Chapter 10: The Beginning of Something Bigger

For the first time in a long while, Lee Jihoon woke up excited.

Not because it was the weekend.

Not because work would be easy.

But because, tonight, he was attending a VIP film premiere—as a guest of Yoo Seoyun, one of the biggest rising stars in the entertainment industry.

Jihoon still couldn't believe it.

A few days ago, he had been just another office worker—tired of life, stressed about his job, and stuck in a monotonous routine.

Now?

He was about to step into a world completely different from his own.

All because of one small act of kindness.

Jihoon stretched in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes before checking his phone.

A notification from the Kindness System popped up.

[Kindness System Alert]

Upcoming Event: Attending a VIP Film Premiere (Special Opportunity)

Potential Kindness Opportunities: HIGH

Jihoon smirked. So the system recognizes events like these too?

That meant tonight wouldn't just be fun—it would be another chance to test how far kindness could take him.

Would there be more surprises waiting for him?

Jihoon couldn't wait to find out.

Work, Distractions, and Kevin's Questions

"Alright, I need to know what's going on."

Jihoon barely had time to sit at his desk before Kevin Park appeared, his eyes burning with curiosity.

Jihoon sighed, setting his coffee down. "What now?"

Kevin leaned in dramatically. "You've been acting weird all week. First, you're all about 'kindness' and 'good vibes.' Now, you're glowing."

Jihoon raised an eyebrow. "Glowing?"

Kevin nodded seriously. "Yes. Like a man with a secret. Spill."

Jihoon smirked. Should I tell him?

"…I got invited to a VIP film premiere."

Kevin choked on his coffee. "WHAT?!"

Several nearby employees turned to look.

Jihoon calmly took a sip of his own drink, unfazed.

Kevin gawked at him. "Since when are you connected to VIP events?! Are you secretly rich? Is your dad a CEO? Did you win the lottery?!"

Jihoon chuckled. "None of the above."

Kevin narrowed his eyes. "Then how?"

Jihoon shrugged. "I helped someone. They wanted to return the favor."

Kevin stared at him.

"You're telling me… that being nice got you into a VIP event?"

Jihoon nodded.

Kevin slumped back in his chair. "Unbelievable."

Jihoon grinned. "You should try it sometime."

Kevin groaned. "No thanks. You do the nice stuff—I'll just be your plus-one when you get even bigger opportunities."

Jihoon laughed. Maybe one day.

When work ended, Jihoon rushed home to prepare.

He wasn't used to dressing up for fancy events, but this was different.

He needed to look the part.

Standing in front of his closet, he analyzed his options.

Casual? No. Too underdressed.Overdressed? No. Too much.Classy but simple? Perfect.

After some trial and error, he settled on a fitted black suit with a crisp white shirt and no tie.

Checking himself in the mirror, he nodded in approval.

Not bad.

Just as he adjusted his cuffs, his phone buzzed.

[Yoo Seoyun: The driver will pick you up at 7 PM. See you there!]

Jihoon exhaled. Here we go.

A sleek black car pulled up in front of Jihoon's apartment.

As he stepped inside, the driver greeted him politely before pulling into the busy Seoul nightlife.

Jihoon gazed out the window.

Even though he had lived in this city for years, tonight felt… different.

When they finally arrived at the venue, Jihoon stepped out—and was immediately hit with the bright flashes of cameras.

Photographers, reporters, and fans crowded outside the entrance, waiting for the stars.

Jihoon blinked at the chaos. I'm definitely not used to this.

Staff members quickly guided him past the press and into a quieter private waiting area.

That's when he saw Yoo Seoyun.

She was dressed in an elegant midnight-blue gown, her long hair styled in soft waves. Even behind sunglasses, she radiated effortless grace.

When she spotted Jihoon, she smiled.

"You made it."

Jihoon chuckled. "I think I almost went blind from the cameras, but yeah."

Seoyun laughed softly. "You get used to it."

Jihoon shook his head. "I don't think I ever will."

Seoyun smirked. "We'll see."

Ding.

[Kindness Opportunity Detected.]

A calm presence can ease anxiety.

Jihoon frowned slightly and looked at Seoyun.

Despite her confident exterior, she seemed… tense.

"Are you nervous?" Jihoon asked.

Seoyun hesitated. "A little."

Jihoon raised an eyebrow. "Why? You've done this before."

She sighed. "Yeah, but premieres mean interviews, and interviews mean… questions. Sometimes about things I don't want to talk about."

Jihoon nodded. He understood.

The industry wasn't always kind to public figures. One wrong answer, and people would twist it into something bigger.

Jihoon smiled reassuringly. "Then forget about them for now. Just enjoy the night. You worked hard for this."

Seoyun looked at him, then smiled.

"…Thanks, Jihoon."

Ding.

[Small Act of Kindness Completed!]

Reward: 7,500 KRW

Jihoon chuckled to himself. Kindness at a VIP event? Still works.

The theater was filled with celebrities, producers, and VIP guests.

Jihoon found himself in a private section with Seoyun, where staff members brought them drinks.

As the event started, Jihoon noticed people glancing at him.

Some whispered. Others openly stared.

Jihoon leaned toward Seoyun. "I think people are wondering why I'm here."

Seoyun smirked. "Let them wonder."

Jihoon shook his head with a grin. This was insane.

As the lights dimmed and the film started, Jihoon settled into his seat, feeling a mix of excitement and amusement.

Just a week ago, he had been an exhausted office worker.

Now?

He was sitting at a VIP event with a famous actress.

All because he chose to be kind.

As the movie played, Jihoon had a thought.

What other doors could kindness open?

He was eager to find out.
