Reunion

The Journey to the Tomita Household

The group traveled from the Shaolin Temple back to the Tomita estate, where Mei's family had been housing Yuki Osamu for years.

Reito had barely spoken the entire trip.

His usually calm, unreadable expression was slightly shaken, as if he were processing everything at once.

Hikaru walked beside him, occasionally glancing his way.

"You okay?" he asked.

Reito didn't answer at first.

Then—softly, he said, "…I don't know."

Hikaru nodded in understanding.

Meeting a mother you never knew existed? Learning that you weren't abandoned, but taken?

It was a lot to take in.

As they arrived at the Tomita estate, Mei met them at the entrance, her eyes wide with curiosity.

"You actually found him?" she whispered to Hikaru.

Hikaru simply nodded.

Mei smiled softly and gestured toward the main house.

"She's inside," she said.

Reito took a deep breath.

Then—he stepped forward.

The Mother and Son Reunion

Inside one of the guest rooms, Yuki Osamu sat on the edge of her bed, stretching as she had just woken up.

Her hair was slightly disheveled, her usual calm and polite expression replaced with drowsiness.

Then—

She heard footsteps.

Someone walked into her room.

Yuki turned her head, expecting Mei or a servant—

But the moment she saw who it was—

She froze.

A young man with pale blue eyes, short silver-white hair, and a presence that felt so familiar yet so distant stood before her.

He stared at her, unsure of what to say.

Yuki's breath hitched.

Her hands trembled.

Her eyes widened in absolute disbelief.

And then—

Tears spilled down her face.

She covered her mouth, her shoulders shaking as she whispered—

"…Reito?"

Reito's throat felt dry. He had never heard his name spoken like that.

With so much love.

With so much pain.

He nodded slowly.

And then—Yuki broke.

She rushed toward him, sobbing, her hands covering her face.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice cracking. "I'm so—so sorry."

Before Reito could even think, Yuki wrapped her arms around him, holding him so tightly as if she was afraid he would disappear again.

"I never stopped looking for you," she cried. "I never—never gave up. My baby… my baby boy…"

Reito, stunned, stood stiffly for a few seconds.

Then—he hugged her back.

Slowly. Hesitantly.

Like he was afraid this wasn't real.

Like he was afraid that, if he let go, she would vanish.

And for the first time in his life—

Reito Osamu felt warm.

The Others' Reactions

Outside the room, Hikaru, Mei, Haruto, Moriya, Ikazuchi, and Teshii watched the reunion in silence.

Mei wiped tears from her eyes. "I've never seen Yuki so emotional before," she whispered.

Haruto crossed his arms but smiled softly.

Ikazuchi sniffed and immediately tried to play it off. "Tch. Dust in the air."

Moriya, standing beside Hikaru, simply nodded in approval.

Hikaru smiled. "They deserved this."

But then—Hikari, who had been watching with the rest of them, turned her head toward Teshii.

And her heart sank.

Teshii wasn't smiling.

Not even a little.

His usual grin, his smug attitude—completely gone.

Instead, his face was cold. Emotionless.

Like he was watching something from a distance—something he didn't allow himself to have.

For the first time—

Hikari realized something.

Teshii, the loudest, most carefree one in the group—

Had never had a moment like this.

No family. No reunion.

No one waiting for him.

And he knew it.

That's why he wasn't smiling.

Because he had nothing to smile about.

Hikari's chest tightened.

Before she could say anything—Teshii turned away.

He shoved his hands in his pockets and muttered, "Let's go. We should give them space."

And without waiting for a response, he walked off.

Hikari watched him go, her heart aching.

Because for the first time—

She realized how alone Teshii really was.
