A Day of Fun
The amusement park was alive with energy—the smell of fresh popcorn and cotton candy, the sound of excited chatter, the distant roar of roller coasters.
Teshii stretched his arms behind his head, glancing at Hikari. "Alright, Volleyball Queen, where to first?"
Hikari smirked. "Don't hold back on me now, Professor. Let's hit every ride we can."
Teshii grinned. "I like the way you think."
From fast-paced roller coasters to spinning teacups, they went on every ride they could find, laughing the entire time.
But the real highlight?
Teshii dominating every carnival game.
Winning Prizes
Teshii casually tossed a ball at the bottle-stack game—knocking them all down in one shot.
The worker blinked. "Uh… congrats?"
Hikari clapped sarcastically. "Wow. Are you cheating?"
Teshii grinned. "Nope. Just built different."
By the time they finished going through all the carnival games, Hikari was holding an absurd number of stuffed animals.
She raised an eyebrow. "Teshii, you do realize I can't carry all of these, right?"
Teshii crossed his arms, mockingly serious. "Then clearly, you need to get stronger."
Hikari kicked him lightly in the shin.
Teshii laughed.
The Ferris Wheel & Teshii's Past
As the sun began to set, they boarded the Ferris wheel, sitting across from each other as the ride slowly ascended.
The city lights began to glow, illuminating the night sky.
For the first time that day, things felt calm.
Hikari glanced at Teshii. "So… you never really talk about yourself."
Teshii raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
Hikari leaned back, arms crossed. "You talk a lot—but never about yourself."
Teshii smirked. "You noticed that, huh?"
Hikari rolled her eyes. "Obviously."
Teshii exhaled, watching the city below.
"…My mom was a single mother."
Hikari's expression softened.
Teshii continued. "She raised me alone. But she wasn't completely alone. She had her two best friends. They helped her every step of the way."
He chuckled. "I guess you could say I had three moms."
Hikari smirked. "Three moms? Damn. That explains why you turned out so extra."
Teshii laughed. "You're not wrong."
Hikari tilted her head. "You still keep in touch with them?"
Teshii's smile faded—just slightly.
"…Not anymore."
Hikari noticed the shift but didn't press.
Instead, she simply smiled. "Well… they must've done something right. You turned out okay."
Teshii blinked. Then grinned. "Only okay?"
Hikari rolled her eyes. "Don't push it."
A Kiss Under the Stars
As the Ferris wheel reached the top, the entire city skyline stretched before them.
The lights, the stars, the endless horizon.
Teshii glanced at Hikari. "You know, this wasn't a bad way to spend a day."
Hikari smirked. "I'll take that as a compliment."
Teshii leaned in slightly. "You should."
Hikari raised an eyebrow. "What are you—"
Then—he kissed her.
It was soft, effortless, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
And for once, Hikari, always teasing and confident, felt her heart skip a beat.
When they pulled away, Teshii smirked. "So? You gonna kick me in the shin again?"
Hikari smiled. "Not this time."
As the Ferris wheel descended, the night air cool and peaceful, one thing was clear—
Something between them had changed.
