BTTH - Chapter 41: Desert
Hai Bodong sighed with a wry smile, stretched out his hand, and touched the ring. A fragment of the map appeared in his hand, which he handed directly to Xiao Tian. Xiao Tian took the fragment, glanced at it casually, and put it into the system space.
"I can agree to join your forces, but I will only listen to you, and you cannot ask me to do anything that goes against my conscience or harm innocent people," Hai Bodong said after a moment of hesitation.
"Of course, you don't have to worry. I'm not the kind of bloodthirsty person. I created a force just to gain a foothold and protect the people I want to protect. I won't restrict your freedom."
"Okay, I agree."
"Welcome aboard, Hai Lao. When you reflect on this, you'll realize it was the wisest decision," Xiao Tian stood up and said with a smile. "What strength have you recovered to now?"
"Palace Master Xiao, I was a five-star Dou Huang before I was sealed. Now I am a two-star Dou Huang," Hai Bodong corrected himself.
"Now you can call me Xiao Tian, and don't call me Palace Master for the time being. Since you have joined us, I won't hide anything. I have a pill that can help you restore your strength, but I don't have the herbs right now, so I can't refine it for the time being." Xiao Tian dropped this bait, and a list that had been prepared long ago appeared in his hand, filled with various herbs.
"This is the Soul-Restoring Purple Pill, a fifth-grade high-level pill. Its function is to restore a cultivator whose strength has declined due to a seal or internal injury to his strongest state before his death. But you need to collect the herbs yourself. I will help you gather them if I come across any."
Hai Bodong's eyes lit up at the mention of this pill's effects. He reached out to take the list, read it carefully, memorized the herbs needed, and stored it in his storage ring.
"Now that everything has been discussed, let's go outside first. It's very cold here," Xiao Tian said as he pulled the little medical fairy, who was quietly listening to their conversation, and walked back the way they came.
They returned to the dilapidated shop.
"Does Mr. Hai plan to stay here, or does he have any other plans?" Xiao Tian asked Hai Bodong.
Xiao Tian took Xiao Yixian into his arms, and she hugged him tightly. With one more person on this trip, they made such an intimate gesture. Xiao Yixian blushed and buried her head in Xiao Tian's embrace. Xiao Lan stood on Xiao Tian's shoulders and held onto him.
"Then let's go. Hai Lao, you lead the way."
Hai Bodong nodded in agreement. After finding a direction, he flapped his wings and flew out, with Xiao Tian quickly following.
Two streams of light flew out of the city rapidly. Hai Bodong deliberately accelerated continuously, wanting to see Xiao Tian's limit, but Xiao Tian kept up closely, suggesting that his flying skill and techniques were very advanced. Which family cultivated this monster?
As the two of them flew at speed, they looked at the endless golden desert below. Apart from the raging wind and sand, there was no sign of anything else.
"Hai Lao, stop for a moment."
Xiao Tian halted mid-air, and Hai Bodong stopped as well.
Looking in the direction Xiao Tian was pointing, Hai Bodong saw only a second-level magical beast, the Sand Scorpion.
"Isn't this a second-level magical beast? Is there anything special about it?" Hai Bodong asked, puzzled.
"It's nothing special, but this monster is just right for Xian'er."
"Suitable for me? But this monster is too ugly. My Xiao Lan is much prettier than it."
Xiao Yixian took a glance at the yellow scorpion with green claws and frowned, while Xiao Lan chirped a few times to express her agreement.
"This isn't about asking you to subdue it, but to defeat or kill it. This is the target I've picked for you to fight."
Xiao Tian flew over the Sand Scorpion, then landed nearby, put Xiao Yixian down, and instantly moved to the sand slope on the side.
Standing on the sand slope with his hands behind his back, he quietly watched the Little Medical Fairy confront the Sand Scorpion.
"System check-in."

Upon seeing this reward, the image of the overbearing yet naive purple snake tail emerged in Xiao Tian's mind, and he gradually formed a plan.
Hai Bodong approached Xiao Tian: "You just threw her in front of the Sand Scorpion?"
"Hai Lao, don't talk nonsense; I will sue you for defamation. I am doing this to train her. If jade is not polished, it will not become a useful thing. She is the backbone of our power, and Xian'er may surprise you in the future."
Xiao Tian stated confidently.
"Oh, then I'm really looking forward to it." Hai Bodong was intrigued and looked over.
The Sand Scorpion, basking comfortably in the sun, noticed the intrusion into its territory. It stood up, raised its huge tail, and looked ferociously at Xiao Yixian.
Xiao Yixian summoned her dou qi to defend herself just as the Sand Scorpion charged directly at her.
The two engaged in a fierce battle in an instant, with yellow sand flying everywhere.
On the other side, Hai Bodong watched as Xiao Yixian unleashed her purple poisonous dou qi and turned to look at Xiao Tian.
"Is your girlfriend a poison master?"
Xiao Tian nodded with a smile.
"It's really strange. You're a pharmacist, yet you look for a poison master, even though this little girl is pretty." Hai Bodong turned to gaze at Xiao Tian in surprise.
"Poison masters or other practitioners, there's no difference in my eyes. All practitioners in the world share the same goal. What is more terrifying than poison masters is the human heart."
Hai Bodong was taken aback by Xiao Tian's words. "Perhaps I have a narrow vision. It seems you have a profound understanding of human nature."
Xiao Tian smiled and said nothing.
While the two were talking, Xiao Yixian continued her battle with the Sand Scorpion. She swallowed a poison pill while simultaneously attacking with her dou qi.
