Chapter 13: The Eternal Forge

The journey to the Eternal Forge took the group through the **Void Expanse**, a desolate dimension where time and space seemed to unravel. The air was thick with tension, and the ground beneath their feet shifted unpredictably. Kael could feel the artifact's energy reacting to the unstable environment, its pulses growing more erratic.

As they pressed forward, the shadowy figure appeared once more, its form more distinct than ever. "**You cannot escape your fate, Kael Ardent,**" it intoned. "**The Eternal Forge will not save you. It will only hasten your downfall.**"

Kael's grip tightened on the artifact. "I don't know who you are, but I won't let you stop me."

The figure's eyes glowed with an eerie light. "**I am the **Eclipse**, the embodiment of entropy. Your efforts to save the multiverse are futile. All things must end.**"

Before Kael could respond, the Eclipse vanished, leaving behind a sense of dread that lingered in the air. Lyra placed a hand on his arm. "Don't let it get to you. We're close."

The Eternal Forge loomed ahead, its massive gates adorned with runes that pulsed with ancient power. As the group approached, the gates opened, revealing a vast chamber filled with molten energy and towering anvils.

At the center of the chamber stood the **Forge Master**, a being of immense power whose form shifted between light and shadow. "**You seek to reforge the fabric of reality,**" the Forge Master said, its voice echoing through the chamber. "**But such a task requires a sacrifice.**"

Kael stepped forward, his heart pounding. "What kind of sacrifice?"

The Forge Master's gaze fell on the artifact. "**The artifact is a fragment of the Divine Paradox. To reforge reality, you must merge it with the Forge's energy. But doing so will bind you to the Forge, making you its eternal guardian.**"

Kael's mind raced. The thought of being bound to the Forge was daunting, but he knew it was the only way to ensure the multiverse's stability. He turned to his companions, their expressions a mix of concern and determination.

"I'll do it," Kael said, his voice steady. "If it means saving the multiverse, I'll make the sacrifice."
