly jumped backwards, and the sound of scissors opening and closing came from the depths of darkness.
